Barney was among those shows that I remember watching from my days as a toddler alongside the likes of Mister Rogers, Sesame Street and Shining Time Station/Thomas the Tank Engine. What this show did was these things. 1. Introduced me to children's music as most of the songs I learned were from this show. 2. The kids were relatable as I could see myself and in a way I saw myself. 3. Also the school looked so real that in a way it looked like someplace you could go.
