  • Welcome to Brindavani’s first ever educational video! Sanjeev Raja and Keerthi Venkataramani break down the elements of a thani avarthanam, the mridangam solo in a Carnatic music concert, in an easy to understand, accessible way. Excellent. Please do this live captioning for a few complete tani Avartanams in various talas so that as the tani progresses we can see what is happening and what is being played. You may do this using the concerts that you have uploaded (just the tani part). This effort of yours is pioneering. No one has done it before. Please keep it up!

It was a really very informative video. I didn't know the part of thaniavarthanam before. After learning this, I will try to listen to and decode the parts of a thaniavarthanam. Thank you for such a detailed explanation which benefits all listeners of Carnatic Concerts ☺🙏🙏
