Jeremy Soule, if you read this... Sir, thank you for The Elder Scrolls series. It is not TES without you. These three installments, Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim will forever stand out as beautiful and grand. You are undoubtedly one of the greatest composers of the modern days and should be remembered as such. Thank You!
This piece always reminds me of Bilbo when he says to Frodo in Rivendell: "I meant to go back, wander the paths of Mirkwood, visit Laketown, see the lonely mountain again..." The feelings he has are those of an adventure, the once in a lifetime kind, which was way more personal than Frodo's, one where he found and lost all his friends, where his life both gained its meaning and lost it. His true "home" that he fights for in The Hobbit is, in the end, not in bag-end, but wherever he is with the dwarves. All the places he has visited with his friends were his "home" because he was with them when he did. This is that exact kind of far away nostalgia that this music brings in Skyrim. The cliffside shores of Ravenrock, the ashen plains of Tel Mythrin and the last silt strider, the cold mounts of Solstheim down to the Skaal village... There is an adventure there that, although it doesn't feel as my nordic home like Whiterun tundra, Dawnstar's frozen waves or Windhelm's proud stones, has something to do with "home". A part of me ended up there, at the end of the game 's journey. Anybody?
You probably dont care at all but does anyone know a method to get back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid forgot my login password. I appreciate any help you can offer me
hearing 2:48 always just makes me think of the skaal village. it played when i entered the area for the first time. it's my favorite part of the entire skyrim OST.
This song played when I realized I could see Red Mountain. Like a kick to the chest and I just…stood there staring. No game can ever recreate that moment
Another great, but underrated track. These four new tracks that were added had a mixture of both Skyrim and Morrowind to them, something I didn't think was possible.
One thing I loved about TES games was the music itself. I grew up and now live on my family farm, we have a beautiful mountain range north east of us that is in clear view from our fields and as winter approaches, the tops are clear white and the chilly early frost blankets the leaves and grass. Cottonwoods, Maples and the Willow trees shed their leaves while the pines on our property hold strong, and I rake and compost the leaves, start a bonfire, tend to the chickens and horses with feed and fresh hay, bundled up seeing my breath in the air, my chocolate lab, our property protector accompanies me as we see to the needs of the farm my father passed on to me as I gaze out upon the mountains and imagine what ruins could they hold, and what a trek I will take snowshoeing this year. Thank you Jeremy Soule, this music has been invaluable to me during the seasons on the farm. Whether its shoveling snow, cleaning the stables, haying in the summer or gardening in the spring and summer. You have my respect and thanks.
When I hear songs like this, I can see an open land, vast and filled with ash, the dead hulks and masses of trees accompanied by the smooth and bitter cold nordic winds. Takes me back to ancient land of Solstheim. A land I will remember well.
Jeremy Soule is forever goated to me. The man worked for years perfecting the tone of TES since Morrowind and this track shows it. It's a shame he won't be returning, I'll miss his style.
Just a shame Bethesda already confirmed he won't score ES6 due to their fear over unfounded "Me Too" allegations against Soule, despite no charges and no evidence whatsoever. His career is effectively over.
You just go into your Library -> Application Support -> Steam -> Steamapps -> Common -> TES3 Morrowind -> Data Files -> Music. Then just drop the mp3 of whatever track you want into either the Explore or Battle folders and it'll play in-game. No mods required, you just drop it into the folder with the rest of the vanilla music
Solstheim's Sorrow or maybe... History of Solstheim. The theme seems to change from sorrowful to sometimes more optimistic and Solstheim was a good place, until the Ash came, so it's possible that the Optimistic notes are of the past and the more depressing ones are from current times in Solstheim. I mean it has no official name, but this is what i'd call it based on the sounds. One of my absolute favorites from Jeremy Soule. I personally think Solstheim's Sorrow is a better name though, especially cuz that can fit the "History of Solstheim" theme, as Solstheim didn't use to be a bad place, but now it's filled with danger and sadness, basically.
@@DeadSpacedOut I disagree with the optimistic part, I think the parts you're talking about are not at all optimistic. They're melancholic, homesick, and it's all etched with grief, loss, and pain of displacement. I think the whole song is extremely heavy through and through. Maybe the heaviest piece i've ever heard. And Azura help me it's my favourite too I would call it "A Land Left Behind" or simply "Memory"
@@Krobluv1172 A Land Left Behind sounds more appropriate for an Elder Scrolls track imo, not a bad name and an interesting take on this piece, very cool lol

The best soundtrack in Skyrim, in my opinion
Theres nothing of better than listening this song while drawing
Lool yeaa
while drawing, while writing! while living or taking a walk around. Everything is adventure with this in your ears..
That is, if you can draw.

The flutes at 2:48 take me to another dimension
This is one of my favorite. Didn't start playing till last year but still feels like a timeless track. This kind of music really shows its emotion.

I always come back to this no matter what happend
This is probably my favorite Skyrim Track, if not my favorite Jeremy Soule Track of ALL TIME.
when you come to Solstheim for the first time, and then this song hits you ... Thank you Jeremy Soule
He is a genius... For those who can understand

Went to solstheim for the first time a few weeks ago. Heard this playing and was completely enthralled.
Thank you Jeremy Soule.
I love how this piece has a similar ending motif as The Gathering Storm from the original soundtrack, that’s such a cool touch Soule added
Another great, but underrated track. These four new tracks that were added had a mixture of both Skyrim and Morrowind to them, something I didn't think was possible.
Thats the whole point of Solsthiem its suppost to be a mixture of skyrim and morrowind
This is by far the best new song

My favorite track from Skyrim. It's hard to be entirely sure since each track is so amazing though.

I'd say Jeremy Soule carries Skyrim. Without his score, I wouldn't even touch it. The man's a musical genius.
Theres so much depth in the compositions. So many harmonics and string parts that are barely audible.
