On 29 June 2024, the potentially hazardous asteroid 2024 MK will have a very close, but safe, encounter with us, coming at about 295000 km from the Earth, about 77% of the average lunar distance, becoming one of the brightest objects of its kind seen in recent history. The Virtual Telescope Project will show it to you live!

Spectacular, as always... Fascinating final stacking... The rapid rotation can be perfectly appreciated in the irregular line... I still wonder how they achieve such high precision in tracking objects with their own motion...
