  • Join us for this fun DIY of a fabric baby swing! We are getting ready for baby Emma to get here and her arrival is approaching quickly! Comment below if you have any question, and always like & subscribe.
For this project, you would need (4) 1 1/4” dowels cut to 16“, 20 feet of 3/8“ rope cut to 10 feet with rope clamps, a steel ring, a spring link, and less than 2 yards of fabric. (The tutorial we were following called for 2 yards of heavy-duty fabric, but we had tons of left over [enough for a pillow and carrying bag +]).

    Good job.
1 critique: I kept having to turn up the volume while you were speaking (especially your husband) and turn it way down for the music. You need to balance the sound better. Microphone should help.
Looked like your kids enjoyed it, that is plenty of great feedback!

Heidi Findeisen We used this tutorial for the cuts and all: www.themakerista.com/2013/07/baby-swing-tutorial-giveaway.html but that part was a little out of our normal DIY so we have a great friend who helped us out. 100 dollars is fair???? i could make that with 20 bucks, and all you have to do is cut 4 pieces of dowel, drill 8 holes, tie 4 knots, and sew 16 straight lines..... not that hard

Your right you could definitely save some cost, but to build it the way we saw them it cost right at about $50 in material. It adds up quickly when you have to buy many little things.
      $1 for steel ring
      $5 for two rope clamps
      $4 steel carabiner
$7 25 feet of 3/8 inch nylon rope
      $8 two oak dowels
      $25 outdoor fabric
If we were going to sell them we would make the pillow and the carrying bag to match so that’s what we meant we understood why someone would charge $100 for them.

You didn't explain your sewing method as you went along.or how you put it together and 100$ is too much because it's really not that much work one you figure out what you doing especially after the first time. I build things all the time with out a plan sure you will make mistakes at first but once you get the hang of it time will not consume you plus guys you know the materials you used is not that expensive. 50 bucks ok but come on catch more flies With honey don't be greedy it looked hard because you were holding your phone to record the both of you
