I’ve played this “joint” at least 30 times since the first time I heard it. Dinner Party as a concept is truly “insane”. Terrace Martin, who I’ve loved since “Beige”, Kamasi since “Street Fighter Mas” and, well, Glasper 👌🏾 who I recently saw in Johannesburg, South Africa. I like how they don’t try and dominate each other but instead let the colab play itself out in such a pleasing manner.

Yes the engineers did great and obviously the musicians are all excellent, but I would say the room also helped. Appears to be recorded in the large room at Capitol. I was there back in the late 70's. The room is amazing.
I found him 3years ago during...a horrible situation I was going through... driving home from it....daily. He reminds me of my jazz pianist uncle who recorded with Quincy Jones there at Capitol in the 50s ...which is vastly over looked due to his early passing. Jazz pure jazz is One of the comforts. Just sayin.
