This version is absolutely amazing. The clarity of Bach's music is highlighted by playing this piece on guitar. Bach - there is no substitute. To me, this is THE best guitar version I've ever heard. 😉

@@guitarlol6374 Wow, it's difficult to compare. Arrangements are different. Lopes put it in Am. This is in Dm, with 6° string tuned in D and... it sounds different. I feel the bass in the begining are more impressive here. I even would guess the whole guitar is tuned a bit lower than regular. Short: Both are great!
It is a crime against humanity to remove this beautiful performance by Victor Ilich from RUclips. What happened to the original upload? I almost had a heart attack when I noticed it was missing from my playlist!
I believe it is accurate to say there have been many transcriptions of Bach's organ music. The performance of Viktor Ilich, however, will remain one of my favorites. And I love the fact he wiped his nose the second he was finished...............................

From my experience; from the moment he picked up guitar to the moment this performance took place... every dedicated player pushes themselves to improve. Everything he did in practice and performance led up to this. Never assume it's talent, it' hard solid work, passion and relentless pursuit all the way through times you think you cannot only to break through and believe you can. Only true dedication can accomplish this and perfection is just out of reach always.
