The best lightest weight 25HP outboard OMC ever made 22 cubic inch born in 1957. I think I heard on one of your videos that you said you were born in 1957 to a nurse ,LOLL. Lookin fwd to your" Hard To Pull "videos. If you ever need parts you know where to find them,LOLL! Still waiting on you getting your hands on a late 50S clamshell motor 10-18HP... I know you had a nice 1959 Golden Jubilee once you got for a $1.00 on E-Bay anyhoo later my Florida friend..

Greetings! Wow! That Engine looks great! I bought a used 1982 25hp 2-stroke Yamaha Enduro E25F and I am looking for parts. The engine starts right up. I looked into some outboard dealers in the States and they sell parts for engines starting year of 1984 and up.
I have looked into Yamaha's history and this Outboard motor was sold for international only. Apparently, the Boat dealers started selling Yamaha Outboards in the U.S. by 1984. It seems that his model was not sold in the U.S. to what I had found. Who knows. I am looking for help if you or any of the subscribers who are reading may know of an Outboard Repair shop that may sell parts. I will be very appreciative and please continue with your educating videos regarding old outboard engines thank you for sharing your knowledge and tips on fixing them.

    Hi sir enjoyed your video
    I have a 1972 Johnson 25 that I just purchased electric start
It will Run but dies after a few minutes minutes I have to pump the primer to re start what do you think the problem might be?

Id swap with new or check fuel pump output while running(visual) first disconnect line to carb at pump run into waterbottle with short piece of hose , dirty carb second (rebuild & clean) and bad checkvalves in squeeze bulb would be my third check..Good Luck!

Yeah, those coils will fool you for sure. Just cuz they are cracked, doesn't mean they are arcing, usually a pin hole near a ground can be found by running it at dusk like you did. You didn't replace the thermostat, just removed it??
Sounds real nice though. Last of the 22CI engines.

I had a brand new NOS 25HP powerhead sold it last year . Coils are very hardy yes they are. Yes this was the last year of a great 22CI motor. Owner said he will replace the coil its up to him and or the thermostat. This being a freshwater motor the thermo looked good and waterpump was good also. He came to me to buy a motor and I ended up fixing his and he gave me a $50 tip on top of my repair bill. Second time in a row I did this stupid me never make real good money being honest,LOLL! Local Marina wanted around $1200 to go thru it & fix this motor with a waterpump change. He was lucky to find me thru my local listings... a real nice guy.................I enjoyed the repair....

Just curious because I have a 73, looks just like mine. Do you happen to know how many teeth are on your starter bendix gear. Mine doesn't line up correctly sometimes. It clangs into the flywheel more than I would like

Should be 11 teeth I checked two of my motors for you. This motor was a repair its gone. Spray WD-40 on the bendix mechanism and spring & a good strong battery helps..Hope that helps you out Gary! Like Subscribe !
