At the time of this video, I was following a no discard recipe. This recipe does not say to weigh the starter before feeding it, and you simply add the same amount of flour and water each day. Feeding amounts remain the same each day and do not increase. On day one, 50 grams flour and 50 grams water. I hope this answers your question.

Mine is already an established starter. I basically use a similar method but use a clean jar adding equal parts starter 6 oz and 3 oz each flour and water discarding the remaining starter. I use ORGANIC rye flour (as there are considerably more natural yeasts in rye flour) and only feed it once every few weeks.
