Defibrilator heals bullet wounds. Jumping in and out of jets mid air. Sprinting and jumping forever. Taking a .338 Lapua to the chest and walking away. Realism was not their main concern.

yes:a marksman is anyone who scored high enough on the range to get an acog or better issued to them but on an m16 or m4 type rifle a designated marksman however has additional marksman training and can touch targets that are 300 to 1,000 meters with a DMR (designated marksman rifle) he's like an infantryman that's a sniper, (snipers are more stationary than DMs are) but that's the difference to me hope I helped

I thought that was a very interesting way to play the game. Without confirmation of kills (beyond what you can see and the audio cues) or score it must have kept you on-edge constantly. Especially when the tank rolled past and not knowing whether it was your teams or not. Great game play though :)
the sniper is supposed to give important info on enemy placement and positions and you dont want a beacon next to the mcom if you play against any good team it will be camped for boosting or destroyed
Yeah, we all kinda know that. Playing with no HUD on BF3 is a tad bit more realistic than playing with the HUD, hence the name 'No HUD realism gameplay'

I agree with both of you guys. Recon can be played effectively from a distance by marking enemies and shooting them, it's not just as fast paced as playing with other kits. But as ShaddyzZz said, more effective play style with recon is placing, for examle spawn beacon, close of enemy objectives, in my opinion. But, everyone plays the game how they like and how they have fun playing it, right? I find fun shooting enemies from a distance, but it's just me. =)

I wish in BF4 they could make recon class more useful with the bolt actions. They should limit the amount of recons to about 4 and let them have a one shot kill to upper chest. Also, if you've ever played Medal of honor warfigher, when you use bipod, you automatically spot enemies. They should incorporate that in this game

There is a reason the class is called Recon not Sniper. I play this role with PDWs and close. What doesn't mean that's the only and right way to play. But sniping isn't the only one too. The devs actually said they don't want it to be a pure sniper. But snipers are essential in this game as well as players who play them close with movement detectors. Neither one of you is right in my opinion
you're right but recon is an elite battalion in the marines that's why they chose recon to be marine special operators in MARSOC most of them came from recon
And seeing as this mod just clears up HUD information instead of actually changing the mechanics of how the game works such as making bullet drop actually realistic I don't think this is any closer to being a milsim at all.
So how do you explain the spawn beacon? I cant really see it very effective for your squad with assault rifles (for example) parachuting on top of a crane in the spawn. Recons can be effective, and I have so far (~1000 hours) never seen anyone playing long range-recon effectivly. I have seen a few good up close recons with snipers/pdw's and they place the spawnbeacon tacticly close to the enemy M-COM/flags and help us win. "The role was designed for ranged combat." well that's actually false.
Am I alone thinking, that playing on a server where no one would have HUD and friendly fire turned on would be a lot of fun when every team is on VoIP?

well I've been told by two family members and a friend that's how it is and they might be able to downgrade like say they scored high on the range and got an acog they could downgrade to a eotech ,but I doubt it cause they get issued their sights based on their performance on the range

idk about army soldier, but in the marines it's not optional just issued only people that are allowed to chose are special operators
you just feel much more immersed in the game this way and it looks weigh nicer

Very enjoyable to watch. I'd like to play that way but I don't have the patience. After a couple of minutes my C4 finger gets too itchy.
Its not helm up display but head up display and a part of the hud is the health indivator or the minimap

I heard something that they are switching out what each class is getting in BF4 so the beacon might not be in the Recon for much longer.
This game turns me the fuck on, it has been and will always be the best battlefield in my opinion

idk about army but there are certain marksmanship classes that you need to get certain optics and no I think aimpoint is army/SFs
