    I saw a lot prototypes of gearbox and this one is my favorite.
    No clutch, variable gear ratio.
    If is possible to balance mechanism to eliminate vibrations then it could be used in low rpm diesel engines

    This paired with let's print's flat plane 8 motor electric motor and a standard bicycle cassette would be an awesome E-Bike

    Brother, nice mechanical, this mechanic can be used in the pump, electric MOTOR to the place you turn with the drill, and because the first impeller is wider and the diaphragm impeller is small, it becomes a comfortable and powerful pump,

    Your mechanical companies can also buy this mechanic, new mechanics are very valuable. Have a nice day.

    why didnt you chane the lenght of the "bars" attached to the ratchets? Would have the same effect on transmission but somewhat simpler mechanics (I think).

    Hello, i am making a small scale train for an engineering project and i wanted to install a small cvt on my train. Your design works perfectly but i need to scale it down a bit. Would it still work if I scaled down the entire thing?

  • @MegaScissorhand

    why dont u use it on scale engines to demonstrate the effectiveness ??

      Ball bearings. And yes. They allow parts to move smoothly instead of constantly rubbing against each other.

      I’m really glad you say that actually, the first video I ever made where I didn’t say a word really worked out well, so I was curious if maybe the audience didn’t like the sound of my voice, or maybe I come off as arrogant or something, I really don’t know. This was just a follow up experiment 😀

    The only problem with is engine braking and wear of ratchet.

    I love what you do and i would like to ask can you show us how to make a automatic gearbox which can automatically change the output rpm based upon the input rpm,
    I meant how can i increase output rpm if the input rpm is low,and decrease output rpm if the input rpm is high,
    Overall i need constant output rpm if the input rpm varies.
    Please help me

    Nice - How much torque can this handle? Looking for something to shift somewhere from a 6 to 1 to a 12 to 1 handling up to about 15 ft/lb. Currently my prime candidate is a compound planetary with a ball shifter but CVT would be nice. BTW did you see the different way I assemble a compound planetary on my channel? Maybe something we tackle after the robotics season

  • @JorgeFlores-ck8bp

    Can you do one of those for a e bike ??? Currently the e bikes have low power electric motors than may achieve a better performance with a different set o gear ratio can this be used on it??

    • @JorgeFlores-ck8bp
      @JorgeFlores-ck8bp 5 лет назад

      the idea would be to have a configuration for more Torque and then other for more speed

    What is the primary 3d printer you use for parts like these?

    • @GearDownForWhat
      @GearDownForWhat  5 лет назад +3

      I think the most important part is experience In using one. I printed all of these parts with a very low end printer that is well known to start fires, so it will remain unnamed. My new stuff is all done on my Prusa I3

    • @gamiensrule
      @gamiensrule 5 лет назад

      @@GearDownForWhat Haha. Thanks for the reply. I'm pretty sure I know then, but I appreciate your answer. The primary reason I ask is because I want to get into 3d printing to make high tolerance parts that are sturdy and highly "usable". So you've helped in two ways. I know I can get by with an entry level with proper tweaking and time, but i also have an idea what to look at if I can $wing it (the i3).

    Dude, why are you not producing tutorials and explaining how your gears work? 69k subscribers don't make sense to me with the amazing things you're doing. I know there are tons of makers that would benefit from your knowledge.
