Engineering knits is a place for people who enjoy all kinds of vintage and antique crafts - from sewing to knitting, crochet to embroidery I like to try it all. I definitely have a preference for historical fibre crafts, and it is my dream to one day make an entire outfit from sheep to sweater. I hope you enjoy watching me and my favorite companion, Nutella, struggle through some fascinating projects!
Thank you for your time and effort with all of these crafts! I also love how you and Claude bounce off and compliment each others work, its real comraderie.
after visiting Iceland and my S.O. and I didn't steal covers due to the split sheets we came home and ordered our own twin duvets and have loved it since.
I know its not your usual time period, but the new tudor tailor book has a bunch of historical knit project that would be interesting for you
Happy new year for everyone!
Happy Christmas! Thank you so much for doing this Craftmas series, it was very nice during this stressful month ♥
Das ist ja fast drei Haselnüsse für Aschenbrödel im Reveal
5:22 love the shopping list on the hand
The pants turned out so well! And the whole ensemble is dreamy. I can't wait for the accessories. Frohe Weihnachten 🎄
Thank you for all your hard work this craftmas!!!! It was such a joy to watch you throughout the month
Merry Christmas. We too celebrate on the 24th, the 25th is to chill or do whatever. This year we listened to mariachi music, while dancing and making cookies.
Frohe Weihnachten und eine schöne Zeit. Dein Craftmas war super schön. Liebe Grüße aus München 😊🎄
Merry Christmas. I'd heard that in Northern Europe, people have individual blankets/duvets, sounds so much more comfortable than sharing bedding 🎍🎄✨
my Finnish wife has converted me to it! It's way better - instead of one queen sized doona/duvet you have two single doonas. I didn't quite understand the sheet thing because afaik you still have the one sheet on the bed, and two doonas in their doona covers. It means nobody steals each other's blankets and imo fixes 99.9% of the things people complain about when it comes to sharing a bed
@@infamoussphere7228 Two people sharing the same blanket sounds like an awful idea indeed. As a German that's really something I've never seen around here but I think this isn't popular anywhere in Europe at all. About the sheet - maybe she is also used to two different matresses for her an her partner? It is normal for double beds in Europe that require a matress that is wider than 1,60m to be filled with two separate matresses instead of one single one. This is also popular, because each partner can chose their perfect matress insted of having to compromise. It's also quite comon to use elastic jersey sheets in Europe, the other ones seem quite old fashioned to us...
Amazing! I love your sweater and pants combo! Also, blue looks great on you!
I thoroughly enjoyed each day of Craftmas! Will you do it again next year? I know you must be tired. Thanks again!
Craftmas has been so enjoyable. Loved the straw decorations. Thank you and merry Christmas😊🎄
Merry Christmas! The outfit looks so good! I'm eager to see the whole ensemble, but by all means, take your time and enjoy the rest of your holiday - you have certainly earned a break!
Merry Christmas from Finland!
I absolutely love those pants! This Craftmas series has helped me a lot through these very stressful (for me) days Waiting for the bonnet! Merry Christmas!🤗
It's 5:30 on Christmas day in Atlantic Canada, I'm in bed waiting for 7 when my daughter gets up, I'm very excited for her to get up because we got her a new bed. (Transitioning to a twin bed from a toddler bed)
What a great end to craftmas! Those pants were such an undertaking and they look great! ❤❤❤
Love the sweater, it was so interesting to follow your making of it journey and to see the comparison with the vintage version.
😍 the absolute best way to test this outfit, wow! i am so jealous, i haven't seen any snow yet this year, even after booking a trip to go skiing 😢 Frohe Weihnachten!
Tolle Hose - ich brauche auch noch eine Hose für Langlauf und habe einen ähnlichen Schnitt. Gute Idee, Wolle zu nehmen. Frohe Weihnachten und eine schöne Zeit in Deutschland.
Merry Christmas! This year, I've been watching various vlogmases from the southern hemisphere where it's insanely hot and doesn't feel as festive somehow. Your craftmas series has been my favorite for interesting and cozy content! I love all the different crafts you do, and I'm so glad you're sharing your German traditions!
I had my first white Christmas at my wife's house in Finland last year and it was a really strange experience because it was both novel (as I'm used to hot Australian Christmas) and familiar, since I've seen it so much in popular culture. I personally think 30 degree weather feels very Christmassy! If it's Christmas here and it's like, 18 c it just doesn't feel right. But a lot of the Christmas traditions make way more sense as a winter festival - at least in my experience Australians don't put as much effort into an elaborate Christmas affair because when it's summery weather you don't need to brighten up the gloom of a long winter. I'm moving to Finland in a couple of months. The Christmas traditions can't really be unified between Australia and Finland very much although I might be doing my best to change up some of the food! (Finnish Christmas food is...uh, not my favourite. Sorry Finns.)
@@infamoussphere7228 Growing up in the US, a white Christmas was fairly common for me, and my parents went BIG on the Christmas decorations (both inside and outside) so coming to South America where the celebrations are more about family and togetherness and one long party, with Christmas being the excuse not the central part, is very interesting for me. I've not done Christmas in Australia yet, but it's on my list! I was curious whether Australia has adapted any of the Christmas imagery for the hot weather, like Santa in board shorts, sunnies, and thongs?
This was so much fun, and I am celebrating vicariously through you! Where are you now? In Germany? I love the horses and their harness. I remember my mother (turning 97 in 2 weeks) wearing black wool ski pants just like these in the early 1960s.
Merry Christmas!
Thank you for finishing the Scentmas series!
Best wishes on your accessories
Congratulations on wearable pants!
You and the horses look so festive!
(I am curious what that ...unknown word... beverage is..? Eggs, sugar, cream & a bit of spirits & spices, perhaps? )
God Jul, and thank you for making such beautiful content during the festive season. I hope you have also had time to enjoy yourself and rest.
It has been a joy watching you go through this journey. Thank you and merry christmas!
Nadelik lowen! x
Merry Christmas! And thank you for a fun craftsmas! (Karina at Liftingpinsandneedles here on RUclips has a fantastic series on fitting pants if anyone is interested.)
Frohe Weihnachten von Köln an euch. Die Skihose sieht toll aus.
Merry Christmas. I really enjoy your historical knitting and sewing journeys!
Marry Christmas!
Your outfit looks AMAZING 😍 thank you for all your hard work. Hope you had a lovely time with your family ❤️❤️ xx
Love the snow pants! I think I will keep an eye out for old snow suit patterns.
Merry Christmas! I absolutely loved taking this crafting journey with you!
Frohe Weihnachten!
Merry Christmas! Happy day to you and yours! Thank you for your lovely content!
Merry Christmas!!!!
Happy Christmas!!!
Thank you for all the time and effort you put into this series (and all your videos)! Happy holidays and new year!
Thanks for all you do for us. I love your channel and Claude’s as well. I learn so much. Hope you and yours have a wonderful Christmas holiday and look forward to seeing the complete ski ensemble.
This is so cool ❄️
I love them! I can’t believe you were editing yesterday! Happy Christmas!
Merry Christmas! Thanks for the gift of Craftmas. :) I'm a little confused about "in America we don't use the flat sheet" I think that's a thing from your family. I've never met anyone who doesn't use the flat sheet. I wish I didn't... more play fabric for me. :)
Not true i dont know many people who use the flat sheet and i live in the states.
@@LadyRed31 I wonder if it's a regional thing. Or we all do whatever our parents did. My mom always said to use a sheet to keep the blankets clean. (Shrug) It sure would be a great source for fabric if I didn't use them. 😁
In Northern Europe, people like to use two duvets. So the bedding set-up is: fitted sheet, two European sized pillows (26" * 26") and two duvets with covers. No need for the flat sheet, which can be used for sewing projects! :-)
Have always used the flat sheet!
I think she meant "now that we are in America, where they give you a flat sheet, we don't use it. Therefore, I have leftover sheets!"
Merry Christmas! The outfit is really cute.
Can also find flat sheets in thrift stores
Merry Christmas and thanks for all your great content. We made mulled wine from your recipe and it was so delicious!
Frohe Weihnachten! This series has been so enjoyable, many thanks!
Check out 'Anna Haferman' 's channel. Her snowball beany done on her knitting machine with the intarsia carriage has a very similar look to your cardigan 💚
I loved this series so much! Merry christmas!
Thank you so much for the wonderful vlog series! The pants look fantastic. I'm not sure if you said somewhere but if you're in Germany, I hope you're enjoying it! I'm actually curious as to how your family ended up moving to America and how old you were at the time, if you're comfortable with sharing it
This is so awesome!
I didn't really understand what you were saying about the sheets/covers and I am curious
Is there a reason you don't share sheets?
Why you guys pronounce the "T" sound like a flapping or tapping " D" sound , which makes it impossible for you guys to make any difference between such words as atom & Adam, Maddy & maty?
Glædelig Jul 🇨🇦
Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas!!!
