Welcome to this very different video where I grab some unique footage from behind the scenes before a Fun Fair opens up to the public. I filmed this footage to show you how a Fun Fair is built up
on a small ground from pulling on to setting up and building the rides. I caputured this footage on the day I filmed the Tip Top build up (Please check out that video if you haven't already)
It's not much footage and is shorter than normal but I hope it gives you an insight into how these Fun Fairs set up prior to opening to the public. I've basically let the camera do the talking on this one so i'm sorry for the lack of talking from myself it's not really something I have vast knowledge on in terms of how rides are built from the ground up but hopefully you get an insight.
I would like to thank Ashley Woods for allowing me to capture this footage for you all to see along with all the showmen and gaff lads throughout the day. The Fun Fair is on till the 13th July and is at the Gallows Recreation Ground in Ilkeston Derby.
On the day I captured various footage from lorries pulling on and moving around the ground along with building up Ashley Woods Dogems,Miami,Whitings Waltzer cars being placed on the track etc and Burrows Frogs.
I hope you enjoy this short video i'll try and do more throughout the season if it's something you want to see and hopefully I can improve in what you see.

I used to work the waltzers back in the 90s with the cars they have put them in backwards when put the cars away on pull down you ment to start with car 9 and move all the way down to 1 for a fast pull down. So when you are at your next stop, it is easier to put your cars on from 1 to 9. The way they have done it will take much longer to put up and pull down. Love your videos. Keep them coming.

Whitings/barkers used to come to where I live which is ratby in Leicestershire after they would close for the night they would all pile in the pub next to the field

What a interesting Vlog, Daz ! I always wondered how the Walters cars was on to the track,.
Can anyone tell me how The Waltzer cars are locked in to place to stop them from coming of the track?
Very interesting how the Bumper cars are built up too, Amazing insight how all the hard work goes into building the fairground up, hats of to them!!!

Thank you so glad you enjoyed it. I think the waltzer cars just use a pin through the bottom plate they sit on with a split pin through the pin or maybe a bolt. If that makes sense however maybe someone can correct me haha
@@TripsWithDaz they r bolted on with a nut n a pin goes though it with a r clip hope that helps u
