Burndt Jamb is my favorite song to play on guitar and yes, Matt was not on this record but this is Scott Shriner's first album with Weezer 🎉
Love maladroit and how nasty it sounds, a gem in their discog. 😌
Loved Maladroit. Solid album. Always surprised it wasn't mentioned more often.
Very overlooked by most people. I really enjoy it, a top 5 album of theirs IMO
Literally my favorite Weezer album. Slave is my favorite song
Slave is in my top 10 weezer songs of all time
After Maladroit most of Weezer's albums have gotten pretty mixed reactions, apart from Everything Will Be Alright in the End (which kind of has metal influences like this album but it's not as heavy), the White Album (which Rivers says is a reimagined Blue Album sound), and OK Human (which has classical instrumentation).
Death and destruction is my favorite song of all time.
Please react to the rest of their discovery, I feel you will find something to appreciate on every album
This
I rediscovered this album thanks to you =) I remember being so disappointed by this when it came out and I don't know why, it's great!
I'd love to see you react to 'Everything Will Be Alright in the End', 'The White Album' and 'OK Human' as well, those are three really good more recent Weezer albums.
Easily in the top 3 with their first 2 albums.
My favorite tracks are: Take Control, Slob, Space Rock, and Slave
If you plan on continuing with Weezer reactions, please "Make Believe" their next album didn't exist and skip it.
The Red album has some really unique tracks for the band, so it's worth checking out.
But more than anything else I'd recommend the "White" album, the newer "OK Human" and 2010's "Hurley"
Maladroit is one of my fave albums, Tony🤘🏻
Hoping you will also listen to Make Believe and The Red Album, I personally consider those 2 to be some of my favorites. There are so many gems contained within
so glad to see others appreciate make believe lol people always shit on it but its so catchy honestly
Man I killed Make Believe playing it so much. Just hearing the name makes me think of 2005 sophomore year, grabbing my non-skip sony discman, and walking to catch the school bus in the morning. That album was better than people made it out to be.
Awesome review! I’d love to see you react to Hum’s Downward is Heavenward and Failure’s Fantastic Planet!
Literally the two best space rock albums ever and just about the two best albums of the 90's I second both of these hard
Fun fact, I did some listening and research, and actually the entire album has smooth transitions except for Dope Nose and Keep Fishin. They're really subtle, but they're there.
for a second, 6:10, i thought he said, "you know i am loving NONE of these songs"
Same
Maladroit!!! Perhaps tied with Pinkerton as my favorite of the catalog
Hope if you react to Make Believe (next album) you like it. I personally do it, but it is one of the most overhated albums in the weezer fandom. Anyway, you can give it a try, it could be interesting.
i’ve waited for this for so long! hopefully you continue with more Weezer album reactions. also, you’re correct about Matt not being present. he left after Pinkerton, with Mikey Welsh replacing him as bassist for Green. Maladroit has Scott Shriner, who is their bassist to this day and has performed on all records since then.
I really love your reaction videos. Can’t wait to watch this one! I’ve especially loved all of your Smashing Pumpkins videos. Please either react to “Is This It” by The Strokes or “The Balcony” by Catfish and the Bottlemen! They are such great indie rock albums, and “Is This It” is such a classic album! I think you’ll like it😊
Already a fan of the Strokes, but thanks for the suggestions!
I'm currently doing a deep dive for The Strokes' discography in my spanish channel, Helado Alternativo. I've covered in depth Is This It and Room On Fire in case you wanna watch those videos too. Cheers!
P.s: I've heard C&TB too, but their kind of a hit or miss for me🤷🏻♂️
@@tonywhitburn Okay, no problem! Haha I like your other channel name. I’m just glad you’re a Strokes fan lol! If you’re interested, please check out or do an album reaction to The Voidz! They do a lot of experimental rock and post-punk. I think you’ll like some of their stuff. 😄
Este disco se lo compró mi hermano al momento que salió, mis recuerdos de muchacho de 12 años escuchandolo los sabados a la mañana, y las navidades por varios años. Excelente album y muy solido.
THANK YOU!!!!
This is the oft ignored treasure in Weezer's catalog. Glad you enjoyed it.
Loving these Weezer videos. You should check out Suede, particularly their album Dog Man Star. They are the Smiths meets David Bowie, and Dog Man Star is a masterpiece.
Hell yeah! One of Weezer’s best albums imo. Every song kinda slaps and it’s sound is nothing like anything else on their catalogue.
If you're looking for more weezer albums that are really quality listens I'd definitely say to check out EWBAITE and the white album next, looking forward to more videos!
Raditude and Pacific Daydream are way better
@@rike94 most definitely
i hope you keep reacting to the rest of the weezer discopraphy!
the main lesson to take away from this one is that even if a weezer album sucks, the next one could be something completely different. In fact, if you're gonna keep reacting in chronological order you've got another stinker coming up, (make believe) but after that it's red album time, one of my personal favourite weezer albums.
Everyone always rags on Make Believe but I think it’s solid personally, Perfect Situation and all the deep cuts are pretty good IMO
I like Make Believe. "Hold Me" is one of their best songs, and there are a few other bangers on there, as well.
@@devenscience8894 haunt you every day is an incredible closer. Its tone resembles its name. It's haunting and beautiful.
Make believe is really good
been waiting for this one, such an underrated album. Always wondered if the album's title/album art affected its chances for commercial success
One of my favourite Weezer albums! Fantastic!
Please review make believe, I don’t care if it’s a bad album you must listen to it.
You should react to Make Believe for April fools 2023 lol
I really hope this is the plan for april fools 2023 now 😭
Four words: The. Final. Sacrifice. Swans. Is it too much to ask to see *someone* react to the best song off of Soundtracks??? I'd say the entire album, but I think Tony would only like half of the songs. Soundtracks would make a good 10k sub special, though.
id like any swans from him tbh
Please listen to some king gizzard and the lizard wizard, it's one my current favorite bands and their diversity is insane. They have some of the most widespread catalogues out there with around 20 studio albums out since 2011.
I'd recommend starting out with nonagon infinity, murder of the universe or I'm in your mind fuzz I'd you want some nice flow and energy.
If you're going to react to any more Weezer, I'd recommend maybe trying Make Believe and if that record doesn't do it for you, skip to maybe Hurley or at least Everything Will Be Alright in The End, and then White Album, and finish it off with OK Human. Everything else is really at your discretion, in my opinion.
I really want to know your reaction on their album make believe, some hate it, some like it
Reaction to Telekinesis - 12 desperate straight lines. An hippo campus - Bambi
React to their best album this century, Raditude
have you listened to unwound? if not you should definitely react to either leaves turn inside you or new plastic ideas. amazing post hardcore, very ambitious.
Can you do Adore by Smashing Pumpkins?
React to Hum’s newest album, Inlet!
React to just for a day by slowdive
Awesome
Can you react to soundtracks for the blind by swans? Its super interesting, a absolutely fantastic 2 and a half hour long masterpiece
Please do Frank Black "Teenager of the Year"
what country are you from :) good reaction
I Love Weezer
Hi Tony
At this point I think you can skip most of the other Weezer records but I'd say White Album is another one that is worth checking out
December is the best song
