Wonderful recording! I remember hearing John play this tune at Hartford, Connecticut's Bushnell Park, in the shadow of tall buildings including United Technologies gold skyscraper and The Hartford Insurance Company... and across town from Mark Twain's old house... now a museum, which I trust he got to visit while in town.
John was such a fine writer, a mixture of roots American, nostalgia and the ability to frame it so that it felt contemporary and relevant. What a gift.
This song makes cry everytime. Not for me, because I never bought the American Dream. I choose adventure much to the dismay of my parents. I am sad for my friends and family as they retire and kinda look blankly wondering what happened betwixt and between. Sam and his band do a fine job of this timeless classic

What a moment
Man this song breaks my heart. I don’t even work in tall buildings but I feel bad for those that have to! Cheers
