These guys are not trying to be a retro 1960's garage band....They are in fact a real 1960's garage band !!!! No way it can be modern ,amazing stuff :]
Saw them eight or nine years ago in Frankfurt. They were supporting The Fuzztones. When they played after the main act I saw Rudi Patrudi being stunned and yawdropped listening to them - They literally stole him his only middle -clased show - I kept jumping arround in my army boots like a .... on speed. Will never forget that night.
Steeped heavily in Spanish Flamenco ,but with the Surf genre AKA Chicano rock. "Chicano rock is the distinctive style of rock and roll music performed by Mexican Americans from East L.A. and Southern California that contains themes of their cultural experiences. Although the genre is broad and diverse, encompassing a variety of styles and subjects, the overarching theme of Chicano rock is its R&B influence and incorporation of brass instruments like the saxophone and trumpet, Farfisa or Hammond B3 organ, funky basslines, and its blending of Mexican vocal styling sung in English."
The bass line is hypnotic. Cool song. I'll probably download this! :-D I had never heard of The Urges before. They're like a great hybrid of Them and The Doors. Great footage, too.
Great music for a sickle ride into the setting sun. Like the sounds I grew up with back in the mid-Sixties. In memory of Brian Jones, Sky Saxon and Reg Presley. Thanks to Little Steven (and The Underground Garage).
Love it! The "Pipeline" style guitars, I plan to make a mix using this and theChantays "Pipeline" and then blow it all away by adding Johnny Thunders's version. The vocals also move me to great heights.
There's always something soulful/righteous about some Spanish flare in a lead guitar riff. Justin Hayward's guitar solo in Ride My See-Saw moves just right too.
I can't find official lyrics anywhere. Here is my garbled attempt... : gotta leave tomorrow get along got to find the place where I belong all I've learned is cast aside I've shed my skin put on my pride with a bleeding heart and iron will forwarding moving never still a momentum gathers steam take me where my path should lead I finks along reach out the affair they hold up magic in the air robbing arm when I push your hair from what you say yes i've been saved yes, i've been saved yes, i feel safe yes, i feel saved when we leave we shall return our race is run our bridge is burned we do not love, we only hate want to destroy not to create REPEAT CHORUS 2x

dublins finest instoduction into fuzz sounded psychedelic world with guiness and mdma!!
The beginning of this reminds me a bit of Paint It Black by The Rolling Stones.
Where can I find "The Fire Burning in My Mind"?
I can't find official lyrics anywhere. Here is my garbled attempt... :
gotta leave tomorrow get along
got to find the place where I belong
all I've learned is cast aside
I've shed my skin put on my pride
with a bleeding heart and iron will
forwarding moving never still
a momentum gathers steam
take me where my path should lead
I finks along reach out the affair
they hold up magic in the air
robbing arm when I push your hair
from what you say
yes i've been saved
yes, i've been saved
yes, i feel safe
yes, i feel saved
when we leave we shall return
our race is run
our bridge is burned
we do not love, we only hate
want to destroy not to create
REPEAT CHORUS 2x
RAD RAD RAD RAD RAD!!!!!!!!
Nothing can match this song.
No, they take music from the past and provide new twists to it.
Singer’s style is like a blend of Jim Morrison and early Kurt Cobain
:)
easy, but cool
i guess i'm just getting old. this seems okay, but seems like the same ol' shit. is rock-n-roll constantly regurgitating itself, or is it just me?
¡la que me parió!
The Doors knock-off bands usually sound better than their influences
