- We leave Coinjock and head up the ICW to Norfolk Virginia. After a one night stop we head across the Bay to Cape Charles, then continue up stream to Crisfield Maryland. A few bridge repairs add a little extra time to our trip but it is nice to be back in our home territory.

SUGGESTION! OK guys, love your channel. Have watched you since you started. Here's a thought. No one has visited more restaurants, bars, and watering holes on the ICW. You already have the footage. Why not, when you're not traveling, put together a video on your favorite Restaurants, Bars, and Marinas along the ICW? You've always featured them but you never said what your top ten are. Do a separate video on each category and perhaps one on your favorite places to visit?
That's a good idea. We'll have to do that this year!
something I like about you two is that you explore the areas around your surroundings and spend money for that community ( cocktails here and a feed there) fuel mooring fees it all adds up well done and gee Lynn is a good deckhand so make sure you buy her a cocktail too.

I love following your videos. Learning a lot for when my wife and I take our journey similar to yours. Great video of Chesapeake and the locks. I have lived here for about 25 years and have seen lots of history being made in this part of the ICW.

Thanks for the video. I also was homeported for a bit in Norfolk while in the USN, in the early 70's parts of town had signs that read "Sailors and dog keep off the grass" good times, good times.

I was in Portsmouth Navy shipyard and we would often take a ferry across to Waterside.
It's a fun area to explore!

Hello guys. I'm new to your channel but I've already watched several of your videos and I enjoy them very much. I'm not to sure how often you come to NC, but me and my wife live in Wilmington just 10 minutes from Wrightsville Beach. I've seen where to been to Southport which isn't to far from us. Next time you guys are up this way stop by Wrightsville Beach and check out Bluewater and Oceanic restaurants. Very good food. Would like to meet you guys and have some drinks. Thanks Ret & April

Enjoyed the video, as always. What is the actual date of the video? I suspect late summer/fall 2021, according to your usual annual trip. Do you find it strange to be going the opposite direction as most snowbirds?
It is from Early August of last year. People tease us about going south when everyone is going north, but we have no problem getting slips!
Since you seem to enjoy the Intracoastal Waterway so much, have you ever considered doing the Great Loop instead of just up and down the east coast?
We will probably do the Loop some day. Right now, our plans are to head into the Caribbean for a few years.
I've been noticing a light brown stain on your bow in all your videos... I would suggest to try to getting that off with a sponge mop soaked with muriatic acid... Don't worry, it will not hurt your gel coat..
We clean it off often. It is a tannic stain from the brown waters on the ICW. The problem with the cleaners that remove it is that they also remove the wax, making it easier for the stain to return.
Ed and Lynn have you ever taken the Deep Creek Ditch in VA/NC to Elizabeth City NC? I did it in the 70’s and I have no clue what kind of shape it is in today. Even if it is navigable. 😁🛫
No we haven't. We are concerned about all the algae in the swamp.

Is there a restrictive area around the navy bases?
We stay far away from the military vessels. Sometimes, when they are leaving port they announce on the radio how far away you need to keep from them. I was once hailed by an aircraft carrier that they were going to cross in front of me and that I should change course.
Do you use your stabs . all the time while underway ?
No, only when the waves are causing us to roll. We usually have them set to center.

Captain Ed, Turbo Tax vs. Taxslayer? Or do you have a different recommendation? I am on a budget. Free is within my budget.
I have never used either but I fix Turbo Tax returns all the time. Be careful, they act like it's free but hit with additional charges for states, schedules, etc. I had someone come in with a "free Turbo Tax return" that they paid $300 for.
@@tryingnottosink9107 Yeah, I know about Turbo Tax "free filing". The FTC is suing them for false advertising. I used them last year when they participated in the IRS' Free filing program, but Turbo Tax/Intuit didn't participate this year. I paid $0 to file my fed and state return using Turbo last year. Taxslayer is participating in the IRS free filing program this year, so I'll probably give them a try. Aloha!
