The world, the U.K. and especially carp fishing is infested with opinionated clueless bellends. Good on you for making the efforts to put these vids up.
Brilliant opening few minutes mark , RUclips attracts a special type of commentator, it proves the old adage, there’s no cure for stupid. Good vid mate
Great video 👍🏻 I purchased the XF2 standard with porch + groundsheet + Mozimesh door & what abit of kit , withstands strong winds plenty of room & no crouching down any more so much easier on the back, I’ve put the Nash emperor across the back & there’s still plenty of space for all the other bits we take on them long sessions , all in all a top quality product & like everything else in life you get what you pay for ... tight lines ...
I’ve come to this from having checked out OZ tents as a mature camper looking for tents that can put up quickly. You mentioned that you sold the OZ tent to fund the RM purchase I wondered what made this a better option for yourself. It’s always good to see honest reviews of pieces of kit.
Nice bit of kit mate, forget the toxic haters. A friend has the same bivvy with the porch he is disabled and takes his wife fishing and uses it in the UK. They use the porch for their kitchen. Great informative videos.
Just blind purchased the xf2 standard with porch after watching this. Im hoping the bivvy fits two Indulgance beds in the back so I can use the porch as a kitchen. Great upload mate.
Awesome review with with honest pro's/con's. I've ordered mine tonight, fishing is more than just catching fish for me, its a break away and I like to feel comfortable. Ticks my boxes.
Great video thank you. I have a cunning plan for my camping holidays in the future. I don’t fish just to be clear. But a fishing style bivvy is something I thought about a few months ago. I am touring around the uk in July and August and will be at several campsites along the way. Traditional tents are fine, but take quite awhile to set up, what with the common pole systems and guy ropes all taking time. Why not a fishing bivvy I thought? Anyway now discovering Ridgemonkey and in particular the 2 man……👍👍👍
Thanks for uploading mate, i have no intention of buying the bivvy for personal reasons not worth mentioning here as I am sure youve heard them a million times before but always have and always will follow each and every bit of gear to hit the market, loved the review. It felt genuine and sincere and was not pushing the product in any ones face or forcing anything with a biased feel. Nice one o/
Yeah, that's the spirit.... Our tent fits 4 person or 2 2person fishing beds :)) and our tent wieghs 23 kg. We once were in a gale storm :)), tend was pegged with 30 pegs and 10 stones......rods packed and put between tent and overwharp...... Slept well that night, in the morning the sun was up and clear skies with no damage, box design too. Ours gets put up in 10-15 minutes too, but when you're going fishing for 4-7 days, that's silly fast. Besides that, you can''t play gin or rummy in a tempest :)), neither can you sit up in it, so for us tall guys, small tents is a no go.
It's a sad state of affairs when you have to justify a RUclips video of a bivvy and delete comments etc. Looks like a great bit of kit. Nice vid matey 👌
Thank you, mark ! It helped me watching you doing these videos ! Im looking to get it for very longtern stays. Had plenty of tents over the years and I really like this boxy look and porch. Just wished they made it in green as well ! I just want something solid and homey for a basecamp as I live and stay for many month in tents every year. I dont have the usual questions on weight, size and set up, but can you tell me about its proformance in hotter and colder weather ???? I have a Crua outdoor TRI that I love apart from that it is not high enough to stand up and not the kind of big porch area like you got there. Would really appriciate ANY comment on how its feel in different weather. Does it get TOO hot in 25 summer plus celcius and above or is it like crua better tent at protecting against both cold and heat than other tents you used ? I can say the Crua TRI does a great job at both and had it for 4 years. Any recommendations on this ridgemonkey XF2 tent the now after 2 years ? Best greeetings from denmark, Mark !
Hi Mark, Thanks for the honest review of the Rigemonkey bivvy. Like you I take my wife to France and we are looking for a shelter to comfortably accommodate both of us. I’m watching your video today 09/07/23 and was just curious to know have you used it yet in France with your wife and if so are there any bits you would recommend to purchase on top of the main two parts. Did it come up to expectations. Great video very well presented and gave use both a good insight into product. Many Thanks Ian Stone
Cheers Ian and thanks for your comment. I've used it several times since purchasing it, however to be honest the wife hasn't been with me. There is plenty of space for 2 bed chairs and a little table between then. Having the porch does give you a lot more space for cooking, dressing etc.
I have watched both videos and found them very informative. It looks like a strong and spacious tent. Exactly what I'm looking for. So thank you so much.
Brilliant vid Mark and well put in the opening few minutes. I've the exact same model & system and like you go to France on a regular basis 3 times a year including taking my wife on one of those trips. we have actually just come back from a trip and used this for a week....it was fantastic, loads of room, comfy, stood up to a couple of fierce storms & winds without skipping a beat. This is designed for those longer trips in mind not for karting around your local syndicate at the weekend !!
Great video mate, nice to see an ordinary angler putting it up other than the company, and like you say ideal for a weeks fishing, got a brollie for over nights here. Well done mate, 👍🏻👍🏻
Enjoyed the vid and your retort to nonsense comments was spot on, "some people hear but don't listen eh". Being a tackle tart, I think its a great bit of kit and would love one. However, my short stay type of fishing doesn't warrant it; plus if my wife saw that she would instantly know it looks nothing like my normal bivvy, check up the price and demand a visit to the nearest Hermes handbag retailer. Anyway enjoy it and post how you get on.
Take no notice of idiots that didn’t watch the full vlog or didn’t take noice of what you said. It’s perfect for big french waters and long sessions. It wouldn’t work for my kind of fishing but I still found it interesting to see it put up! Look a great bit of kit for your kind of fishing and a really good watch 👍🎣
Hi Mark, had to chuckle at video 1 regarding instructions etc. I applaud you for the second video, don’t worry about stupid comments from people who have an IQ hovering around room temperature. There are plenty of carp anglers who want to see these types of videos who are looking to purchase for exactly the same reason you bought one. Your videos as mentioned in part1 are not always in abundance and I would always be guided by these over any manufacturers video for obvious reasons. Great video mate and for such a big bivvy to be frame up in 3.30 minutes is impressive. Keep up the good work in the vids. I’d like to see if that fits on the island at the might bow.
Defo went up quicker this time mark and to be honest I love a lot of ridgemonkeys products I just think that the price of these Bivvys is ridiculous but as you said each to their own tight lines 🎣 👍🏼
A very honest review and I like the part 1 recap bits 😆 thanks for doing it mate, Part 1 was clear enough there’s always keyboard warriors mate no matter the platform 👍 looking forward to other vids you do
Excellent video ! Best one on RUclips re xf2 ! I’m looking forward to using the porch on mine as I didn’t have the extra porch when in France ! Well made film and added to the other one gives a good all round review on bivvy Thanks again
My Mrs saw the first video & she said that we need to get one!!! We haven’t fished abroad! She didn’t even baulk at the cost either. She changed her mind when I told her she had to carry it if we did when she found out the weight of it😂 Until then she says we will stick with separate bivvy’s
Was thinking about the 1 man compact as a replacement for my currant bivvy after seeing all the loose poles that have to be fitted and the peg size issue that back fly sheet comes out too far. think the avid two rib would suit me better, cheers for the review.
I've got this same setup! After spending a wet week in france in a 2 man bivvy not being able to stand up and getting a touch of cabin fever! I bought this and its raining again in france and I'm stood in front of my bay window (lol) with a beer! I know some people will say THATS NOT CARP FISHING! well as far as I'm concerned carp fishing starts at the hook and ends at the reel. And anyone can be uncomfortable!!!!
Great vid Thanks for the help .. thinking of getting the xf2 compact .. hopefully will fit on the island 😉 One question if I may .. how is the front attached to the ground sheet ..( worries about those mice and koipuh)
Glad you enjoyed it mate, should be enough room mate. A couple of friends of mine have had the Oztent RV4 on there and the compact is the same size. The front is attached with velcro mate. 👍👍
Thank you Mark for your vidio and setup ! Can you tell me how it feel now after longterm use i term of the feel and temperature inside in wet colder weather and also sunny hot weather as for inner climate ? I saw a vidio where he experienced bad dripping of water inside in humid suummertime in it ? Can you confirm or was it a malfunction ?or falulty tent ? I have the kodiak canvas tent which is solid cotten and very good inner temperature control, and also own the crua outdoor tri for colder weather...the tri is amazing for colder but lacks more sidecross air to be perfect. Their new bigger look to have fixed this for summer use, but else they are super. I look to upgrade to have also a standard high houselike tent for longterm use in summer and this looked the part, but was too worried about condensation to yet go for it. Whats your verdict now on this ridgemonkey 2standard bivvy with the nice front room ? It sure looks great but I am torn between ridgemonkey, a larger cabintent from kodiak canvas import or a bigger crua outdoor. All for longer term use, so dont mind the bulk, and would love a tent that does not get too hot or challanges with condensation as we get in denmark. So far the crua solved many problems and stays hot in shoulder season, but the tiny house size of ridgemonkey look to be comfortable. Hope to hear from anybody who have tried this tent on pros and cons. Thank you.
Great video Mark, you do get a particular type of troll on YT. I agree with you, brilliant bit of kit. Ridgemonkey are definitely trying to position themselves as the go to Gold standard of quality for Carp fishing products.
Looked a lot easier the 2nd time, apart from the porch, and whilst it's a monster it's ideal for the continent, as you said. If I'm honest it's takes me just as long to get my fox ultra brolly up, once I've finessed it, but the space and height is mental, keep practising and your set up pb time will get better. Tight lines
Bought the xf2 compact with porch extension. How heavy are these 😂😂. Overall very happy only disappointment was the mozzie net was defective didn't fit and no replacements in stock. Overall lovely bit of kit though
Oh & thanks for the sub ten minute reply......you had the balls to review it......big man👍...struggles & all brilliant...kept going & humble not many of use left
Brilliant video Best bivvy on the market for long sessions which they are designed for not the best for an over nighter which they aren’t designed for 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Hi Mark, great video and can only imagine the comments you received for your first video, could feel your frustration.....a few odd ones on this also to be honest. I am in the market for a RM XF2 but can't decide weather to get a compact one or the standard. Have you seen the compact in the flesh, is it a lot smaller than your standard one. Also, someone posted a video on your tube about their one leaking and suffering terribly from condensation in colder weather. Just wondering, two years on how have you found yours? Thanks in advance for the videos....watched your one on Parco and really enjoyed that.......... went in December with a mate and really like the lake. Cheers, Kevin
Hi Mark great Vid thanks. Bought mine and got it three days before a french trip so winged it putting it up lol. What a great bit of kit though for euro sessions. Maybe a silly question but do you think the porch could also be set up to stand alone? just thinking about potential versatility as a stand alone gazebo if it was all guy roped out etc. Probably not but would appreciate your thought. Thanks again very useful to watch. Simon
Well done not everyone's cup of tea if I was going to France fishing a lot I would definitely get one they look amazing bit of kit.if you got the money whynot get wot you won't mark life is to short to worry about wot people think there is a lot of jealousy in this world.tight lines mark enjoy 👍👍
I have an oztent. I love it but always look for an improvement. The tub floor on this tent doesn’t look as robust, have you had a chance to test it in water?
Well said I still use the cocoon with a porch very solid and lots of room but each to there own dont think rm for me but great video and why you answering topeople about the price you like it get it i like the cocoon and till the time comes I will get a t3 with extension so if I want extra room I can have it
Would love to see a video of the main bivvy being put down ,,i have the xf1 compact ,,and want to know which side of the door way you fold away first left or right ,,1 or 2
Just watched an youve bomb barred with people commenting b4 they watch or more importantly listen, gotta laugh lol well handled... Happy new year an tight lines wet nets 2021🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣
Like you said these designed are for the long stay angler. However, I hate watching some reviews of bivvy's where the sponsored angler puts it up in a couple of minutes, unlike your film, their films start with the bivvy already unboxed, out of their bag and very loosely half folded on the ground. That being said my next bivvy will be a pump up one, but i will connect a small battery powered pump i use for an airbed pump connected to a Makita battery so I can watch the shelter go up while I make a brew.
They do look awesome but for me personally it's too big and heavy and probably wont fit on my barrow! I go for 3/4 nights at a time. I was using your vid to give me an understanding of what it was like. Not everyone goes to France. If I did I'd probably get one. Great vid mate👍
Nice work once you get hang of it it’s ok I leave my extension all zipped and pack away whole and rebuild as whole unit recon I can get my xf2 up in under 10 minutes these days 😜
Hi mate, glad you liked it. It's something like these www.gooutdoors.co.uk/15903919/streetwize-60-cm-floor-tiles-x-15903919/?istCompanyId=c2ec8a5d-93c1-4850-a97a-f4d89d7c99c8&istFeedId=2755fba0-7dfe-46a9-bfd0-09b37aed8b93&istItemId=wapiiqqri&istBid=t&gclid=CjwKCAjw-qeFBhAsEiwA2G7Nl8UCwEF36aMeueqQrN2dCrKjBZsAJ9wDWWSS1WExf6XO6HlJFDXhchoCQaYQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
Nice 1 Mark what a turn around from the 1st video at least I didn't have to have a shower after watching this 1 lol 😅 last 1 u had me sweating. Anyhow I totally agree with what you said about the arse holes there is no need for it Looking 4ward to seeing the video of it in France cheers for that keep the videos coming. 👍👍
I do at least one 10 day session every year. I’m looking for a bivvy I can stand up in to dress, room for a 4’x2’ table for stove and food prep, well ventilated but seals up tight from the elements. Will this do what I’m looking for?
I have a two man fox eclipse from 1937 which shows the you value of large bivvies for long euro sessions so I entirely understand your use of this :) 👍👍
@@markhorspoolcarpfishing9278 it feels like it pal ;) I think its probably 15 years old but I think the next time I go to France, I had better do a garden rain test in case the material has broken down. I once went on a camping holiday with an old frame tent that hadn't been used for years. First night, literally p1ssed in. Had to leave the site and find a local lodge to stay in :P
Why are ridgemonkey so obsessed with making everything sqare, anyway I'm getting one of them cos it looks the perfect size for parking my mini clubman in ,il be under my brolly and my mini will be tucked up in the ridgemonkey, thanks for your help
The world, the U.K. and especially carp fishing is infested with opinionated clueless bellends. Good on you for making the efforts to put these vids up.
barbel fishing is the same as well, loads of half witted goons
Brilliant opening few minutes mark , RUclips attracts a special type of commentator, it proves the old adage, there’s no cure for stupid. Good vid mate
Great video 👍🏻 I purchased the XF2 standard with porch + groundsheet + Mozimesh door & what abit of kit , withstands strong winds plenty of room & no crouching down any more so much easier on the back, I’ve put the Nash emperor across the back & there’s still plenty of space for all the other bits we take on them long sessions , all in all a top quality product & like everything else in life you get what you pay for ... tight lines ...
Well done Mark I thought you did a great job explaining this bivvy perfect for France mate👍
Top quality video Mark
Great bit of kit for the right waters 👍
Great video thank you. I have a cunning plan for my camping holidays in the future. I don’t fish just to be clear. But a fishing style bivvy is something I thought about a few months ago.
Cheers mate. Some small minded people out there. Think they are called Trolls! 🤡
Best demo I’ve seen yet definitely hasn’t put me off from getting one Just wish Ridgemonkey did what you’ve just done
thanks for taking the time to do that mark..
Great video mate, nice to see an ordinary angler putting it up other than the company, and like you say ideal for a weeks fishing, got a brollie for over nights here. Well done mate, 👍🏻👍🏻
Just ordered mine after watching your vids mark. cheers

Well done mark! Couldn’t show how it’s done any better.👍🏼 if you need any help putting it up at rainbow next time you’re there gis a shout!!😂
Great bit of kit for the job that you bought it for.
I love your lecture, and good for you for choosing what you want. So many people think they own other people it’s offensive.
Thanks for the review
Well done Mark! Still waiting to put mine for the first time...Thanks for the tips. See you at the 🌈
Glad you enjoyed it Thomas, one day ill be back hopefully. 👍🌈
Great Tent if you want to have it comfortaly . Also a very Good Video. Greatings from Germany.

Best video I've seen relating to the bivvy, hands on, honest, well done.
I know some people will say THATS NOT CARP FISHING! well as far as I'm concerned carp fishing starts at the hook and ends at the reel. And anyone can be uncomfortable!!!!
Great vid
Thanks for the help .. thinking of getting the xf2 compact .. hopefully will fit on the island 😉
One question if I may .. how is the front attached to the ground sheet ..( worries about those mice and koipuh)
Tight lines
Loved the first video Mark and this is just as good, very informative and an honest review.
No point lying about things just to make products sound better than they are or to make a name for yourself. Glad you enjoyed it mate. 💪👍
For the size of the bivvy i dont think it takes long to build at all tbh. Comfort is the main thing for those large bivvy's. Great vid
Love the video and thank you I’m going for the xf1 in march
Again brilliant review
Brilliant video Best bivvy on the market for long sessions which they are designed for not the best for an over nighter which they aren’t designed for 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Huge bivvy with the porch, would fit 2 people very easy on a long trip away
Great video ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Outstanding. really enjoyed an honest review. Thanks
You don’t have to justify yourself Mark to the negative idiotic comments , you wanted one , you bought one , looks a nice piece of kit , good video 👍
I thought your review was really good, clear and great review. Thanks for sharing mike
I’ve got a Nash gazebo & just love it but this looks like a quality bit of kit maybe next year
Hi Mark, great video and can only imagine the comments you received for your first video, could feel your frustration.....a few odd ones on this also to be honest. 😂👌🤝 brilliant video,, and even washed it down with a can of Stella. AKA the wife-beater. All the best with your fishing when you go.
Hi Mark great Vid thanks. Bought mine and got it three days before a french trip so winged it putting it up lol. What a great bit of kit though for euro sessions. Yes Mark! All the keyboard warriors giving large 🤦♂️ If i went long session carpin i'd defo grab one those 100%. Top vid 👍

Would be nice to see more reviews from you mate.
Thank you mate. Really kind of you to say so. 👍👍👍
Thanking you Mark from one to another do what wright for you...
Nice work once you get hang of it it’s ok I leave my extension all zipped and pack away whole and rebuild as whole unit recon I can get my xf2 up in under 10 minutes these days 😜
Mark, thank you for this 1:1 demo. You use a perforated mat to put the RM XF2 on. What is it? Thank you.
Hi mate, glad you liked it. It's something like these www.gooutdoors.co.uk/15903919/streetwize-60-cm-floor-tiles-x-15903919/?istCompanyId=c2ec8a5d-93c1-4850-a97a-f4d89d7c99c8&istFeedId=2755fba0-7dfe-46a9-bfd0-09b37aed8b93&istItemId=wapiiqqri&istBid=t&gclid=CjwKCAjw-qeFBhAsEiwA2G7Nl8UCwEF36aMeueqQrN2dCrKjBZsAJ9wDWWSS1WExf6XO6HlJFDXhchoCQaYQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

Hello from Ukraine ! I think you have a lot of tents .. Which one is the best in your opinion? Or maybe there are several?
Love it bro could host a wedding reception in there 😁
Nice 1 Mark what a turn around from the 1st video at least I didn't have to have a shower after watching this 1 lol 😅 last 1 u had me sweating.

What is the height of opening? I'm 6ft looks tall which I want. Cheers
Great vlog would love one 👍
I do at least one 10 day session every year. I’m looking for a bivvy I can stand up in to dress, room for a 4’x2’ table for stove and food prep, well ventilated but seals up tight from the elements. Will this do what I’m looking for?
Hi, can I ask how tall you are? Trying to gauge size. Thanks
I have a two man fox eclipse from 1937 which shows the you value of large bivvies for long euro sessions so I entirely understand your use of this :) 👍👍
1937! Wow that is an old bivvy! Lol 👍👍
Good on you mate it’s your dollar spend it on what makes you happy
Love your work mate 👍 keep it up 👌
Will u get 2 nash wide boys in there ? Not decided on this one or the xf2 compact
Hi mate. Would probably fit but would only leave you a small gap between beds
Purchased on ur recommendation thanx 👍
