- Welcome to Brindavani’s first ever educational video! Sanjeev Raja and Keerthi Venkataramani break down the elements of a thani avarthanam, the mridangam solo in a Carnatic music concert, in an easy to understand, accessible way. Using an example thani avarthanam by their guru Vidwan Melakkaveri Sri K. Balaji, Sanjeev and Keerthi cover rhythmic concepts such as sarvalaghu, abhiprayam, korvai, nadai, faran, and mohara.

Thanks for putting together such quality educational videos.
Brilliant video!! Thank you so much!
Excellent. Please do this live captioning for a few complete tani Avartanams in various talas so that as the tani progresses we can see what is happening and what is being played. You may do this using the concerts that you have uploaded (just the tani part). This effort of yours is pioneering. No one has done it before. Please keep it up!
Thank you Mr. Srinath. As for your suggestion, we're on it!
