Bought a recon five years ago and have been very happy with the machine. The atv has been dead reliable and is way more fun and capable than i thought. Excellent build quality as well. If I ever sell it it will be to buy another before the carburetor gets the machine cancelled. I will than own that recon until i die.
I'm 6 ft 5 300 some-odd pounds and just bought my first Honda 2020 Recon it's wonderful first four-wheeler don't need anything more powerful perfect for what I need it for play and fieldwork I recommend it easy peasy🇷🇸😎
Some of the best memories I have are riding our ATC 90 on my grandparents farm in the early 80’s in MS. The Recon does remind me more of that with a lot better performance. I think a more agile and maneuverable 4wheeler like the Recon can be more fun than the behemoths that everyone gets. Thanks for the video.
I’m gonna have to agree with you. It completely reminds me of riding the Honda 200s ATC. The newer, four wheelers are much larger much heavier much bulkier, unlike the old Honda, ATC. And by the way, I’m 6’3” 230 pounds
Thanks for the video. I'm looking for a first 4 wheeler for my 12 year old son. I live at 4,000 ft elevation and was concerned about carb. I like how you said you ride with friends up to 10,000 feet elevation without issue. Thats good to know.
I agree with everything you said. I sold my king quad 750 and started riding our recon and I actually enjoy riding it more than my king quad. I can get the recon to go just about everywhere I took my bigger one. Is the ride you're referring to in Utah happen to be the Piute trail? My in laws have a cabin on Monroe mountain and it's beautiful up there. Thanks for the review!
Thanks for watching! We love all 3 of our Recons, and yes we ride the Paiute with them every year. We love Monroe Peak! You’re blessed to have that connection!
I have a Yamaha Bear tracker 250. Solid rear axle foot shift 5 speed I love that damn thing. I've ridden the grizzly 660 as I've ridden the Big Bear 400s Kodiak 450s and I have to say the smaller machine is where it's at I'm 6 ft 330 lb and not a single issue it will sling my ass around in a donut no problem it will go down the trails just fine. And it rides on the asphalt just perfectly fine it is a great nimble machine it tows the trash cans out to the yard no problem. I'm glad Honda at least still makes a smaller machine for those of us that want four wheels for the simple tasks. They're not the fastest. But they are a lot of fun
What is height and weight of your riders riding this recon regularly? I want to get something my daughter can learn on but something she isn't going to outgrow in one year
We have three Honda Recons that we ride regularly. I myself ride them often and they are great machines. I don’t know that she will truly grow out of a Honda Recon. Thanks for watching.
I'm considering a 2023 foot shift, am 5'11 , but primarily want to use it to pull a Swisher 60" Pull behind cutter to cut 10 acres, you think it will handle that OK ?? HUM, I had thought they had went to fuel injection with these new ones
Like you say, factually a heavier/taller tire must have a negative impact on acceleration and braking, but I could not discern the difference! Thanks for watching.
That...I don't know. If your air filter is dirty that does affect it. But besides that, maybe an improved jet kit from one of the companies that offers such.

I feel much the same. We have three in our fleet and they’re just great machines.

Right? They’re great machines. Quite capable.

You’re welcome! I agree with you.

I’m glad we see things the same way!

Yessir. And we live at 5800 ft elevation. Sometimes at 10K-11K feet it’ll struggle to stay idling. But nothing at 6000 ft.
You're exactly right when you mentioned ATC's I have a 1983 200 M and a 1984 big red ES Hell the handlebars are even the same measurements pretty much
Cool huh? I love ATC’s.

I agree, capable, nimble, simple, fun.
I have 2 bayou 250, not as fast but man they are durable/ indestructible! Real work machines!
Yes, I'm a fan of the Bayou 250. Wish Kawaski had simply continued development of the Bayou 250 instead of discontinuing it.

You will not go wrong with a recon. Keep in mind everything will need some type of servicing but they are the most reliable atv there is!
I have a 2013 model that i put size 25x8x12 on the front and 26x10x12 ssv on the back and it still has good response and torque
Right?! They’re great little machines. I’ve got 25x12-9’s on one of mine. Video just published.

I recommend you get a Rancher or Foreman. Much better suited to your task, and you will enjoy the experience more.
Foreman ES EPS is probably best for you. Lower first gear for pulling.
Nice review, those tires do look badass. They also look a lot heavier than stock, didnt hurt performance to much then?
Like you say, factually a heavier/taller tire must have a negative impact on acceleration and braking, but I could not discern the difference! Thanks for watching.
How can I improve the cold start?

Amen brother ❤️
Great machines. Thanks for watching!
younger kids? hopefully your 16 year old you mean.
No, I was referring to kids younger than 16.
