- The Answer to why you don't have an heirloom but are level 500 in Apex Legends Season 11.
In this video I explain how heirlooms work in Apex Legends season 11 and why you don't have an heirloom yet. Heirlooms are 1 of the most sought after items in apex legends and having an heirloom really makes you stand out. As we are in Season 11 lots more people are reaching level 500 but not knowing why they don't have an heirloom yet. Especially people that have been playing apex legends since season 0, they can't understand why they don't have an heirloom. In this video I explain how the heirloom system works, how long you will have to wait for an heirloom for free and why getting to level 500 doesn't guarantee and heirloom. By the end of this video you should understand how heirloom shards work and when you can expect to get heirloom shards yourself.

Look from the bright side, you got to chose the heirloom. You could get Watson's heirloom over the one you wanted or the opposite before.

Actually for a while you couldn’t choose the specific one you wanted, you would just get a random heirloom. Also my brother used my account at one point and got the wraith heirloom and I don’t know if I’ll ever get another one on that account without buying everything in an event. Idk if I should give up on that dream or not :/

One thing I don’t like about being level 500 is that it’s hard to get stuff for new characters. It’s also near impossible to get heirloom shards from the battle pass packs and without spending money. I think they should reset the levels.
Yeah, does get harder to earn packs on your reach level 500. They do need to increase the level cap. Been rumours about it for a while but still nothing has come yet.

I have played through season 0 and have been given two heirlooms. The first was Wraith's since I got it either in season 0 or 1 in a random pack. Recently, I received heirloom shards in a random pack after not playing through the last 2 seasons. I am level 486. I've spent about $20 in game and $20 on a physical edition. I guess I'm pretty lucky.
Yep that's very lucky. There is a 0.2% chance in every pack and so some people get lucky multiple times. You don't get ruled out just because you've already got lucky. just small odds is all, hence why most people have to wait till the 500 pack guarantee.

Well the thing is if you research further, you realize that you chances increase as you open more packs. For example, if you pen your first pack you have a 1 in 500 chance of getting an heirloom. If you then open another pack, you have a 1 in 499 chance of getting one. So if you have opened 300 packs in total, you would have a 1 in 200 chance of getting heirloom shards. This is why so many people that buy 500 packs get it at pack 475-490. This makes it to where it is more fair to the player, because it makes the goa, more achieve able.
@@Overreactionary Not how it works. It does not improve your odds, it simply just says "Hey, this player got 500 packs, force this lootbox to be heirlooms." It would be a lot better if it worked the way you described, though.

1512 hours. level 493. been playing on and off since launch. tens of thousands of kills, millions of damage. hundreds of packs. not a single heirloom.
im not even sure how many ive opened but id guess somewhere in the mid 300’s, maybe more.

I'm not 100% on the math, but if you max out the battle pass, I think the XP bonus you get still applies. So one reason to keep playing at-least might be to get your free packs at that faster pace, even past lv300. Though perhaps it's only worth it if you queue with friends for the friend xp bonus too.
I got mine at level 14 back in season 0 when wraith was the only heirloom and sold my account for 300 dollars, I regret doing that so much now 3 years later, I had like everything that is rare now

I got my first heirloom at 145 and it’s crazy cause I took a long break from the game. Then I got rewarded with that
I just got my first heirloom at level 451. Played on and off since the start I'm so chuffed 😙
i already realized that I didn't get packs every level so I made sure to get more battle passes and buy packs every now and then so I ended up getting shards in season 5 (1 season after the option to choose what you get was added thankfully)
Just got my heirloom on lvl 22. Feeling pretty lucky.. Spend like €100+ on console when the game first came out but didn't get one.
I'm level 400 I got my friends into the game and they both got their heirlooms within 30 seconds of each other at level 200ish 😑 Lucky bastards
I imagine when they rework & extend the lvl system at the max of that new system you’ll have enough packs to guarantee an heirloom.
If 500 lvl to 1000 lvl is 1 pack every 5 level like 300-500 lvl. It's gonna be 100 packs so from level 1 to 1000 you get 300 packs. If they change it to more than 5 levels per pack it's gonna be harder
i got the wraith heirloom pretty early, like season 0 or 1, but the sad thing is i dont really play her these days, it would be cool if you could trade the heirloom from her for 150 shards to get the heirloom you really want

Thanks for the clear explanations. Still waiting for my first heirloom after 3500+ hours of free play since season 0. Never put any money in the game so I guess I'm still far from it. I get useless legendary banners or poses though!
It's an interesting one. You're probably not far off now but yeah without spending money there actually becomes a point where the amount of time you put into the game doesn't contribute much to you getting an heirloom. That's made slightly better with the increase in level cap though. If you get to max prestige level you're guaranteed an heirloom.

Got a 2 week xbox live multiplayer ban so i started playing on a new gamer tag i got heirloom shards at level 10 , i was equal parts happy and pissed off , I've been level 500 on my main account for a couple weeks and still no heirloom for my main account.

As one who was lvl 500 on Xbox without one and just started on pc lvl 26 it’s pretty sad that my chances have gone back down
I’ve been level 500 since season for and bought every battle pass since season 3 and I’ll spend $40. I sat out season 7 and didn’t buy season 1 & 2 battle pass. According to the Apex Pack Calculator I have opened 424 packs. I’ll come back in season 16 with an update.
I start playing from season four and now season 12 I think I have opened Like 450 or 457th I got an heirloom around that margin of packs that includes packs from the battle pass and quest

I can't agree, I have no heirloom and I hate the fact that this year anniversary there is no free heirloom shards. Just a god damn bloodhound skin that you literally have to buy, nothing free.

I bought an Heirloom when I was around lvl 60. Some people just put money in the game. Dont be to envious if you dont know how much money they spend. Let em enjoy their heirloom.
Will that 500 pack count reset if i got one from a event like getting all the items and then getting a Guarantee heirloom after that?
no event packs and heirlooms obtained through them don't count towards your 500 pack guarantee from normal packs.
I hope to get mine this season but I have calculated the packs and I'm guessing I will have to wait 2 seasons unless I some how get money. I'm about 120 packs from getting the guarantee shards, the grind is real!

A lot of people seem to miss understand this a lot. You need to open 500 packs before it is a garanti, not be level 500. As you said in the video. I was like level idk 600-700, before I had open 500 packs and got my first and only Heirloom.

I got really lucky & got heirloom shards before lvl 200. But i really feel for the people that got to lvl 500 & still not have a heirloom.

some heirloom calc says ive opened 308 packs so far, im on nintendo and have been playing since ssn8 2nd anniversary 💀 thats roughly 62 percent outta 500
wait so are heirlooms set at a exact pack when you create your acc, like when you make your acc does the game just generate a number basically and what ever number your acc gets thats what pack you get your heirloom out of or it jus tevery pack you open you have a .02 chance
No, Every account has the same 0.2% odds per pack. It's just that there is an unlucky guarantee coded in so if any account opens 499 packs without getting an heirloom then it's guaranteed on the 500th pack.

Ok, until now I opened 300 apex packs since I got so much battle passes and so much apex packs and I haven’t gotten my 2nd heirloom. When you pass the 400 packs u have such a high chance of getting one. I got my first heirloom between level 70 and after that I opened many packs. Excited for that next heirloom soon :)!!!
Bruh... I'm lvl 500 on 2 accs and no heirlooms... my friend got one at lvl 13 though...

@@Limuzins u can get a second one by opening 1k packs too much Ik but if u get ur heirloom at like 20 apex packs in and u play the game for a while and ur almost at that 500 pack mark u will get ur second heirloom easily.
I've been playing Apex since the first month. Now I'm not like, crazy into the game, but I've lvl 110'nd a few seasons, I usually keep a .90-1 KDR, I'm level like, 350ish? I'm not that good right? But I've played a lot. Participated in a lot of events. I got wraith heirloom back when that was the only one, and haven't got one ever since. I'd really love to have one for my boy path because he's my favorite, but what are you gonna do. I've still never hit 500 opens apparently.

If I check my stats of my account , then i am level 1653 . That means 3times level 500 . 3weeks a go i had my first heirloom coins out of a pack. Not sure how many packs i had to open but I play since season 2 and since season 3 i had always battle pass totally played till level 100 , had all the event packs also . Ridiculous how hard it is to get a heirloom . Anyway, since couple weeks my Mirage rums around with he's golden heirloom . I think it's one of the most underrated heirlooms in apex . Loads of animations and very nice detailed. 👌 fits perfect on the "full of himself" and funny Mirage 😂
I’ve bought at least 200 packs, maybe even 240 or more. So when I make it to level 500 I should either have an heirloom or be close to having one.
I just started playing apex since season 14 n I just got my first heirloom a few days ago at lvl 96
after opening 199 packs there is a chance of about one third you will get an heirloom, you can calculate this with 1-0.998^199
I’m a season 0 player and didn’t get my first until after level 500
been playing since season 0 has 12 battlepass still nothing. My friend started to play in season 12 the 3rd pack he opened was shards. 🤷♀️
I have played since season 0. Hit level 110 with battle pass in every season since season 7. I just spent 20 bucks on the 25 apex packs for the black Friday sale. I am either less than 10 packs away or my apex is glitched.
You'll be close, although there are people that have been doing the bp since season 1 and still haven't got heirlooms, you might be around 100 or so packs off.
if you get a heirloom before 500 packs off luck does it reset it or can i still get my guarantee at 500
It reset every time you get a heirloom shards. So if you open 100 packs then get an heirloom. The guarantee will reset back to 0. So you would potentially have to open another 500 packs, unless you get lucky again before that. At which point the pack counter will reset again.
This is the reason I probably won't ever get a heirloom and I've been playing since season 2 and maxed out 2 different accounts sadly. Getting 1 Heirloom is enough to buy more than a few games or at least entire dlcs for other games that I already have smh. While now they've started making prestige skins in turn making it more unlikely to get the skin or heirloom for the Legend that you Main. It would be more helpful if they made it so that you only get shards from the packs that way you could choose what you wanted instead of throwing money at it.
I'm lvl 4 and on my 3rd game I got a win and went back to lobby and got an heirloom me and my friend who told me to get the game shat ourselves I didn't know it was that rare

I was beginning to become hopeless at the fact I’d never get an heirloom being level 470 with no heirloom with about 270 packs or more opened definitely in the 300s and I finally got one at level 480 I got it luckily off a whim of chance and what makes it cooler is that I called I was gonna get an heirloom while I was doing the naruto “fire style fire ball jutsu” hand signs and after I finished the hand signs the heirloom came out and I was stoked

Yep, majority will. I know lots of people don't like that there are level 2 players running around with heirlooms just because they got lucky in a pack. Feels bad for players like you that have been playing since the start. Hopefully you'll get yours soon.
tho I have one question I played at season 1 and then quit the game now I came back at season 11 and I had 25 unopened packs maybe u know how did I get them? I never kept packs while playing at season 1, so it cannot be that.
Over the seasons they have given a number of free packs. They probably just accumulated in your account as you weren't playing the game.

Ive been playing since day two, idk as irritating as it must be im kindof okay with not having one yet, i like that not everybody has one, i feel like the more people have them the less special they become, that said i wish money wasnt the only prerequiste what if youre an absolute god at the game with 20 bomb on every legend and youre still waiting for shards is kindof my point, thats just me tho

tbh apex gives a lot as a free game, look at cs:go for example, now its free but used not to be and not even once you could open a case for free in cs:go

One of my homies got an heirloom at level 6, we played his orientation matches the day prior. Then he opened a pack and boom. He still hasn’t unlocked a single legend so he doesn’t know what heirloom to choose. I am lvl 120ish and I still don’t have an heirloom. I might just say I’m a little salty.
Is there any source for the chance of getting an heirloom per pack being 0.2%? The only thing I know is that Respawn described it as being less than 1%
It’s “presumed” to be 0.2% when opening one pack. But, it would make sense if it was a 1% chance. 1 pack x 500 = 500 packs.
i have played 1558 hours apex legends and started at season 0, i am lvl 500 for a long time and still got no heirloon, so tell me what is wrong.. i got all season pass and nothing happens...

Not for Heirloom shards. They just give you a guarantee for that rarity.

Yeah, there is no lower limit to the 0.2% odds, so literally a level 2 player opening their 1st pack can get an heirloom. It happens. Low odds but does happen.

The difference between a new account and a level 500 account is that with the new account you can earn packs through levelling up. It's just chance. Kind of like gambling in a casino.

personally, since hitting level 500 takes tons of hours of playtime, your award should be heirloom shards. I understand why they won't due to the money they won't be getting. I haven't received a random heirloom in about a year...

ok so here is my idea
why not having a 1 in 166,666 chance of getting an heirloom, but instead of getting 3 times 50 heirloom shards in 1 singular pack, you get 1 time 50 shards in a normal pack, with other items like banner poses and skins. the odds are basically the same, it would just give the sensation that you progress more. i dont know if it would change the odds or not but i think it would be pretty cool if we had more often the precious red stuff ...

It's guaranteed on your 500th pack if you haven't had an heirloom in the previous 499 packs opened. There is an occasional glitch where it doesn't give it but if you contact EA support they usually give it to you.

I haven’t gotten my Heirloom yet… even tho I have 3 account over lvl 300 and 1 over 100 BUT I think it’s good the way it is, someone will get Lucky and thats fine so I Hope it stays the way it is… I don’t want to get an Heirloom that looses rareness!
