Stefan Struve holds a TKO win over former champion Stipe Miocic. The man held 32-8 record before going on a 1-5 losing streak. It's sad to see dudes like this made fun of but it's a brutal sport
One day you're headlining sold out PPVs for the UFC and the next thing you're fighting a nobody on Eagle FC. That's not an insult to Rashad Evans. It's just crazy how time changes things so much.
@@felixnolasco2683 idk, he's pretty bad at utilizing his reach. He actually has a pretty good ground game tho, so i don't think mma was a bad choice for him.
Tai Tuivasa is such a breath of fresh air imo, we had SO much intensity and competition in all divisions this year then we get this bloke who just loves fighting and knocking people out, nothing technical, nothing extraordinary just BAM 😂 then his celebrations ofc
Tai does the same thing every other heavyweight does. Try to Knock people out.. Guys like Gane introduces something new to the HW division. Speed and agility or ko power.
Cevahir Bozkurt right after the Hunt fight they discovered he had heart problems with washed him up mentally. Post heart problems struve was a serious contender in the division he was like one fight away form fighting for a belt
I made a similar comment ... When he first got into this sport, someone should have brought in a top tier boxing coach to teach him how to double up his jab, right cross leads, push kick if they start to swarm, things like that ... And after he mastered that he should have learned nothing but take down defense!! Every technique there is!! ... If he knew how to use his reach, (say like Anderson Silva) then Struve could have been dominant!! He had an iron chin and the will to win! I just don't think he ever had his main weapon utilized!! ... Bad training! ... He still has a pretty good record for MMA, but not because he uses that *HUGE* advantage he has from that reach he never learned to use! ... Shame really!!
Charlie Bates everybody talks about using his range and stuff but im tall and long myself not tall like struve but still tall. And with long arms its way harder for some guys to coordinate punches well and get the punching form good. Its way easier to get sluggish and sloppy and lose balance with such a long frame sometimes it makes it so much harder to punch and that’s something most people don’t no about being tall. Especially in Struve case cause even for dutch standards he is really tall. And what i said being so tall makes you more clumpsy for sure he already had decent distant striking he had a good jab and push kick look at the Miocic and Nogaira fight. But most fighters were just faster and more precies form A to B. And thats the disadvantage of such a long frame
Poor Stefan, he definitely had potential to be something great was just a little too slow and unpolished with the striking. The chin doesn’t help either.
Honestly I'm not surprised, Stephen Struve has been in the UFC for about 10 years now, you can only take so much punishment and I'd imagine his Jaw has probably turned into glass after a long career, just like Chuck Liddell's did, and it sucks in the UFC but the Old get Eaten by the Young.
I'll never understand how strive was so big and was so bad. He had every reason to be a champ in regards to stature and reach. He never got it together
Dude he was not that bad , in fact he has a pretty good carrier i.e, 33-13-0., he even KOed Stipe n Big foot Silva. Of course he failed mostly against opponents with more muscular strength.
I love Tuivasa but Struve dropped himself right there.. just like in his last 3 fights I’ve seen he just gets pushed against the wall and hit until he chooses to give up. No fighting spirit
Tai has a second gear for sure! I was insanely impressed at how he was able to eat Lewis best and it only pissed him off to throw it on him harder and hit the switch! I knew he could bang but man he mentally breaks guys when they nail him and it only seems to make him mad and wake him up and his cardio is super deceiving!

I dont know. 33-13-0 is still a decent record for an athlete who has fought mostly elite. I mean it still beats Jorge's record 😀
