The irony is that I got to know about Brave through a RUclips ad! XD
It's evolution. We invented green energy from oil.
In "Die Hard", John McClane rescued the hostages from the Nakamoto building by using the "terrorists" weapons against them. We use the burning platforms' tech to get the word out, but if you see such an ad and install Brave, we do not track you across that conversion. On those platforms, we avoid retargeting and other bad options while still using their ability to target and segment. Regulation will always be needed, even in a decentralized scenario. The difference being a public concensus should govern, and NOT a profit/politically driven corporation. So essentially were looking to 'change' regulation so its fairer. 👍💜🇬🇧
@@coffeeandvapes1308 The goal is to have both the corporations, the tyranny of public consensus and the easy to lobby governments out. It's an anarchic pursuit. That suits people in places with overbearing, corrupt Corp funded governments and mass brainwashed populations.

Its the reason for its adoption. And its the ONLY fair representation of 'the average persons thought' if you will. I'd leave words like tyranny & anarchic to hippies and squaters. The future we seek is publically governed and fairer for all.

Living a nation ruled by public consensus is tyranny of a majority over a minority. It's anything but fair or rational. Unless you believe more means right.

@@efdavis yes I still use other browsers for work but for personal reasons I mostly use Brave.
@@efdavis when you watch ads using the brave browser, they reward you with BAT tokens. You can also opt out and turn off adds completely.

I started using Brave last year and was surprised to see the BAT I earned is now worth over $150😄

@@arthikvishwakarma5201 both. there is a QR code you can scan now that lets you transfer your phone rewards to the pc and my phone rewards that I transferred in was worth about $70. (again I started using Brave last year when the market was down)

I saw that my browser was auto donating my tokens to creators haha. I now have about $30 after over a year of use.

I have been reciting Jaron Lanier's work religiously since I discovered it and I am glad to see others finally catching on. I admire what Brave is doing and I like the browser itself. I feel the same way about Lanier as I do about Snowden who is coming out in support of Orchid. The free internet model is what has led to such tremendous inequality and the loss of our basic human rights of privacy and autonomy. It's good to see people taking our culture back. I do think there is a place for big tech and governments, but they have to be willing to rectify their transgressions with data harvesting and mass surveillance or they will gradually become obsoleted and replaced. Taking it back and they're either with us or against us. But this time it has to be done with ethics, fairness and sustainability in mind.
It may be a good time to invest in BAT.

I've been using this browser for over a year. Love it! I just wish you had the control to allocate your collected bat to an exchange of your choice. The force you to go to their partner wallet otherwise you can't access your Bat. So now u just use it as a ad blockers.
@Nick Shannon that's a good start but honestly I hope the focus more on creating the new social media. Imagine Facebook where the users get paid to see the adds they want to see...
They can do this model for IG, FB Twitter and messenger like app.. No one in crypto is doing that and they can... It's a huge market huge potential and humanity desperately needs it...

Everybody i have talked to about Brave Browser start using it, its a very simple sell. They still have some work to do with searches in my language (norwegian), as it often mixes up norwegian and danish search results..but still, i prefere it to google any day.
Im using Brave right now. It is like chrome but no noisy ads in most websites (some might not work with adblock) great and they also pay you but only information you enter into the Brave browser.
I just read Subprime Attention Crisis and it hits on this same tone. Fascinating shit

The ad companies are taking too much money? But the publishers have constantly flowing, automated ad dollars flowing into their bank accounts... they literally get their site to allow it and that's it... for TV you have to manually book every dollar of ad spend. Also apps are different because it's not usually a little bit of info content people scroll through, it's a committed download that is difficult to make as well as has to be promoted... the app tore has to have a great incentive for people to make apps, whereas news is going to be made regardless, so them having auto-money rolling in, is a pretty sweet deal

Ads were becoming such a physchological dystopian nightmare
Now if only the BAT system was working. Longer I use it the more issues I seem to discover. Monthly BAT disappearing, overall amount disappearing, sync between mobile is a mystery, not syncing to Uphold. At this point I'd rather have a pay-to-use browser, so long as it's not Brave.
Then there are the issues with the Browser itself... Mainly with mobile, but still.

Never had the Token... until I researched it, tried and I am a super pro google "duck gogo" and BRAVE is waaay faster and blocks everything. One of the few Tokens that makes perfect sense and is useful! Wouldnt be surprised if they get M&A by a lot in the future.
There are two issues with BAT... 1st they have to fix how the ads are driven to the user and second they force users into using Uphold.
Locked in $1K of BAT after watching this and then going down the rabbit hole. I feel it's a good long position. Fingers crossed!

Brave is cool, but it is horrible on a PC. You can’t even customize the menu up too to save screen real estate.

No mention of metadata. Also, as explained in the Bitcoin White paper, Bitcoin's SPV can do all this infinitely faster and more securely. But good luck selling this metadata mining security.

Future of the web!!
The Brave browser ad network so far is a huge failure. They are charging far too much for their ad units, not forcing advertisers to use BAT in order to give it value and are also not passing on all the revenue they claim they are. They are already lying to their users. It's really easy to figure out. Use it for a month and see how much you get paid for an ad then contact them and ask how much to run an ad campaign. You'll notice quite quickly there is a massive disconnect between how much they charge and what is being passed on to the user.
