They are a technical and psychological masterclass.
England have failed in the past due to lack of technical and psychological mastery.
If we’d had 5 Alan Shearers taking those penalties in Euro 96 we wouldn’t have lost that Semi Final.
What I'd be worried about is that you can't seem to win against Switzerland in 90 minutes. or 120.
The fact you needed penalties is foreboding.

@@mgc7199 Switzerland beat Italy and drew with Germany. It’s not like they are bad. And 3 of the 4 Euros semi finalists had to play in extra time. Argentina (World Champions), Uruguay and Canada also went through by winning on penalties. Yes, England should improve but wouldn’t it be hypocritical saying that England can’t beat Switzerland and now that they have you are saying they went through penalties. They are a part of the game. Acknowledging it won’t hurt. And this is knockout tournament, everybody wants to win and plays at their best and a bit of luck is needed.
@@NorthLondonForeverCOYG Don't get me wrong, I really liked the Swiss' play style. Very aggressive in the beginning, lots of pressure and it paid off. Unfortunately for them they didn't or couldn't do that more against England or they might have won.
Still, I expected more from England. That extra 30 minutes won't have done your players any good either.

As a dutch, i was pretty impressed by how england has changed their mind up at this oint of the competition. The new line-up has allowed them to have more cretivity, and although it looked boring at some times, it didn't look forced and ugly, and they got much more balls in the penalty area. Of course I think that a nation with such a players could do MUCH better, but i liked it today. I hope that the best wins between our nations. HUP HOLLAND🧡🧡🧡🧡

@@rezo6212 Sometimes it takes a few games for a team to “click,” shake off the nerves & grow confidence. The problem for the England team has always been the weight of expectation on its shoulders. I guess you could the same about Brazil & Argentina, but they have a whole different approach to the game, they always look like they’re enjoying themselves & having fun out there. Maybe it’s the intense media attention on England that gets to them.
