  • The Lake District is one of the most spectacular places that you can see in England and the UK. There is one small problem though... you often need a car to get around. Fear not though, as we have put together a guide for the ultimate weekend in the Lake District where we only use public transport!
From getting there by train to navigating the area by bus, we have you covered. Along the way we will also tackle two of the best hikes the Lake District has to offer.
Our first day of hiking in the Lake District took us to Helvellyn. This peak is gorgeous and it has a picturesque walk to accompany. Be warned though as some routes to the summit, such as Striding Edge and Swirrel Edge, are much trickier than others!
On our second day of Lake District hiking we completed the Fairfield Horseshoe loop. This hike had panoramic views continuously and although it took us almost 7 hours, every minute was worth it. I'd recommend that you don't attempt this hike if you aren't moderately fit though.
As well as hiking in the Lake District, we also checked out some cute villages along the way. Whether we were in Windermere gazing out on the lake or in Grasmere trying the famous Gingerbread, every scene was looked like a postcard.
I hope you find this video useful and if you do let me know how you found it in the comments. Enjoy and I'll see you in the next one!

Can you please confirm the guest house you stayed in. We are planning a similar trip and have no vehicle.
