I live in Bhopal ,just 1 km from Union Carbide industry where gas plant leaked, and i know what are the consequences when you don't take environment seriously ,still today many people who have experienced BHOPAL GAS TRAGEDY demands compensation from the govt, in 1984 the local people where not even given 15% compensation of what they demanded, ,when you don't respect environment ,it will hit you back in the hardest manner possible, i am today living in a middle class family ,in a good colony ,neither i am affected by the thousands of those who were demanding money today, but as a responsible citizen ,it is my duty to spread awareness among our fellow citizens , and i personally feel that people of bhopal should get justice as soon as possible . In the end i just want to request you all ,please take environment seriously ,otherwise don't expect good from the environment ,nature's fury is evident everywhere. Post facto clearance जैसा कोई लूप होल ना बनाया जाए जैसा कि 1 अप्रैल 2020 का माननीय सर्वोच्च न्यायालय का भी आदेश है। 4. जनता को अपने आस पड़ोस के पर्यावरण के विरूद्ध चल रही घटनाओं पर कंप्लेंट करने का अधिकार होना चाहिए ताकि समय रहते पर्यावरण को नुकसान से बचाया जाए। 5. 20000 वर्ग मीटर से अधिक का भूभाग ईआईए 2020 के अंदर होना चाहिए। जिस प्रकार सरकार जैव ईंधन के बजाय एलपीजी कनेक्शन को बढ़ावा देकर पर्यावरण को स्वच्छ रखना चाहती है उसी प्रकार उपर्युक्त आपत्तियों पर भी ध्यान दिया जाए। सरकार की पहली प्राथमिकता पर्यावरण होना चाहिए ना की अंधाधुंध विकास। "हमने विश्व को अपने पूर्वजों से उत्तराधिकार में प्राप्त नहीं किया है बल्कि हमने इसे आने वाली पीढ़ी से उधार लिया है।"

Construction should be allowed near national parks , wetlands whatever the consequences may be but development aise hi toh hoga . Why should we even see the Nordic countries like Sweden, Denmark who are completely switching to renewable energy sources and doing the best for environment protection and showing the rest of the world how to do that but ya they don't have world class facilities. The projects which govt classifies as strategic might destruct a lot of biodiversity and the people who'll be most affected will be the tribal people and they don't know anything about their rights so they can't complain also but who cares we need the world class facilities and we don't bother whatever happens to environment. Oil India limited in tinsukia was an example of the world class factories set up near Dibru Saikhowa National Park and a wetland . It was disastrous for ecology of that area dolphins were effected . Moreover experts from Singapore were not able to control the fire but who cares we need oil and for that factories are needed and these incidents take place and they aren't a big deal .

I have done my job as I sent strong opposition letter to MOEFCC for draft policy to remove citizen complain from the list. Industries must understand that natural resources not only belong to human but to all species. Natural resources are not anybody's private property to exploit.
The problems are 1. Post Facto clearance 1a. No information for strategic projects in Public review. 2. Bi-yearly compliance reports to Yearly compliance 3. Public Hearing removed from many important industrial and Construction projects. 4. Time of Public Hearing notice reduced to just 20 days 5. Construction projects don't have to get clearance upto project with area less than 1.5 Lakh sqm 6. Most absurd: Reporting cant be done by citizens. It can only be done by Govt approved party, client of Govt itself. In case the project proponent does some disobediences from EC norms they should come out by themselves and pay the fine otherwise if govt. Finds out they will double the fine. 7. The season for monitoring is reduced to just 2 mine months. Earlier it was 3 months.
Can you please tell the following points that are out pointed by you as per the given EIA report which helps us in giving suggestions as it is a government work so we have to give reference of the official proposed report such as the strategic tag point is on page 9 of 83 point 7 If you give such details then it will be quite effective in giving suggestions and large mass of people can better understand with better explanation

Hi Sir! Can you share the snippet where expansion of national highways has been listed as an exemption? I can see it inside the list of projects requiring Prior EC. Maybe I am missing something here.
First Vishakhapatnam styrene gas leak happened in LG polymer company due to lack of maintenance in corona period. Second petro gas leak in Assam happened during maintenance and repair work can be a humane error. In one hand we can not afford delays in important projects due to wested interest of some bureaucrats and NGOs. In other hand we have to protect land, air, water, forest from pollution and inordinant consumptions. We need balance in both. I also want that complaints from common peoples especially near the location should be allowed and penalties in enviornmental norm violation should be at least 25% of the company's annual income as per national average of particular kind of work and environmental damage. Law should be affirm and make a list on which work should consider as strategic. Alloction, permission and application process should be online and fast track as per set guidelines. Norms and promotional loction for manufacturing of API and electronics industries should be consider in prefacto rules.
This is actually the result of our own mistakes..this would not have happened if we had not choosen Mr. MODI( becoz in india there is prime ministrial form of govt. Not the parlimentary form )...

@@richardv.r6566 Guys I have Framed a message showing our Concern & an objection regards the Draft of 2020, you may read/edit and further send it Officially to the Government Our Environment is Our Responsibility and being a responsible citizens of this nation I object on the new rules, kindly do not 'By pass the environment' by neglecting it. The EIA norms are already Less Effective & new norms are more Liberal & By passing the Safety as well. Objectionable Points - 1) No solution for political and bureaucratic stronghold on the EIA process. Instead it proposes to increase the government's discretionary power and limiting public engagement in safeguarding environment. Project except defence also given strategic tag, and later not option any information regarding the project on public domain, which decreases the transparency and may cause false use and harm the environment. 2) Giving many exemptions in the building of instruction infrastructure near the LAC to area of 100 kilometres within the countries territory, that will cover all of the northeastern Indian territory, which will harm the biodiversity of the north east region as there is more stress on the construction of infrastructure suggest roadways. Cutting of trees harming the biodiversity will be caused by expansion of roadways in building of bridges over rivers. Example :- Road widening projects may harm Tadoba Forest Reserves to builder National Highway 3) The biggest issue is 'Post Factory Clearance' 1st April 2020 supreme courts judgement said that "Central Government can not give Post facto Clearance", then after still it's been introduced in the new EIA Draft!!! That means a company or industry violating all rules for 3 to 4 years and then in the fifth year takes the clearance and still its Rightful/legal act, and this will cause harmful effect on the environment. 4) Another one of the greatest issue in the 2020 draft notification is "No Space For Public Complains", this law takes the Power from People's hands from Complaining About the illegal or wrong activities happenings in the Place for New Projects. 5) Another big problem is where environment clearance was required for 20000 sq. metre area which consisted of malls and airports but now that limit is raised from 20000 sq. meter to 150,000 sq. meter, we can understand the Huge impact by this example that now we can build 3 to 4 terminals of an airport and no environment clearance will be required. 6) These EIA norms were very less Effective as the factories agencies never prepared a report but only copy pasted others report, very less agencies walk on ground level to prepare the report and even on any future failure aur any environmental harm there were no rules set to take actions against the agencies, and cannot be accounted for the harm caused. Now some recent Man-made Disaster took place because of not fulfilling and neglecting the EIA Terms & Conditions:- I) The Visakhapatnam gas leakage which led to 11 deaths and 1,000 of people affected, the plant was neglecting lot of laws of the EIA terms and conditions II) The current occurring and most recent Assam gas leakage many of the EIA norms were neglected and were not followed which causes a lot of loss and harm to the biodiversity, affected a thousand of peoples and villages These were just few examples that I just took from recent happening, we can hear many more such news from every corner of the country, they are ruthlessly breaking the laws of EIA Amendment of 2006 & and causing harm to the environment. I request you to not to Liberalize the EIA norms which will result in destruction of environment & also affect human lives. I show alot of concern to these issues, and won't appreciate inclusion of these new laws, and kindly request to maintain the strictness and remove these laws and increase the Effectiveness of the EIA norms.

Development is important but environment is very important..so if a company needs to some amount of trees for its establishment then it must plant that much amt of trees in its near region and that should be strictly followed..and those industries which releases waste in the river beds every industry should have its waste treatment plant and this matter should also be strictly followed..this is my opinion

But I'd like you to take a paradigm shift, I'm writing this just because Study iq is a public figure and lakhs of people view your channel who in turn have chances of becoming civil servants. Well, your lecture mentioned about the environment and development as two different entities and that's where the problem is, you also said की सरकार environment पर ध्यान नही दे रही, development पर ध्यान दे रही है. Should development and environment be two different things? Is environment not development? Well this probably explains the mindset of a civil servant in general (i might be wrong). I'd recommend you to keep both (environment and development) as one entity.

Why should we even see the Nordic countries like Sweden, Denmark who are completely switching to renewable energy sources and doing the best for environment protection and showing the rest of the world how to do that but ya they don't have world class facilities.
The projects which govt classifies as strategic might destruct a lot of biodiversity and the people who'll be most affected will be the tribal people and they don't know anything about their rights so they can't complain also but who cares we need the world class facilities and we don't bother whatever happens to environment.
Oil India limited in tinsukia was an example of the world class factories set up near Dibru Saikhowa National Park and a wetland . It was disastrous for ecology of that area dolphins were effected . Moreover experts from Singapore were not able to control the fire but who cares we need oil and for that factories are needed and these incidents take place and they aren't a big deal .

I have done my job as I sent strong opposition letter to MOEFCC for draft policy to remove citizen complain from the list. Industries must understand that natural resources not only belong to human but to all species. Natural resources are not anybody's private property to exploit.

1. Post Facto clearance
1a. No information for strategic projects in Public review.
2. Bi-yearly compliance reports to Yearly compliance
3. Public Hearing removed from many important industrial and Construction projects.
4. Time of Public Hearing notice reduced to just 20 days
5. Construction projects don't have to get clearance upto project with area less than 1.5 Lakh sqm
6. Most absurd: Reporting cant be done by citizens. It can only be done by Govt approved party, client of Govt itself. In case the project proponent does some disobediences from EC norms they should come out by themselves and pay the fine otherwise if govt. Finds out they will double the fine.
7. The season for monitoring is reduced to just 2 mine months. Earlier it was 3 months.

First Vishakhapatnam styrene gas leak happened in LG polymer company due to lack of maintenance in corona period. Second petro gas leak in Assam happened during maintenance and repair work can be a humane error. In one hand we can not afford delays in important projects due to wested interest of some bureaucrats and NGOs. In other hand we have to protect land, air, water, forest from pollution and inordinant consumptions. We need balance in both. I also want that complaints from common peoples especially near the location should be allowed and penalties in enviornmental norm violation should be at least 25% of the company's annual income as per national average of particular kind of work and environmental damage. Law should be affirm and make a list on which work should consider as strategic. Alloction, permission and application process should be online and fast track as per set guidelines. Norms and promotional loction for manufacturing of API and electronics industries should be consider in prefacto rules.
This is actually the result of our own mistakes..this would not have happened if we had not choosen Mr. MODI( becoz in india there is prime ministrial form of govt. Not the parlimentary form )...

Our Environment is Our Responsibility and being a responsible citizens of this nation I object on the new rules, kindly do not 'By pass the environment' by neglecting it.
The EIA norms are already Less Effective & new norms are more Liberal & By passing the Safety as well.
Objectionable Points -
1) No solution for political and bureaucratic stronghold on the EIA process.
Instead it proposes to increase the government's discretionary power and limiting public engagement in safeguarding environment.
Project except defence also given strategic tag, and later not option any information regarding the project on public domain, which decreases the transparency and may cause false use and harm the environment.
2) Giving many exemptions in the building of instruction infrastructure near the LAC to area of 100 kilometres within the countries territory, that will cover all of the northeastern Indian territory, which will harm the biodiversity of the north east region as there is more stress on the construction of infrastructure suggest roadways.
Cutting of trees harming the biodiversity will be caused by expansion of roadways in building of bridges over rivers.
Example :- Road widening projects may harm Tadoba Forest Reserves to builder National Highway
3) The biggest issue is 'Post Factory Clearance'
1st April 2020 supreme courts judgement said that "Central Government can not give Post facto Clearance", then after still it's been introduced in the new EIA Draft!!!
That means a company or industry violating all rules for 3 to 4 years and then in the fifth year takes the clearance and still its Rightful/legal act, and this will cause harmful effect on the environment.
4) Another one of the greatest issue in the 2020 draft notification is "No Space For Public Complains", this law takes the Power from People's hands from Complaining About the illegal or wrong activities happenings in the Place for New Projects.
5) Another big problem is where environment clearance was required for 20000 sq. metre area which consisted of malls and airports but now that limit is raised from 20000 sq. meter to 150,000 sq. meter, we can understand the Huge impact by this example that now we can build 3 to 4 terminals of an airport and no environment clearance will be required.
6) These EIA norms were very less Effective as the factories agencies never prepared a report but only copy pasted others report, very less agencies walk on ground level to prepare the report and even on any future failure aur any environmental harm there were no rules set to take actions against the agencies, and cannot be accounted for the harm caused.
Now some recent Man-made Disaster took place because of not fulfilling and neglecting the EIA Terms & Conditions:-
I) The Visakhapatnam gas leakage which led to 11 deaths and 1,000 of people affected, the plant was neglecting lot of laws of the EIA terms and conditions
II) The current occurring and most recent Assam gas leakage many of the EIA norms were neglected and were not followed which causes a lot of loss and harm to the biodiversity, affected a thousand of peoples and villages
These were just few examples that I just took from recent happening, we can hear many more such news from every corner of the country, they are ruthlessly breaking the laws of EIA Amendment of 2006 & and causing harm to the environment.
I request you to not to Liberalize the EIA norms which will result in destruction of environment & also affect human lives.
I show alot of concern to these issues, and won't appreciate inclusion of these new laws, and kindly request to maintain the strictness and remove these laws and increase the Effectiveness of the EIA norms.
Better to plant trees guys...ye bhi important hai ke hum eagerly plants lagaye.. make culture to gift plant instead other things...plant new plants like ficus microcarpa otherwise kuch bhi Janta nhi kregi to koi environment protect nhi hone wale...be solution maker instead of critical...or baaki video to sahi h ekdum thanks

Development is important but environment is very important..so if a company needs to some amount of trees for its establishment then it must plant that much amt of trees in its near region and that should be strictly followed..and those industries which releases waste in the river beds every industry should have its waste treatment plant and this matter should also be strictly followed..this is my opinion

Good morning sir, your lectures are conducted in such a way that even a non upsc viewer understands this totally. But I'd like you to take a paradigm shift, I'm writing this just because Study iq is a public figure and lakhs of people view your channel who in turn have chances of becoming civil servants. Well, your lecture mentioned about the environment and development as two different entities and that's where the problem is, you also said की सरकार environment पर ध्यान नही दे रही, development पर ध्यान दे रही है. Should development and environment be two different things? Is environment not development? Well this probably explains the mindset of a civil servant in general (i might be wrong). I'd recommend you to keep both (environment and development) as one entity.
Also send same email to your local member of parliament (MP), MLA, chief minister etc. So that sufficient pressure will be developed on Government.
