The number one reason that Utah is ranked last in gender equality is because they rank and weight heavily based on women that take jobs. So if you're a stay-at-home mom they rank it low. Like it's a bad thing! The best job in the world and it's ranked as the worst.
it's the best... to some. it's the worst to others. women are often pressured by religion to stay home and uphold those gender roles, which is why it's indicative of inequality. it also puts women in a position where they can't leave. no matter how much you believe in the role of stay at home mothers, it is based in inequality.
Finally someone used facts not feelings on women getting jobs and women staying at home. Why women want to be equal with men? women are superior in many things, do women want to be dumb like some men are?
Well I want to be best friends! I think you are amazing and amazing example to women and young women and even young boys/men!! I always tell my son that a woman can do any job a man can. I think he sees it. But I show when I can. I felt the same way at my sons blessing! Like “I did the hard work..what do I get from it?” And even if I hadn’t carried and birthed him, I feel the female role should be in there! Maybe this is a chance for change! Watch for it! I’m not trying to one up anything, but this is something I really respect about the Catholic Church is that it’s empathized how important the role of both parents are and the role of the mother. I’ve personally never seen or experienced any belittling of parental roles or anything. I also respect how when a question is asked why something is the way it is, it’s not brushed off but given a direct answer with a legitimate logical reason. Not just oh God made it that way so just accept it.
LoL That was some serious indoctrination you just spewed. Funny, my Muslim friends say the same and yet none of you can see that. All religions can’t be right, but they can all be wrong.
The Catholic Church has no logic behind it as they pay to a bunch of different people. Let's take Mary the mother of Jesus for example. They pay to marry, and yet she did not die for our sins. She did not create the universe or the world we live on. She could not, of her own power, do anything any other woman on earth can do, even though she was an extremely righteous woman, seeing as she was chosen of God to be the mother of our Savior. The Catholic Church has also covered up the rape and even murder of children for centuries and concerned the homosexuality of their priest, all why claiming not to condone it.
@@thenaturalmidsouth9536 , agree God said to Adam and even to multiply by bringing children into the world . I'm not a Catholic and I'm not trying to condemn anyone who is , but I don't understand why priests and Nuns cannot be Married ?
The funny thing is now (in the LDS Church) Women are treated as not only being equals (but often even put on a pedestal, and then to the detriment of men) Often the men are put down (inside the church), told they aren't as "good" or not as faithful as women and are bad. I myself have repeatedly heard this time in time (not just members, but actual bishop, teachers, leaders etc). The Church (especially) know bends over backwards to make the women feel good about themselves (Even changed the temple ceremonies). Plus the LDS church is the only church that says women can be "goddesses" (So I would think that aspect is an amazing for Women). So Im sorry this sister felt wronged sometimes growing up (maybe the outside made her feel that way - that women in the church didn't have it good, etc - or need more) So I don't doubt everything she says, as I'm all about improvement and doing better. However try being a man now days! Thats who is primarily is attacked. And this thought or teaching id definitely not consistent with the Proclamation to the Family. Honestly I think this is not the real doctrine but more "culture" and pandering to one gender group in order to appease, or not loose membership, etc. So I'm not opposed to making even a particular group feel special, but not at the "expense" of another (which is a "zero sum game"). When one person said one-time in leadership : men 9/10 are worse than women, etc. So I feel bad for the good men in the church (many have been abused verbally, or in other ways) by women etc - when the church may sometimes turn a blind eye to these (abusers, trends or actions) just because they are not men. No wonder men feel they are being attacked (outside the church) and sometimes (ignored) inside the church. Anyway food for thought and God Bless :)
It's called "benevolent sexism" when you pretend to hold women in high regard, but still give men authority, prestige, privilege and power. Women are never in critical leadership roles. They are "auxiliaries" (i.e. non-essential) by the Church's own admission. The Church still heavily pins women down as being created for marriage and children and discourages women from pursuing fulfilling lives outside of home & family. I sincerely regret the wasted time & opportunities lost by letting uninspired men tell me how to live my life. I'm happy I left.
I was a missionary in a Spanish branch where they were open about praising mothers. They essentially said that the church was there to help the men become more productive members of society and their families like mothers are naturally.
It's amazing how many people here in the comments don't actually know what they are talking about. Please understand before you are trying to be understood. The amount of misconception here is crazy.
The man can’t be exalted without the woman and the woman can’t exalted without the man. Salvation is a an individual matter and exaltation is a family matter.

As a widowed woman I have been told time and time again that I have no value because there is no priesthood in my house. Yet the Holy Bible says to care for the widows. In the Book of Mormon index if you look up widow or widowhood it also tells you to look under Needy; Orphan. And I am less than because my family has no long standing ties to the church that they are aware of and it’s because I don’t mention that they do. I don’t attend because God and I have a different relationship than I have with the church. I believe God’s Word not false doctrine.
Her value as a mother or how well she is a mother has nothing to do with wanting to participate in her baby's blessing. Dont let them bring you down sweetie!
45 years of marriage later I realize how sad it is to was mother pass her baby to the front of the Chapel with little or no recognition of the danger and sacrifices she has put herself through so that a bunch of backslapping bros can officially a child like kunta kinte. At the very least Mother’s should be holding the baby! Otherwise keep it in the family and do it at home. ,And please don’t expect my to believe that handing me a flower or a chocolate bar on Mother’s day is supposed to be a proper recognition! Most men I know these days don’t truly honor or even understand the humility that comes with their priesthood anyway so why does this circus show continue? I vote for raising the priest age to 16 or 18 and just blessing it buy the elders and having both genders pass it out to the multitude of parishioners that are not worthy take it but are to embarrassed to not! I think my shelf is broke😢😮
@@chlyri No, women should not be able to bless their children. We read in Alma 42 that God will cease to be God if He didn't follow the eternal laws. There is a perfect scientific and legal pattern upon which the order and function of the cosmos is organized and runs. This specific creation is the footstool of the Lord. A specific pattern had to play out here in order to complete the universal pattern successfully. Eve did the courageous thing to put things in motion. The consequences of negativity toward women will be laid at the doorstep of men who have been cruel. The sufferings of women who have to deal with this chauvinism will be more than made up in the eternities. We understood the bigger picture and excitedly agreed to our part in the plan. The honor and blessings for those on this specific footstool, who are obedient to the laws of the Lord will be astonishingly worth it. Women, if sanctified, will be high priestesses and Queens in the eternities, equal in power and authority with their husbands. The reasons for the challenging role of this footstool earth are layered. I give Firesides on this subject but it is way too long for social media and frankly, too sacred to share in this setting. Please try to understand that we are being tested to see if we have faith to follow the Lord once we have received the witness from the Spirit that the Church is true. That is what it all comes down to. We're not a social club, this is the true Church of Jesus Christ.
It’s sad that no women are not held on the same status as men. Give women more leadership callings, allow women to do religious services. Allow women to serve in area 70, allow them to serve in bishop roles, then women status will be the same.
Here is a question you should ask them. Why is it that in the church, when Joseph Smith was alive, that woman could give blessings. Truth, the church has been modified by the brothers ( not by God) to enforce male dominance (thank you, brother Brigham). Here's truths. Why is it that the decentance of Arron could be the Bishop without the priesthood. Why was it that Josheph Smith translated the Book of Mormon without the priesthood. Last one Why are most Mormons like sheep.
This is why I don't like the selfish POV in the evangelical church. It's all "about ME and MY relationship" with a deity. Instead of how you relate to your fellow human beings. This is why Judaism is better. I don't give a sht what you believe, I only care how you behave.
I'm always stunned how women of the LDS church don't know that their being treated as chattel. They LITERALLY make women broodmares the second they tie the knot. They expect women to just stay home and raise a dozen kids, cook, clean, etc without complaint and service their husband no matter how tired they are or content. I have an older brother and sister in the LDS church and I was forced to be baptized in the church and they absolutely give me chills! Women aren't equal in their faith at all. They actually have no idea the true meaning behind the story in the Bible of Adam and Eve. The men of the LDS faith are completely mysoganistic! ❤
Let’s also add that those stress factors you mentioned above is exactly why Utah has the highest number of people prescribed to antidepressants at a rate of nearly TWICE the national average! It is also the elder’s & the higher up’s throught the church & in every one of their churches, these men are practically making these women “impove themselves” by making them get on antidepressants & change all their way’s & be uterly miserable & endure untill the end & the more they endure the better because in heaven their rewards will be so much greater. Meanwhile this old white men’s group they call a church is only for their benefit & pleasure & fun & that was exactly what it was designed to be! When all of the women stop letting themselves be fooled & they stop going completely & they put a foot down & put space inbetween them & those sick people then they will have no church & they will be miserable instead of the women who are being abused by the church, the system & even that state because the church runs it & if people don’t think they do then they are not paying attention.

I’m not Mormon. And I’ve never been Mormon. I have a lot of Mormon family members and I live in Salt Lake. When I look at the Mormon church as an objective outsider, I see all the same signs as a cult. Please think about this. And the same can be said for any religion. I read a quote that said you should be like an atheist. Because they are not like a religious person who has a god standing over them forcing them to be good. If they are good, it’s because they are good.
Yes! It is even in the Bible that if you follow all of God's laws even if you aren't in the church you have the laws in your heart and God is pleased by this. But I have yet to meet a single person that hasn't actually broken any of God's laws in their lifetime. With that said. The church has failed many people. In the name of God many people have been hurt, humiliated and even raped. That is why God is now raising people from the satanic church, saving them, cleansing them, and raising them as leaders instead.
Feeling 'less-than' is cultural more than doctrinal. I get it on a certain level but, its an inaccurate perception plaguing younger women these days. The belief system of inequality and feminism is a social construct: a religion that doesn't value anything you love beyond anything else. Its trading down when you're so much more than equal! No one determines your worth but you and when you know yourself, you'll know how empowered you are. Nobody will be able to tell you otherwise. Whatever your desired destination, or standard of living, becoming an actualized, fulfilled being as all God created you to become. The church's encouragement can feel like criticism, especially for young Moms. It isn't. There are so many enticing arguments and so many are loosing this struggle. It isn't easy or even clear sometimes.... no TRADES or SHORTCUTS on the journey of finding your very own, perfectly divine Self
Here’s what I don’t get, it’s a tradition to do it the way it has been done. No one’s required to do a baby blessing for a new born. Why does she want to be special? Like I don’t understand why challenge the tradition? Who cares?

Equal does not mean you do the same thing. The left side cannot be on the right side. A scale has two sides one for what is to be weighed the other is counter weight. This is balanced.
Except it isn’t balanced. Hence why Utah ranks the lowest in equality. You can’t give one person a sword and the other a sewing kit and say they’re equal in power.
Very well said. Even the guru sadahguru was talking about this. Hence why they bring two hands together in prayer position and placed by the heart representing right and left combining together.
Your argument is about how the father holds the child, and male relatives stand around him while he, the father gives a blessing asking God to help their child throughout their life and because you don’t stand there for that 5 minutes, that makes you beneath him or unequal? You gave birth to the baby, you knew the baby better than it’s father did before it was born. My husband was jealous I got to have that and he didn’t. That’s not unequal. Men & women are different. We have different roles. Just because a man has something or a woman has something doesn’t make it unequal for the opposite sex. Why aren’t you concerned about the fact your husband can’t lay beside you and give birth too? Or breastfeed? Is it inequality when female officers are used in domestic violence situations? Females are generally better at diffusing a situation than men are, Is that inequality because female officers are better at domestic situations? You chose your words to gather the most sympathy & impact without giving the entirety of the story. This channel has nothing to do with the gospel of Jesus Christ. It’s here only to make money, and we all know the best way to make money is to gaslight people with lies. If everyone found out for themselves whenever their told something, channels like yours would have no views. Women of God are the strongest women you will ever meet.
Well said. It's hard to comment against people that are fueled with emotion and "passion". Understanding is found slowly, through desire and action, with meekness. Anyone looking here for it will likely be mistaken.
women are still refused the authority and opportunity to bless their children. you can’t claim equality in value no matter how much you argue. men are viewed as superior becauae it's a patriarchal religion.
We have redefined all of the isms to a point that everyone is confused. Being great in your sphere is where happiness and fulfillment lie. You can't throw up the ball for tipoff in your son's basketball game either. Structures that give us so much need some rules, or they cease to exist.
I am a man. I grew up in the church. I was taught that in the celestial kingdom that there would be polygamy. So in the best place to be for eternity, many more women qualify. That seems unequal towards men. create a gender who fails to get the highest eternal happiness than another gender seems inherently unfair. The Mormon God obviously favors women.
@@chlyri Polygamy in the celestial kingdom and the need to be married in the celestial kingdom means necessarily that the celestial kingdom has more women than men. So if the celestial kingdom has more women than men, and righteousness is necessary to get into the celestial kingdom, then women on average are more righteous.
How can you be treated equally, if you're not the same as a man? You think differently, you feel differently, you act differently, you have different priorities and values, and you're physiologically dimorphic...what made you think you'd be entitled to be treated as a man when you are anything but? Giving you sad, irrational, entitled little creatures was our forefathers' gravest mistake...and both genders are paying for it. Poor thing.
and here we have a chief example of a cult mindset. we can still be given the same opportunities, even if we think differently. that's not irrational entitlement, and calling us "things" doesn't make you or the church look good.
Yes you do have value . But it also depends on the value you give and wanna take . Man & Woman equality is rooted in their different strengths and roles . Or have more than 1 hubby? According to Brenda, a woman's purpose is to accept the fact that she is "less than" and do whatever the high and mighty men tell them to do. I have to call BS on that one!

GOD SAID MULTIPLY AND REPLENISH THE EARTH, catholic priest cannot marry, , not by choice but because they are told not to
The funny thing is now (in the LDS Church) Women are treated as not only being equals (but often even put on a pedestal, and then to the detriment of men) Often the men are put down (inside the church), told they aren't as "good" or not as faithful as women and are bad.
Women have Never been treated as equal to a man in the Mormon cult.
That is bullcrap. I held both my babies during their blessing.

Another lapdog. Cringe 😬 🤮 women don’t respect simps.
She is exactly correct
Her value as a mother or how well she is a mother has nothing to do with wanting to participate in her baby's blessing. Dont let them bring you down sweetie!
it does have to do with her value as a person in the church.
Many bishops have the mother stand and be honored when a baby is blessed. This isn't a personal attack. I just see things differently than you.
@@joybischoff9558not enough. it should be a standard practice so that everyone sees it happen. and women should be able to bless their children.

It isn't easy or even clear sometimes.... no TRADES or SHORTCUTS on the journey of finding your very own, perfectly divine Self
the "less than" culture stems from the doctrine. if a woman cannot hold the same authority as a man, she is viewed as less than. it's that simple.
Here’s what I don’t get, it’s a tradition to do it the way it has been done. No one’s required to do a baby blessing for a new born. Why does she want to be special? Like I don’t understand why challenge the tradition? Who cares?
because it's sexist and we're in an was where women want equal opportunities.
That's not even true everyone is treated the same. I'm talking about in the work price. I'm a ex Mormon women are treated differently they need to be treated equally because God has created
women are not treated the same. simple fact.
Just like in Christ day we see the culture is the issue not the docterine of Christ. If you understand the Temple Endowment than you know Women share the Preisthood. When I leave the house for work my Wife is the decision maker, leads the prayers, and leads the family til I return. I think we misunderstand that there is the Atonement and it applies to everyone no matter what Gender. The Adversary likes to divide because it halts Christ Work and makes us miserable unto himself.
but women can't give blessings, and they will never be equal with men in the leadership. the culture stems from the doctrine, they aren't independent.

Women don't need to hold the priesthood. They are equal, but with different duties. Always certain types of individuals who feel the need to complain. Satan started with Eve and he's still manipulating women.

I am a man. I grew up in the church. I was taught that in the celestial kingdom that there would be polygamy. So in the best place to be for eternity, many more women qualify. That seems unequal towards men. create a gender who fails to get the highest eternal happiness than another gender seems inherently unfair. The Mormon God obviously favors women.
um.. no. that's heavily false.
@@chlyri Give me your evidence that the church doesn't have polygamy in the celestial kingdom?
@@chlyri Polygamy in the celestial kingdom and the need to be married in the celestial kingdom means necessarily that the celestial kingdom has more women than men. How can you be treated equally, if you're not the same as a man? You think differently, you feel differently, you act differently, you have different priorities and values, and you're physiologically dimorphic...what made you think you'd be entitled to be treated as a man when you are anything but?
