For Mayor Adams to squash this supposed peaceful protest turned into a riot, he had to have received some intelligence that something was going to happen. As a state college student (From ny and now in graduate school for medicine in PA at a public university)…….this is the insanity that social media spreads. People feel they have no identity these days. That is why they are so unsure what genders they are and always shouting for the next thing on social media. So they can stand for something. Anything. So quick to take on the identity of the crowd.
That is my take. Also, I have never had time to protest in my life because I am STUDYING 24/7 as I imagined other students would be too. I don’t even have time to use social media (Besides RUclips on my laptop occasionally). I deleted all other social media to avoid this insanity especially as election year approaches.
Also, it is one thing to protests but at least study deep into the history because I guarantee the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is not something you learn from a scrolling on twitter looking at one-sided algorithms.
