    This is a bit confusing.. you're saying your doctor didn't explain anything regarding you having preeclampsia nor expressed how dangerous it can be during your office visits? You didn't have a urine test every time you went to the doctor? If you weren't mentally capable of discussing the need for magnesium, why didn't Deni step in to talk about it with the doctor and then explain to you? He's your advocate for when you can't make decisions and can advise you or the doctor of your wishes. From what you're saying, there was a lack of communication from both parties. I wouldn't want that same doctor to care for this pregnancy. I would advise looking elsewhere. That's too much of a miscommunication, in my opinion.

    I feel like watching so much TikToks we get so much information that isn’t 100% right. This doctor was clearly trying to help you out and you needed it but you didn’t get it due to what you listed to. I also let this happen to me when it came to some stuff during my pregnancy but I changed my mind and told them yes. Definitely second baby I won’t let this happen.

    I had symptoms at 20 weeks and kept telling my dr. But my BP was ok and no protein in my urine. Then at 37 weeks my BP was high and they had to induce. I knew something was wrong by hr 2 of pushing and asked for a csection. They told me no. I tried to deliver for 6 hrs then needed an emergency csection. I literally asked if I was dying on the table and a team of ppl rushed in. It was very scary I didn't sleep for like 3 days bc I was afraid I wouldn't wake up. As someone who is interested in being a doc and worked ( and currently working) side by side with docs, the most frustrating thing is when people say “ I don’t want to be filled with meds “ WITHOUT asking questions. I completely respect patient autonomy, but outright declining PROFESSIONAL medical care bc of fear or misinformation online or simply not asking questions seems so absurd. But to be fair, pre eclampsia is scary and traumatic so the team def failed to tell you something crucial. Just for future reference, if you are a high risk pregnant patient you should def know as soon as your start attending your pre natal appts. Please please please read over your discharge notes to be well informed of your visits. There so much information that is given but disregarded.

    I almost died in post partum from preeclampsia. Good news is, statistics show that typically that will only happen in one of your pregnancies and rarely reoccurs. However, I do think that with COVID and new vaccines things are changing.
    Side note - magnesium is administered to as an anti-seizure medication, not high BP. High BP can cause seizures so the treatment is magnesium,

    • @meghanemerson260

I know doctor’s can make mistakes and are not perfect, but when you are not knowledgeable about medicine or medical problems in general, just do what the doctor tells you, for the sake of your baby.

    I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and I never thought I would get it! I’ve always been healthy, fit and have no risk factors, but what many people don’t know is that the paternal genes dominate in the placenta and are a huge contributing factor to GDM, preeclampsia and eclampsia! So mamas that don’t understand why it’s because the placenta is not taking correctly to your body and it’s not our fault we just have to be informed and do what we can to protect our babies and try our best in what we do have control of

    Thank you for sharing your story, it's easy to forget about your own health and advocacy while pregnant. Most people tend to chalk up symptoms to just being pregnant, but it's important to always tell your doctor everything, even if it seems minute. Advocacy and being informed is key, especially when it comes to rude doctors, like the one you mentioned in the beginning. Being a caregiver myself, I have encountered many of these people over the years, and the best solution I have found is to always ask why. I agree that we need to trust our doctors and the medicines that they try to give us, but I also agree that the medical system has shifted into a very cold and systematic institution. As a caregiver I always ask why they want to give my family member a certain medication, or why they are doing certain tests. I want to know WHY they think they need this medication is necessary and not just blindly agree to something they are suggesting. That is also why you shouldn't feel so guilty for not taking the magnesium during the birth of your son, you said it yourself, you were overwhelmed and trying to protect yourself. They as medical professionals should also explain that your blood pressure should not be that high because of x, y, and z , and that it's not normal because etc. Yes doctors and nurses are overwhelmed and overworked, understaffed, BUT at the end of the day they are treating human beings who deserve respect, patience, and kindness.

  • @Erkavla
    @Erkavla 2 месяца назад

    Give yourself grace, it's normal that you don't want that much medication in your body, your doctor and nurses at the time should have explained it as simple as that, that your body was on its way of shutting down. I'm sure if you would have heard that you would have taken it. I get it because i too am very ify with medications during labor and them doing whatever to you. Thank you for making this video because it can happen to anyone

Unfortunately, I experienced a heartbreaking loss when my daughter passed away due to preeclampsia at 22 weeks gestation. Fortunately, I was blessed with a healthy baby after that. My high-risk doctor informed me that I was at a high risk of developing preeclampsia, and their goal was to help me carry the pregnancy as far as possible. Omg I remember feeling like I was a balloon through the last trimester and they never told me I had it til the week before I gave birth. Having high blood pressure was not a good feeling felt like my head and everything was going to burst 🥲 but for my second pregnancy I didn't have that, thank God !!

    Preeclampsia or Gestational Diabetes, is usually caused by the males(el baby daddy) genetically basically entering and growing within our bodies. It is a result of our genetics mixing. I was a healthy adult when I was going through pregnancy and developed preeclampsia at around 28 weeks. My doctor was very informative so I feel your doctor dropped the ball not explaining and going through the diagnosis with you. I was induced at 37 weeks due to the preeclampsia. And I took all the magnesium they suggested because I was informed of the diagnosis. They did let me know if I got pregnant again they would start me on a baby aspirin in hopes to delay preeclampsia development because you’re more than likely going to develop it again in your future pregnancy. It’s bizarre and crazy how much our bodies are affected. Blessings to you all!

    Pre-eclampsia is not lifestyle related. I had it with both my pregnancies with severe features called HELLP syndrome. I dont have the most positive experiences to share. I 100% agree, being careful during pregnancy and getting treated for Pre-eclampsia and following the guidelines of the doctors.

    I had preeclampsia with my pregnancy and had to be induced at 36 weeks. Thank you for informing people of the severity. On a different note…..I get it, you need content and need people to speculate and keep them engaged for as long as possible. However, it is getting annoying. I had originally stopped following you because you were so desperately trying to keep up with the Joneses. We were literally watching you spiral with your mental health that I had to stop watching your content. Somehow you popped up on my feed and watching how different you were when you had your baby and being your authentic self was so amazing to see. Unfortunately, all this teasing with the cooking videos and this new pregnancy (cause girl you just confirmed in the comments) is just giving me the ick again. Hopefully you don’t get too much in your head about this preeclampsia and your pregnancy is as normal and beautiful as possible. Anyways, good luck on your new journey. Wishing you the best in life.

    I also had preeclampsia since early on. Mine was mild though. The only symptoms I had was that I started swelling close to 20 weeks. My face, hands, and feet were swollen more than the normal “pregnancy swelling”. They also ran tests on me to rule out other things. But then they also did a 48 hr urine test, which came back with protein plus the slightly elevated BP, which meant I had preeclampsia. But other than that I didn’t have the more severe/ dangerous symptoms. Thank God 🙏🏻 I also got a antenatal steroid treatment incase baby had to be delivered early. But gracias a Dios he was born at 38 weeks. Also like you said, I was 20 years old perfectly healthy never had high BP pre pregnancy. It’s not about being healthy or not unfortunately , it just happens.

    I delivered my healthy baby boy at 37 weeks and I went in for my twice a week NST and I stayed in labor & delivery at that appointment because they found protein in my urine & my blood pressure was high. I had been taking my aspirin but it still happen I had preeclampsia and I got induced it was a long process I went through it & the magnesium I was on was not allowing the Pitocin todo its job it was tough I got to 5cm & I had done the balloon & my water broke naturally but after all that my Dr decided I was going in for a C-section it was the hardest thing I have gone through physically & mentally & emotionally. I aplaude all mothers because it’s not easy we are super women. We create life & still keep it all going. God is good! My baby boy Luca came into the world so perfect on 5/5/24 @ 9lbs 14 oz 🩵
    My dream baby boy in my arms is a feeling that was so magical. To this day I get so emotional looking at pictures of the day he was born. My hospital duration was 7days from the day I got admitted till the day I left after giving birth. My Dr & nurses were amazing & I am grateful for them all.

    Magnesium is used to help prevent a seizure with preeclampsia. A seizure can be very dangerous even fatal for both you and baby when you are pregnant or postpartum with preeclampsia. So that could be why they were so adamant about giving you “unnecessary” medication. Preeclampsia creeps up on you and gets extremely dangerous fast that’s why it’s crucial for them to treat it fast. But very glad you and baby were protected during it all. Sometimes we gotta trust God is putting the right drs in our path. Labor is one of the most life threatening yet fast paced obstacle filled process we women go through. Moms and doctors are just trying to survive through everything thrown our way at that moment. There’s not reply time to sit down and be fully given a “comfortable” time to consider any medication even if it’s scary. We learn from mistakes so maybe be a little more open minded this time around love. Hopefully this time it’s better. 🫶🏽
