What is "truth" and how can anyone one man think that they have "truth", other than our Lord and savior Jesus Christ? I feel like both are plausible explanations, though I lean towards the non-human approach to the "sons of God". There is sufficient evidence, and the scripture in Job uses the same "sons of God" yet it is speaking about angels.
Austin Greene - Well, for one thing, Pastor Doug IS speaking the truth. Different KINDS cannot breed with one another. Science has discovered why this is. Everyone KIND has a different signature on their chromosomes and if the signature does not match - no fertilization occurs. So you are leaning in the WRONG direction - away from TRUTH. The word angel only means messenger. The angels in Heaven are the angelic host. There are various types of angel beings. They are not like us. Humans can not appear in heaven and present themselves as such. Also the act of this and giants being born through these unions caused the flood due to their evilness and what they taught mankind. This must have been a very grave sin or sins that brought these GIANTS about that God would destroy the whole earth and all that is in it and spared Noah who was perfect generationally. (Verse below)I believe this caused an issue with human DNA. This DNA MIX would put the pure line of yehusua’ tribe of Judah in jeopardy and possibly prevented his birth from a pure human woman. Another note worthy of attention is that the following verses mention how Noah’s GENERATIONS were PERFECT and it’s a separate topic from him walking with God which is also noted in the same verse. GEN 6:9. If Doug is correct why would it state it that way? This tells me Noah and his sons genealogy was untainted by these sons of God and contained pure human DNA. If these other texts didn’t exist I would be inclined to agree with Doug, but in light of the other texts I’m going to have to keep an OPEN mind and do some more research on the matter.

I used to enjoy listening to DB years ago. I still do, as I think he is an amazing teacher!! - eloquent, patient, convincing, very knowledgeable. However, while many will be quick to deem me as misguided, uninformed, deceived, possessed and in need of serious prayers, I can't wrap my mind around how humanity got to a place where professed Christians, of all brands, are actually having discussions on ancient texts, supposedly written thousands of years ago, written in over 2 different languages, and somehow we have the bravery to claim that we know or understand the original concepts and ideas..that we understand clearly what was in someone else's mind, thousands of years ago..and despite various interpretations, various understandings, when are we going to accept the reality that some things may not be knowable, or comprehended..can't somethings simply be left alone? The bible is filled with wonderful stories, which all teach amazing concepts about day to day life. I am a Seventh Day Adventist and I do believe current the message held by the SDA church is the closest to biblical truth we can get to in Protestantism I respect Pastor Batchelor and the amazing work that has been done through amazing facts. With that being said from the introduction of this message I see this is a personal view Pastor hold not biblical truth. An explanation must be giving not excuses to believe otherwise based on personal convictions. I have recently spent much time studying Genesis 6 and you cannot reconcile the idea that humans made Giants or that the Sons of God in Genesis 6 are humans I have seen nothing to support that view other than a traditional position. Also marry and given into marriage is not synonymous with procreation which I have never studied anything in scripture that teaches spiritual beings can't procreate I'm not saying I have the answers or the truth behind this but I can for sure say that this explanation support a tradition position reasoning through study. P.S. I don't plan on leaving the SDA church I still believe the remnant message is in the 3 Angels message and the Sabbath is still binding :-)

It was not until Christ shed his blood on the cross that we were able to bare the same name Ben Elohim because we could then be reconciled back unto him when we get born again and enter into his spiritual kingdom. This is in fact why the Hebrew people celebrated Shavuot or what we would call Pentecost or even the feast of weeks. This in the old testament was when the law was given to the the children of Israel and was also a harvest festival. In the new testament it was when the Holy Spirit was sent down out of heaven in order that the NEW spiritual children of God might receive and be lead by his spirit. This is the point in time that the old testament clearly spoke of when God would do a new thing and start gathering his newborn children into his kingdom that is not of this earth. Behold,I will do a new thing:Now it shall spring forth;shall ye not know it?I will even make a way in the wilderness,and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:19. this is talking about the great work he alone would do on the cross in order to bring us all back into reconciliation because we were all spiritually dead in our trespasses and sins.It goes on to show how we beasts would be transformed by some thing other than the working out of the law if you understand the symbology being used.It also goes on to show how Israel was just as lost as the rest of the world and even lacking in their sacrifices which were but a covering for their sin. This same story is told with different analogies all through the old testament. Like the dry bones analogy. This is because they like all the rest of humanity were spiritually dead in their sins and had the curse of the garden upon them. The children of Israel were chosen out of the other 69 nations to show how the walking out of the law with out the guidance of the holy spirit is futile and to bring in the King of Kings so that all of humanity who would call upon his name would be saved and brought back into communion with the Creator. You can clearly see the analogy between the heart of stone and the heart of flesh. This is making reference to when the children of Israel rejected the personal relationship with God at mt Sinai but instead said they would do what mosses told them to do.It speaks of them walking out the law that was at that time written out on stone but far from their hearts.The heart of flesh was a symbol of the spirit of God dwelling in the hearts of men and having dominion and the victory over our corrupt and lustful flesh.The people he proclaims to be his chosen which he would gather out of all the countries are the true church that would seek his mercy and be filled with his spirit and walk hand in hand with him through out eternity. Job 38:7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? If the sons of God are angels, then who are the morning stars? This is prophesied of Lucifer and his fall along with the other angelic host. Isaiah 14:12, 13 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: Lucifer is called son of the morning and the fellow angels over whom he desired domain, the stars of God. It is clear that there are differing views on the matter, but to say that those spirit beings had any ability to procreate goes against their nature and purpose for which God made them. I to was once a Seventh Day Adventist and to this day have many friends that are Adventists.The Adventist church had a big part in showing me that the bible is much more deeper than what most church congregations teach.I found the truth of Gods seventh day sabbath there and to this day I keep it and find it a blessing. When I found the sabbath truth it changed some thing in me and it created a type of hunger for more truth that the word of God and the holy spirit contained and revealed.I obtained and absorbed most of the books that the Adventist church and Ellen White had put out.My belief and goal was and always has been that if I am going to follow The Lord and creator of all things and profess to be a Christian then my life and my searching must always be based upon finding the truth and not the traditions of men or there twisted theology.As I grew much more understanding in what the bible was saying I started to find many contradictions in the Adventist church.I do not say this to war with you,but rather to explain how and why I came to my conclusions on many bible topics.Many times I tried to address these contradictions but I was never offer'd any answers and was also told to stop asking them because I was just a common member and not a part of the church clergy. This to me was unbiblical and very insulting.Even my children were coming to me and showing me things that did not make sense.I hung in there for a couple more years until the evidence of there wrongful teaching by Ellen White was so vast that I had to leave the church.Since then I have studied many thousands of hours in the word of God and have amassed a virtual library on the scriptures.I have learned the Hebrew language and studied very deeply the historical documentations of how the Hebrew people thought and what they believed.I have also studied Aramaic and Greek factions of the bible and have read the Targums of both Jonathan and Onkelos,the Syriac Peshitta,the Septuagint and many,many numerous writings that were actually used when compiling the book we now know as the bible.I have also studied in great detail just what the early church fathers believed before the papacy crept in and defiled many scriptures and the church. My findings have been incredible to me and have opened my eyes to many truths that many church organizations have tried to keep hidden. I have also studied and read most of the readable documents that were fond in the caves of Qumran which we know as the Dead Sea Scrolls which were written and placed there many years before the Lord walked and minister'd on this earth.These scrolls were consider'd to be there sacred writings and were place there for safe keeping when the Greeks under Antiochus Epiphanes tried to extinguish there religion. We actually started out that tall to begin with due to perfect DNA and food supply/ environment. You can see this in the animal kingdom when you study what happens over just a few generations, changing the available food supply. Epigenetics allows for the organism to change size drastically to adjust to food reserves. Man has also selectively bred dogs and other animals to widely varying sizes from tiny to quite huge. Put a miniature dog next to a great dane and realize they all came from one pair of dogs on the ark. We as humans are nothing more than Chihuahua or Poodle today when compared to the original strain of DNA. We also used to live almost 1000 years and now we are lucky to see 80. Many today cannot make it to 50 or 60 because of food choices and lifestyle.
The Seth theory came in acceptance in the 5th century, but before that and in all the Apocrypha writings it was believed and accepted that angelic beings were the "Sons of God" that sinned against God in taking daughters of men. It's hare do believe that after over 4000 years all of sudden a shift to the Seth lineage belief. I mean, the disciples, Paul, and the early church fathers had it wrong on this? Even though Christ said angels don't marry, doesn't mean that the fallen ones didn't do what they did prior to the flood.

The bible is usually pretty clear about when an Angel is present. It isn't a book of mystery just one to take a closer look at, with that if the fallen angels had intermarried it would have most likely appeared somewhere else in the bible. The question is if angels were able to marry and procreate with human beings why does the bible not provide a warning against them
You say "I haven't watched this" - but you already agree with Doug. You failed to use your God-given discernment to decide for yourself. Instead you indiscriminately accepted whatever your pastor/teacher told you to believe. This is a major problem. You also say he's fantastic at "telling the truth", but I ask you.. how do you know what is truth so that you can say that he is telling the truth? You haven't discerned for yourself, you've only accepted what he has said.
I agree with most of it, however, the book of Job has a lot of metaphors. Job 38:7 is referring to the sun, moon, and stars, ( James 1:17 ) God is referred to as the Father of lights ( luminaries - Greek - sun moon stars ), they praised Him by shining forth their light. Just like Job 38:8, it’s using metaphors. Job 38:8, does lightning really talk? Again a metaphor. Psalms 148:3 Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light. ( they praise Him by shining their light, doing what they were created to do. Hebrews 1:5, asks a rhetorical question “ For unto which of the angels said He AT ANY TIME, you are My son? The answer is never. Psalm 65:13, “The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with wheat; they shout for joy, they also sing.” Again, a metaphor. The book of Enoch was written during 2nd period temple time, it’s a false book. Job 1:6, the sons of God have always presented themselves to God on earth. Adam & Havah, when God spoke to Avraham, he was on the earth. When God spoke to Noach, he was on the earth. The sons of Israel were to present themselves before God 3 times a year ( Exodus 23:17 ). Whenever believers come together Satan or one of his demons can be their ready to accuse them.

Only one thing I must say regarding a point made in Pastor Dug's sermon that might lead people to think wrong about angels. He said they are eternal like God. Although I believe he would agree, it is a fact in Scripture that although angels do not suffer corruption (aging) as we humans do, they are indeed mortal. The Devil and his angels, although spirit, will be first to be cast into the lake of fire and there be destroyed along with all mankind who sided with him. God alone is immortal. He is LIFE EVERLASTING, having no beginning and no end. Read 1 Timothy 6:15, 16.

Doug Jesus didn't say Angel's don't procreate.. He said that there is no marriage in Heaven. Leaders of unfallen world's Doug? really....what proof do you have to back that up? It's more credible that Ben(sons) of Elohiym which in the definition says Angel's are fallen one's. That is why there are Angel's judged and chained up before their time. My question would be why would Jude 1:6, who are the Angel's that are chained who didn't keep there first estate? Chained before judgement day? For what? Also where did demons come from? The pastor talks about genetic mixing makes offspring better , but The Lord told Israel to not marry outside the 12 tribes but more so to marry inside the same tribe because of the inheritance . Folks can you please look at Genesis 6:4 ??? There were giants in the earth in those days; AND ALSO AFTER THAT, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. Moses clearly states that GIANTS were in the earth in those days, which means all the people of earth were large in stature. Moses in the narrative makes that crystal clear, then says "ALSO AFTER THAT" then he talks about the intermarriage of sons of God to the daughters of men. SEE? Giants already were there, they were not a by product of that union, but they were Giants, all of them. It is simply stating they were different in stature then as compared even to Moses time, But that is not all. Consider the following too. They must have had greater capacity of thought and memory as well, else how could Adam remember all the names he gave to the creatures God had made??? Also their lives were longer, nearly reaching a millennium of age. They lived in a perfect environment with no pollution in air, land, or water as well having a perfect climate. The point I believe that most people do not understand is that the Earth prior to the great flood and the people who lived there were different than us NOW with respect to how God first made them. We know the animals were also different in that they did not have a differing diets, but all shared the same food. There were no meat eating creatures because they ate the same diet of every green herb for meat (food). As in the days before the flood, so too in the kingdom to come, it says in Isaiah 65:25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the LION SHALL EAT STRAW LIKE THE BULLOCK: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the Lord. Many cannot understand these things because they can only compare it to their present world they live in, but it was indeed different in many ways.
Min 26:24 "how long did Noah preach?" - No where in the Bible does it tell us Noah preached or warned anyone during the time he built the ark. It does tells us he was a "preacher of righteousness" which was probably why he found favor with God but the bible never tells us he preached to or warned the people during the time he built the ark. Also it took Noah less than 100 years to build the ark not 120. Genesis 5:32 - Noah is 500 years old when he has his 3 boys which is before the flood Genesis 7:6 - Noah is 600 years old when the flood comes Genesis 11:10 - Shem the son of Noah was 100 years old 2 years after the flood The ark took less than 100 years to build.
I was thinking Noah only took like10-20 years to build the Ark, for wood decays, warps, etc.. But then again, that was a different world, so the trees may have been very stable old growth trees, maybe the trees were a thick forest, and there were Many of them to choose from, and also there wasn't rain, snow, etc. to effect the environment like we have today. Maybe termites weren't a problem either then.. For that world before the flood, God called Very Good.. Maybe on the newly created earth, we will build homes from wood if we wish, boats from wood, and that wood will last forever, for the causes of decay will probably not exist then..

Doug, I have to disagree with you on many points in your video here. I admire your online sermons, and respect your viewpoints on the whole, but this one just doesn't add up when you consider Genesis 6 in the full context with other important books of the ancient Jews as found in the Dead Sea Scrolls. If you say spirits cannot have sex with humans, then how did the Holy Spirit make Mary pregnant with Christ? I think it's possible, we just don't understand it all because we are humans. I happen to believe the watchers of Eden actually did lust after women and did have sex with them, (which was an abomination, and the faithful angels were not tainted this way) and the evil spirits in Christ's time and up to the present day remain a portion of these offspring. Most were bound up in Noah's time, but some continued to roam the earth even after Noah and the flood. Christ said angels do not have sex in heaven and humans won't either, but that doesn't mean we or angels can't have sex here in the old Earth or on the new Earth. You say Enoch could not write, I believe He was the writing pioneer who passed the writings from his experiences with God down through the flood with Noah. I don't see how you so easily dismiss Enoch as a writer. The earliest writings discovered in ancient Mesopotamia date to the exact time of Enoch. When you read the Bible, and see those verses in Genesis 6, then put the pieces together with some of the missing books i.e. 1 Enoch and Jubilees, it begins to make sense. Ideas like Hades, the Abyss, Time of Tribulation, Judgement, even the Messiah, and other things all link up. These were all known to Enoch, passed down through the ages all the way to Peter, Jude, and Revelation. It all fits, and I do not think the Sons of God as fallen angels in the case of Genesis 6 are a "myth". All this said, we are all saved in Christ and although we may have different viewpoints, we are all sinners and for sure none of us has all the answers. Christ is our only Truth, and one day we will have the opportunity to learn about all the things we pondered so hard here on Earth! Such an amazing time we will have in His Presence. Why are we so afraid that this Happened and that our Ancestors lived through this moment in Heaven and Earth's History. Why do we run from this Biblical Account? Does not Job 1st and 2nd chapter's reference too the Angel's that arrives at a Meeting with The Heavenly Father, in Heaven as "The Son's of God"? Why are we so afraid of this should not our Faith in The Creator who made The Heaven's and The Earth; & all that Liveth on Earth around in The Heaven's. I know we would feel a lot better telling ourselves this never happened with The Angel's. People look at Us Adventist's and our following of The Writing's of Sister Ellen White right up to Her 1st Vision; after, The Great Disappointment, she both told orally to a crowd and wrote down. How many Christian's out there believes this testimony of Sister White other than The Adventist's Family? I struggled with this scenario that Angel's rejected what God Created Them to Do and came to Earth and nearly destroyed Creation. Okay, corrupted Creation. Why would these Angel's do this? They were Rebelling Against God a continuation of The War in Heaven. They were attempting to Duplicate what God did during Creation. Earth is in fact a Replica of God's Country in fact, I'm fairly certain All The World's Heaven's, Universes are Replicas of God's Kingdom. The Elysian Field's now that's got to be a Myth. What of John's description; of Heaven itself? Are the throne room of God granted Sister White was Shown Heavenly Eden; Sister Ellen White, described the same regarding Heaven we have no trouble believing Her Word's. On top of the Hebrew showing that the sons of God are not human, you have 24 problems saying they are human: 1. Calling on the name of the Lord does not have the same meaning it does in the New Testament. 2. Questions arise about Adam and Eve's other children. 3. Godly men in the Old Testament are never called sons of God. 4. Humans in the Old Testament are called son/s of man/men. 5. There are gentiles in the Old Testament special to God, yet they are not called sons of God. 6. The Nephilim could never be children of two humans. 7. The Nephilim in Numbers are nothing more than made up lies from ten of the twelve spies of Moses. 8. Calling humans sons of God before Christ was glorified is wrong. 9. Saying salvation was always available makes sacrifices to the Lord pointless and meaningless. 10. If salvation was always available, then what was the point with the Old and New Covenants? 11. How was salvation always available when in the Old Testament, you had to sacrifice in order for the blood of the animal to cover your sin. 12. If Salvation was always available, then Scripture could not be fulfilled. 13. How could Jesus be the High Priest if salvation was always available? 14. Do you truly know what Begotten Son means? 15. How could humans in the Old Testament be sons of God if the Spirit was not yet given? 16. Only through the death, resurrection and ascension of Christ can a human be a son of God. If these things had yet to happen, it would then be impossible. 17. Baptism is a part of salvation. Where in the Old Testament is baptism shown? 18. What of the second group of fallen angels? They are not Satan's angels. Were they really locked up and severely punished just for leaving heaven? Where did they go? What did they do to deserve such punishment? 19. People claim since angels are spirits they have no bodies, well, Scripture tells us otherwise. 20. Scripture also shows that angels have taken on human form before and were even called men. 21. What of the very interesting note the Bible makes about human men, angels and human women? 22. The sons of God (good & evil spirits) are mentioned a lot in the Old & New Testament and are also called spirits. 23. God is called the Father of spirits. 24. If one wants to try claiming the sons of God in the Old Testament are royalty of some kind, in Daniel an angel is called a prince.
We will have two homes. We will live in heaven for 1000 years, then, when New Jerusalem descents to the earth, we can leave it for the week and go out into the earth (country home) where we can build and plant. Also why did God say he was going to destroy all the animals (man AND beast) Genesis 6:7 from the earth completely. Did Noah and his sons have to go out and trap the animals and bring them onto the ark in cages? No. God selected the animals and sent them to go and get on the ark. After Noah and his family were aboard the animals and birds and creeping things came on their own. Entered the ark and went and lay down in their stalls and waited. The ark was a floating gene bank that God needed to replant the earth after the flood. Cain’s family had been experimenting with genetics and had created hybrid creatures, half human half animal. jo Last - I so disagree. I believe the book =s of Enoch are Gnostic. Many scholars believe this and they also believe they were written in the 3rd or 4th century. That could very well mean that whoever wrote these uninspired books QUOTED from Jude and Revelation. It does NOT mean that Jude or any other Biblical writer quoted from the books of Enoch. Enoch is not inspired. God included JUST the inspired manuscripts that He wanted in His Word, and He made certain that they were canonized for us, and He will always protect His Word.
The Bible does not have a book called Enoch. Enoch is in the Bible and was translated to Heaven, but no book of the Bible called Enoch. I use the King James version, and have seen many other versions.

I love the teachings but, the marriage Gave rise to different humans: the giants. When humans were marrying each other according to God's command giants were never born to them. This guy has it all wrong. Sons of God in the Old Testament is only mentioned 6 times. 3 in genesis 6 and also in the book of Job. It’s always referring to angels. There’s no debate. I have watched several of his videos and respect his stance on this and many other subjects . However I would welcome a debate with him over this same bible study. There are several things mentioned here from him that are not scriptural and are borderline heretical.

One important foundational point the Lord lead me to recently is the truth about Genesis 6. Hebrews 1 makes clear NO ANGEL HAS EVER BEEN CALLED A SON OF GOD! The word Nephilim merely means “fallen”. They were the “offspring” of the UNHOLY UNION between the Sons of God (Seth lineage) with the daughters of man (Cain lineage). And EVIL was all they thought and did...the line was so polluted that God wiped everyone away in a flood except Noah who was deemed righteous and the other 7 he allowed to go with him. Nephilim are not “giants” as in literal large humanoids or demi gods. They are associated with wicked powerful violent warring men. That is why in Numbers 13:33 the scouts Moses sent into Canaan ahead to see what this land was God told Israel to inhabit was like. Thanks, Brother Doug! I, too, had misunderstood the scripture about the sons of God taking wives of the daughters of men! Thank you for clarifying that for me. I now believe that the books of Enoch are not authentic and false. I still have one question, though, on the subject of spirits not being able to replicate or procreate. There is one case of this mentioned in Matthew 1:18 & 20. It is the conception of Jesus. The Holy Ghost is a spirit, so can we say it's impossible? I believe that Noah "was perfect in his generations" means that he and his ancestors never intermingled with the daughters of Cain. As for his three sons, they probably were triplets, because God knew he would need help to build the ark. Genesis 5:32 tells us that Noah fathered them when he was 500 years old. In other words, twenty years after God declared that mankind had only 120 years to live, they were born. If he was like my dad, Noah started the ark construction when they were fourteen. Who else was going to help him? No one else believed the flood was coming, except maybe his wife. In Genesis 9:2 and Genesis 10:21, we see that Japheth was the elder, and Ham was the younger, with Shem falling in between those two. That simply gives us the order in which they exited the womb, just like in the case of Esau and Jacob. Jacob and Esau were twins. Esau was counted the elder.

They are not Satan's angels since Peter states that they were disobedient and chained up to await the day of judgement. These make it impossible for them to be Satan's angels. Satan and his angels were kicked out of heaven forcefully. They didn't willingly leave. Sons of God in genesis 6 are the fallen angels. They were made flesh when they came to earth, slept with the woman and made a hybrid race this is the reason for the flood! What is "truth" and how can anyone one man think that they have "truth", other than our Lord and savior Jesus Christ? I feel like both are plausible explanations, though I lean towards the non-human approach to the "sons of God". If Satan presented himself as a son of God here in this text then I do believe with all the texts put together it may point in a different direction then these sons being human from Cain’s line. Humans can not appear in heaven and present themselves as such. Also the act of this and giants being born through these unions caused the flood due to their evilness and what they taught mankind. This must have been a very grave sin or sins that brought these GIANTS about that God would destroy the whole earth and all that is in it and spared Noah who was perfect generationally. (Verse below)I believe this caused an issue with human DNA. This DNA MIX would put the pure line of yehusua’ tribe of Judah in jeopardy and possibly prevented his birth from a pure human woman. I used to enjoy listening to DB years ago. I still do, as I think he is an amazing teacher!! - eloquent, patient, convincing, very knowledgeable. However, while many will be quick to deem me as misguided, uninformed, deceived, possessed and in need of serious prayers, I can't wrap my mind around how humanity got to a place where professed Christians, of all brands, are actually having discussions on ancient texts, supposedly written thousands of years ago, written in over 2 different languages, and somehow we have the bravery to claim that we know or understand the original concepts and ideas..that we understand clearly what was in someone else's mind, thousands of years ago..and despite various interpretations, various understandings, when are we going to accept the reality that some things may not be knowable, or comprehended..can't somethings simply be left alone? The bible is filled with wonderful stories, which all teach amazing concepts about day to day life. I submit that anyone, or any church that claims to have direct special access to pure uncorrupted knowledge, above all else, is not only a dangerous person or group, they probably should not be trusted..

Hebrews 7:12 "For when there is a change in the priesthood, there is necessarily a change in the law as well."

I am a Seventh Day Adventist and I do believe current the message held by the SDA church is the closest to biblical truth we can get to in Protestantism I respect Pastor Batchelor and the amazing work that has been done through amazing facts. With that being said from the introduction of this message I see this is a personal view Pastor hold not biblical truth. An explanation must be giving not excuses to believe otherwise based on personal convictions. I have recently spent much time studying Genesis 6 and you cannot reconcile the idea that humans made Giants or that the Sons of God in Genesis 6 are humans I have seen nothing to support that view other than a traditional position. Also marry and given into marriage is not synonymous with procreation which I have never studied anything in scripture that teaches spiritual beings can't procreate I'm not saying I have the answers or the truth behind this but I can for sure say that this explanation support a tradition position reasoning through study.
P.S. I don't plan on leaving the SDA church I still believe the remnant message is in the 3 Angels message and the Sabbath is still binding :-)

While you have not explained it, I would like to ask if you have considered key texts within the chapter that might help you be settled with the matter that the spirits and human women are not what is being espoused. It was not until Christ shed his blood on the cross that we were able to bare the same name Ben Elohim because we could then be reconciled back unto him when we get born again and enter into his spiritual kingdom. This is in fact why the Hebrew people celebrated Shavuot or what we would call Pentecost or even the feast of weeks. This in the old testament was when the law was given to the the children of Israel and was also a harvest festival. In the new testament it was when the Holy Spirit was sent down out of heaven in order that the NEW spiritual children of God might receive and be lead by his spirit. This is the point in time that the old testament clearly spoke of when God would do a new thing and start gathering his newborn children into his kingdom that is not of this earth. Behold,I will do a new thing:Now it shall spring forth;shall ye not know it?I will even make a way in the wilderness,and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:19. this is talking about the great work he alone would do on the cross in order to bring us all back into reconciliation because we were all spiritually dead in our trespasses and sins.It goes on to show how we beasts would be transformed by some thing other than the working out of the law if you understand the symbology being used.It also goes on to show how Israel was just as lost as the rest of the world and even lacking in their sacrifices which were but a covering for their sin. This same story is told with different analogies all through the old testament. Like the dry bones analogy. This is because they like all the rest of humanity were spiritually dead in their sins and had the curse of the garden upon them. The children of Israel were chosen out of the other 69 nations to show how the walking out of the law with out the guidance of the holy spirit is futile and to bring in the King of Kings so that all of humanity who would call upon his name would be saved and brought back into communion with the Creator. You can clearly see the analogy between the heart of stone and the heart of flesh. This is making reference to when the children of Israel rejected the personal relationship with God at mt Sinai but instead said they would do what mosses told them to do.It speaks of them walking out the law that was at that time written out on stone but far from their hearts.The heart of flesh was a symbol of the spirit of God dwelling in the hearts of men and having dominion and the victory over our corrupt and lustful flesh.The people he proclaims to be his chosen which he would gather out of all the countries are the true church that would seek his mercy and be filled with his spirit and walk hand in hand with him through out eternity. There are many scriptures in the new testament that tell the same story and there are also a multiplicity of scriptures in the old and new testament when read in the original language that very clearly tells us that an angelic rebellion took place on this earth in an attempt to defile and usurp gods creation and the human race.It is getting very late here and my eyes are getting tired so I will leave you with one thought to ponder.It is a known fact that the Hebrew people believed in two very special places that were associated with imprisonment and death.The first was Sheol or what we would call the grave and it was were you went when you died.The other was Tartarus and this was always known as the place the fallen angels and their offspring were imprisoned until the time of the end when they would be released just before the Lord returns.This is also the very same pit that will and even now has been opened in the book of Revelation.The Hebrew people also believed that Tartarus was under the sea.With that being said,I would politely ask you where did the demons come from that Jesus cast out of legion,and why did he then cast them into a herd of unclean swine and run them off a cliff and into the see? Lucifer is called son of the morning and the fellow angels over whom he desired domain, the stars of God.
It is clear that there are differing views on the matter, but to say that those spirit beings had any ability to procreate goes against their nature and purpose for which God made them. To deny this is over the top obstinacy.

I spent the better part of the day doing so and my reply contained many scriptures that presented unquestionable proof that they could in fact only be angelic creatures. For my first response I will tell you of my journey in finding what I believe to be the truth. I to was once a Seventh Day Adventist and to this day have many friends that are Adventists.The Adventist church had a big part in showing me that the bible is much more deeper than what most church congregations teach.I found the truth of Gods seventh day sabbath there and to this day I keep it and find it a blessing. When I found the sabbath truth it changed some thing in me and it created a type of hunger for more truth that the word of God and the holy spirit contained and revealed.I obtained and absorbed most of the books that the Adventist church and Ellen White had put out.My belief and goal was and always has been that if I am going to follow The Lord and creator of all things and profess to be a Christian then my life and my searching must always be based upon finding the truth and not the traditions of men or there twisted theology.As I grew much more understanding in what the bible was saying I started to find many contradictions in the Adventist church.I do not say this to war with you,but rather to explain how and why I came to my conclusions on many bible topics.Many times I tried to address these contradictions but I was never offer'd any answers and was also told to stop asking them because I was just a common member and not a part of the church clergy. How does two human create giant 18ft
We actually started out that tall to begin with due to perfect DNA and food supply/ environment. You can see this in the animal kingdom when you study what happens over just a few generations, changing the available food supply. Epigenetics allows for the organism to change size drastically to adjust to food reserves. Man has also selectively bred dogs and other animals to widely varying sizes from tiny to quite huge. Put a miniature dog next to a great dane and realize they all came from one pair of dogs on the ark. We as humans are nothing more than Chihuahua or Poodle today when compared to the original strain of DNA. We also used to live almost 1000 years and now we are lucky to see 80. Many today cannot make it to 50 or 60 because of food choices and lifestyle.

The Seth theory came in acceptance in the 5th century, but before that and in all the Apocrypha writings it was believed and accepted that angelic beings were the "Sons of God" that sinned against God in taking daughters of men. The bible is usually pretty clear about when an Angel is present. It isn't a book of mystery just one to take a closer look at, with that if the fallen angels had intermarried it would have most likely appeared somewhere else in the bible. The question is if angels were able to marry and procreate with human beings why does the bible not provide a warning against them

Instead you indiscriminately accepted whatever your pastor/teacher told you to believe. This is a major problem. You also say he's fantastic at "telling the truth", but I ask you.. how do you know what is truth so that you can say that he is telling the truth? I agree with most of it, however, the book of Job has a lot of metaphors. Job 38:7 is referring to the sun, moon, and stars, ( James 1:17 ) God is referred to as the Father of lights ( luminaries - Greek - sun moon stars ), they praised Him by shining forth their light. Just like Job 38:8, it’s using metaphors. Job 38:8, does lightning really talk? Again a metaphor. Psalms 148:3 Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light. ( they praise Him by shining their light, doing what they were created to do. Hebrews 1:5, asks a rhetorical question “ For unto which of the angels said He AT ANY TIME, you are My son? The answer is never. Psalm 65:13, “The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with wheat; they shout for joy, they also sing.” Again, a metaphor. The book of Enoch was written during 2nd period temple time, it’s a false book. Job 1:6, the sons of God have always presented themselves to God on earth. Adam & Havah, when God spoke to Avraham, he was on the earth. When God spoke to Noach, he was on the earth. The sons of Israel were to present themselves before God 3 times a year ( Exodus 23:17 ). Whenever believers come together Satan or one of his demons can be their ready to accuse them.

Only one thing I must say regarding a point made in Pastor Dug's sermon that might lead people to think wrong about angels. He said they are eternal like God. Although I believe he would agree, it is a fact in Scripture that although angels do not suffer corruption (aging) as we humans do, they are indeed mortal. The Devil and his angels, although spirit, will be first to be cast into the lake of fire and there be destroyed along with all mankind who sided with him. God alone is immortal. He is LIFE EVERLASTING, having no beginning and no end. Read 1 Timothy 6:15, 16.

Folks can you please look at Genesis 6:4 ??? There were giants in the earth in those days; AND ALSO AFTER THAT, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.
Moses clearly states that GIANTS were in the earth in those days, which means all the people of earth were large in stature. Moses in the narrative makes that crystal clear, then says "ALSO AFTER THAT" then he talks about the intermarriage of sons of God to the daughters of men. SEE? Giants already were there, they were not a by product of that union, but they were Giants, all of them. It is simply stating they were different in stature then as compared even to Moses time, But that is not all. Consider the following too.
They must have had greater capacity of thought and memory as well, else how could Adam remember all the names he gave to the creatures God had made??? Also their lives were longer, nearly reaching a millennium of age. They lived in a perfect environment with no pollution in air, land, or water as well having a perfect climate.
The point I believe that most people do not understand is that the Earth prior to the great flood and the people who lived there were different than us NOW with respect to how God first made them.
We know the animals were also different in that they did not have a differing diets, but all shared the same food. There were no meat eating creatures because they ate the same diet of every green herb for meat (food).
As in the days before the flood, so too in the kingdom to come, it says in Isaiah 65:25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the LION SHALL EAT STRAW LIKE THE BULLOCK: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the Lord.
Many cannot understand these things because they can only compare it to their present world they live in, but it was indeed different in many ways.

Min 26:24 "how long did Noah preach?" - No where in the Bible does it tell us Noah preached or warned anyone during the time he built the ark. It does tells us he was a "preacher of righteousness" which was probably why he found favor with God but the bible never tells us he preached to or warned the people during the time he built the ark.
Also it took Noah less than 100 years to build the ark not 120.
Genesis 5:32 - Noah is 500 years old when he has his 3 boys which is before the flood
Genesis 7:6 - Noah is 600 years old when the flood comes
Genesis 11:10 - Shem the son of Noah was 100 years old 2 years after the flood

It doesn't say Noah had his 3 children before the construction of the ark.
I was thinking Noah only took like10-20 years to build the Ark, for wood decays, warps, etc.. But then again, that was a different world, so the trees may have been very stable old growth trees, maybe the trees were a thick forest, and there were Many of them to choose from, and also there wasn't rain, snow, etc. to effect the environment like we have today. Maybe termites weren't a problem either then.. For that world before the flood, God called Very Good..
Maybe on the newly created earth, we will build homes from wood if we wish, boats from wood, and that wood will last forever, for the causes of decay will probably not exist then..

Doug, I have to disagree with you on many points in your video here. I admire your online sermons, and respect your viewpoints on the whole, but this one just doesn't add up when you consider Genesis 6 in the full context with other important books of the ancient Jews as found in the Dead Sea Scrolls. If you say spirits cannot have sex with humans, then how did the Holy Spirit make Mary pregnant with Christ? I think it's possible, we just don't understand it all because we are humans. I happen to believe the watchers of Eden actually did lust after women and did have sex with them, (which was an abomination, and the faithful angels were not tainted this way) and the evil spirits in Christ's time and up to the present day remain a portion of these offspring. Most were bound up in Noah's time, but some continued to roam the earth even after Noah and the flood. Christ said angels do not have sex in heaven and humans won't either, but that doesn't mean we or angels can't have sex here in the old Earth or on the new Earth. You say Enoch could not write, I believe He was the writing pioneer who passed the writings from his experiences with God down through the flood with Noah. I don't see how you so easily dismiss Enoch as a writer. The earliest writings discovered in ancient Mesopotamia date to the exact time of Enoch. When you read the Bible, and see those verses in Genesis 6, then put the pieces together with some of the missing books i.e. 1 Enoch and Jubilees, it begins to make sense. Ideas like Hades, the Abyss, Time of Tribulation, Judgement, even the Messiah, and other things all link up. These were all known to Enoch, passed down through the ages all the way to Peter, Jude, and Revelation. It all fits, and I do not think the Sons of God as fallen angels in the case of Genesis 6 are a "myth". All this said, we are all saved in Christ and although we may have different viewpoints, we are all sinners and for sure none of us has all the answers. Christ is our only Truth, and one day we will have the opportunity to learn about all the things we pondered so hard here on Earth! Such an amazing time we will have in His Presence. On top of the Hebrew showing that the sons of God are not human, you have 24 problems saying they are human:
1. Calling on the name of the Lord does not have the same meaning it does in the New Testament.
2. Questions arise about Adam and Eve's other children.
3. Godly men in the Old Testament are never called sons of God.
4. Humans in the Old Testament are called son/s of man/men.
5. There are gentiles in the Old Testament special to God, yet they are not called sons of God.
6. The Nephilim could never be children of two humans.
7. The Nephilim in Numbers are nothing more than made up lies from ten of the twelve spies of Moses.
8. Calling humans sons of God before Christ was glorified is wrong.
9. Saying salvation was always available makes sacrifices to the Lord pointless and meaningless.
10. If salvation was always available, then what was the point with the Old and New Covenants?
11. How was salvation always available when in the Old Testament, you had to sacrifice in order for the blood of the animal to cover your sin.
12. If Salvation was always available, then Scripture could not be fulfilled.
13. How could Jesus be the High Priest if salvation was always available?

15. How could humans in the Old Testament be sons of God if the Spirit was not yet given?

18. What of the second group of fallen angels? They are not Satan's angels. Were they really locked up and severely punished just for leaving heaven? Where did they go? What did they do to deserve such punishment?

It says that there were giants or monsters on the earth BEFORE the sons of God started marrying the daughters of men (the loose women of Cain’s city). Genesis 6:4. Also why did God say he was going to destroy all the animals (man AND beast) Genesis 6:7 from the earth completely. Did Noah and his sons have to go out and trap the animals and bring them onto the ark in cages? No. God selected the animals and sent them to go and get on the ark. After Noah and his family were aboard the animals and birds and creeping things came on their own. Entered the ark and went and lay down in their stalls and waited.
The ark was a floating gene bank that God needed to replant the earth after the flood. Cain’s family had been experimenting with genetics and had created hybrid creatures, half human half animal. jo Last - I so disagree. I believe the book =s of Enoch are Gnostic. Many scholars believe this and they also believe they were written in the 3rd or 4th century. That could very well mean that whoever wrote these uninspired books QUOTED from Jude and Revelation. It does NOT mean that Jude or any other Biblical writer quoted from the books of Enoch. Enoch is not inspired. God included JUST the inspired manuscripts that He wanted in His Word, and He made certain that they were canonized for us, and He will always protect His Word.

The Bible does not have a book called Enoch. Enoch is in the Bible and was translated to Heaven, but no book of the Bible called Enoch. I use the King James version, and have seen many other versions.

As scripture unfolds it seems highly plausible that these “nephillem”are a result of exactly what the texts reveal. Fallen angels doing what THEY want not what they were created to do. If they were doing what they were created for they’d still be in heaven doing the will of God.
No where in the Bible does it say that Angels cannot procreate. Jesus said they don't marry. Marriage became a requirement after sin. Just like there was no baptisms before sin. Use your brain!!!

I love the teachings but, the marriage Gave rise to different humans: the giants. When humans were marrying each other according to God's command giants were never born to them. I don't despite the teaching but what if they (fallen angels) did marry, and due that nephlins came into being?

The giants where made by God. The same way we have tall and short people today. Also there are giants AFTER the flood. Where did they come from if Noah and his family were the only ones saved during the flood.

The title is misleading, in other words deceiving, because the Bible doesn’t say angels married humans.

This guy has it all wrong. Sons of God in the Old Testament is only mentioned 6 times. 3 in genesis 6 and also in the book of Job. It’s always referring to angels. There’s no debate. And Jesus said that angels don’t marry “IN HEAVEN” he’s not talking about the angels that fell from heaven and rebelled against God. Enoch writings were accurate. This is also mentioned in Jude 1 and 2nd peter!! The angels that sinned !!
I have watched several of his videos and respect his stance on this and many other subjects . However I would welcome a debate with him over this same bible study. There are several things mentioned here from him that are not scriptural and are borderline heretical.

One important foundational point the Lord lead me to recently is the truth about Genesis 6. This is when God’s wrath wiped out all mankind and even animals less 8 persons including Noah and the animals God told him to save with him in the arc.
So Genesis 6 has been TWISTED by many many so called pastors, scholars and teachers that say it is about fallen angels mating with human women...let me say this with great emphasis Genesis 6 IS NOT ABOUT ANGELS AT ALL NOR FALLEN ANGELS! Genesis 6 is about the sons of God (godly descendants from the line of Seth) mixing with the line of Cain (ungodly line of Satan, 1 John 3 makes this clear, remember Cain murdered Abel, Abel being the firstborn of Adam & Eve, Seth being third born and a “substitute” for the loss of Abel who God deemed righteous).
Hebrews 1 makes clear NO ANGEL HAS EVER BEEN CALLED A SON OF GOD! The word Nephilim merely means “fallen”. They were the “offspring” of the UNHOLY UNION between the Sons of God (Seth lineage) with the daughters of man (Cain lineage). And EVIL was all they thought and did...the line was so polluted that God wiped everyone away in a flood except Noah who was deemed righteous and the other 7 he allowed to go with him.
Nephilim are not “giants” as in literal large humanoids or demi gods. They are associated with wicked powerful violent warring men. That is why in Numbers 13:33 the scouts Moses sent into Canaan ahead to see what this land was God told Israel to inhabit was like. These scouts came back with an exagerated “bad report” that the Nephilim where there and too powerful for Israel to overtake-doubting God completely. They said they were like grasshoppers which is what scouts should be like as in hidden, undetected, unseen, and NOT like actual little bugs next to giants. More importantly, God killed these men for their false and exaggerated report!!
1 Peter 3:18-20 is otherwise twisted as well to some other gospel. Matthew 24 tells us the end times will be as in the days of Noah. You must have a solid grasp of what those days were like! They are directly applicable now and until the return of our Lord! They are about JESUS 100% and our salvation through JESUS AND JESUS ALONE! Not a satanic tale about fallen angels mixing with human women and creating giants or demons...please test me on this if you doubt! All who teach this heresy rely on non biblical sources like Septuagint, Apocrypha, Talmud, and other mystical sources (diversions and lies).

I still have one question, though, on the subject of spirits not being able to replicate or procreate. There is one case of this mentioned in Matthew 1:18 & 20. It is the conception of Jesus. The Holy Ghost is a spirit, so can we say it's impossible?
I believe that Noah "was perfect in his generations" means that he and his ancestors never intermingled with the daughters of Cain. As for his three sons, they probably were triplets, because God knew he would need help to build the ark. Genesis 5:32 tells us that Noah fathered them when he was 500 years old. In other words, twenty years after God declared that mankind had only 120 years to live, they were born. If he was like my dad, Noah started the ark construction when they were fourteen. Who else was going to help him? No one else believed the flood was coming, except maybe his wife.
In Genesis 9:2 and Genesis 10:21, we see that Japheth was the elder, and Ham was the younger, with Shem falling in between those two. That simply gives us the order in which they exited the womb, just like in the case of Esau and Jacob. Jacob and Esau were twins. Esau was counted the elder.
I will prove without using Enoch and solely the Scriptures (The Jewish ones to if need be), that sons of God means angels.

They are not Satan's angels since Peter states that they were disobedient and chained up to await the day of judgement. Meaning they were chained in Noah's time and won't be released until everyone is judged.
Jude says the same thing and adds that they willingly left heaven.
These make it impossible for them to be Satan's angels. Satan and his angels were kicked out of heaven forcefully. They didn't willingly leave. Yet these verses state that this group willingly left, were disobedient in Noah's time and chained until judgement day.
And again, can't be Satan's angels, since Satan's angels were and still are freely roaming around.
So the question is, who are these angels and what did they do?
