I recently lost both my father and my stepfather, and I ended up with many objects they left. I decided to "archive" them into some storage boxes and take notes in a spreadsheet with their location, the person they were attached to, and any stories associated with them. It's been very cool to try to remember what the special points were about each item and connect with other family members to help fill in the gaps.

How do I validate a story about a family heirloom...can DNA be pulled off of heirlooms from the early 1800"s?

I put my photos in a album of their own. Then when I visit or someone comes to my home. I can show them this album and ask if they know any of these person. It works great. Now I have names for some of my photos.

@@joycesmithers2093 The photos can also be given to a antique shop. There is also a website they can be scanned to for others to view. Sorry but I do not remember the website, I learned of it last year at rootstock.
