Love that you posted this this time of year. The dark days and rain this fall in Squamish has got me down! This video gave me a big lift and the joy that in a few short months we will back on the trip planning!! Woohoo!!!
Some incredible scenery! I bet your friend has a new appreciation for your hiking abilities, too. That is seasoned vs newbie, but she did great. I hope she loved doing it as much as you loved sharing it.
I was on the bridge crew while building the trail, we worked with helicopters to fly the large metal spans and other needed materials during construction. Best job ever!!
It's awesome you took a newbe on a hike . As always, thanks for taking us along. Maybe your friend likes it enough to continue going on adventures. For those are the most precious memories that stay with you till death
Absolutely! It was so fun to share the experience- she said it was the highlight of her summer :) I definitely think it’s kicked started a bit of confidence in adventuring for her.
@@theoutdoorparadox6897 Yes! They’ve made some upgrades in the last couple of years, it was different than the first time I did it for sure. Still such a great trail :)
@@LaurenRoerick Okay, amazing! I'll check that vid out too. The JDFT is on my list to do (probably sometime this summer). I ran the Wild Pacific Trail last weekend - Nov. 16 - and didn't get QUITE as lucky with the weather 😅(although, we did get SO lucky with the weather when we were out on the boats in Tofino and Ukee all day the two days before).
What time of year was this trip? Looked drier than your previous one on the JdF. Could you just imagine being on the trail when the recent storm came through?
This was in July! Was definitely drier this time around. It would be terrible in that storm! It’s probably soooo muddy now, with some extra downed trees I’d imagine :/
This was July, but I’ve also done it in September. Both were beautiful. Any time from about May until October would be fine, it’s just going to be a bit colder and possibly wetter on the shoulder seasons. It’s beautiful either way!
This was such a fun trip! I loved being able to share my obsession with backpacking with Rae :)
Why not kludak trail on San Juan ridge? ...... oh you're not actually from vi

what time of the year did you go!? im starting to do my research on this trail and would love to know your thoughts of when the best time to go is!

This could be a series.
What else would you like to see? (I have tons of hiking videos!)
@LaurenRoerick I love the Juan de Fuca. I meant you could bring newbies on this trail and make it a series.
@1983mikechan oh totally! That would be so fun. It’s such a great trail!
@LaurenRoerick Yeah it is, done it every September for the last 5 years. Annual reset.
Beautiful video. In a gross, squishy kind of way.
@@fertilestallion haha there were some gross squishy parts on this trail for sure
