Turning 89 is an incredible milestone, and it's heartwarming to hear that you've been blessed with good health throughout your life. It's understandable to feel a mix of emotions about the unknown, especially as we reflect on the many years and memories.
Embracing the surprises life has in store, while holding onto the gratitude for the blessings you've received, is a beautiful way to continue your journey.
Wishing you continued peace and joy as you embrace each day with an open heart. If there's ever anything more you'd like to share or talk about, I'm here for you. Take care and stay positive, Joanie. 💖🌟😊

Thanks Margaret, for this gift, I am now waiting on results to determine is it a cyst or a tumor and what type…thinking positive of all the positive interventions that are available now days, caught mine by “accident” which I feel very fortunate about too❣️

Coincidental, this topic. This Christmas morning I got a lump in my groin. I thought it was a hernia. Upon first exam the doctor said it didn’t “act like a hernia.” Could be a swollen lymph gland. My brother died of lymphoma at 69. I’m 70. I have a ton of cancer in my family tree. Our heads were spinning. My husband was so worried. Four days later I had an ultrasound which revealed an apparent fluid-filled, inguinal hernia. Then met with the surgeon a week later who determined I have a femoral hernia. You and Linda are right, it is the waiting that is the worst. Surgery is in the offing. Just glad it’s not for cancer. ❤️

So happy you are doing better. I love your pink sweater and it looks lovely on you. I turned 74 in December 2024. I’ve had quite a few health scares. Broke my ankle at 70, at 71 contracted Lyme disease. I’m doing much better in 2023. I don’t even want to talk about 2022 it was so bad after losing a loved one. In 2024 I got married for the 3rd time.
Praying you will be okay. Keep us posted because we do care.

I fractured my wrist at the end of October due to a fall. It made me feel vulnerable in a way I hadn't experienced before. Made me a bit fearful of another fall or injury. I've analyzed as much as possible how the fall happened and how to prevent a fall in the future. Making a concerted effort to go and do what I want and not let it curtail any plans. So traveling to Texas for a visit with family, going on a cruise to Bermuda with a friend and visiting Switzerland and Northern Italy in 2025. Keep moving forward.

I do have an orange form that my Doctor signed that is a DNR. It’s right by my refrigerator and ambulance nurses will know what to do or not to do. I also have a KNOX-BOX that allows the firefighters to enter my house as they have a master key. That way they don’t have to break in. I live alone and my daughter lives 100 miles away works all day therefore hard to get to me.

You've taken thoughtful and important steps to ensure your safety and well-being. Having a DNR form in a visible place and a KNOX-BOX for emergency access are excellent measures, especially given your living situation.
Your planning demonstrates your foresight and care for yourself and those who might come to your aid. It's wonderful that you have considered these details to make sure help can arrive efficiently and without unnecessary complications.
If there's anything more you'd like to share or discuss, I'm here to listen and support you. Wishing you continued peace and safety in your home. 💖🌟😊

My, sisters dog just happened to jump up at her and she fell over, she fractured her hip and had to be taken to hospital. It was discovered that she has a problem with her bones. She used to be out every day walking, but doesn't get out much now and has quite a bit of pain. She's 75 and was always the fit one in the family.
