This year makes 20 years since I graduated high school and it’s INSANE to think about how yesterday I’m an 18 year old finishing high school and today I’m in the prime of adulthood trying to figure this ish out. Time flies.

College doesn't feel like a scam it IS a scam, the whole educational process from Nusery to Adult Education is about doctrinating you into the System.

Well its not a scam, it feeds many people in the end of the day, but it is doctrinating for sure.

We're in the quickening of days, it's temporary and will not persist this way forever, so don't think your life will just pass you by based on how fast the days are moving right now. Once it's over, the clock will slow, and things like college, 9-5s, retirement, and even the economy as we know it will be things of the past that will be talked about as if it was myth. Everyone's priority right now should be to repent, relax, don't stress about worldly things and instead keep your sights on God, talk to Him, ask Him questions, pay attention to the signs He puts in your path, get to know Him and His ways and He will guide you through all of this. In a few decades time, nothing about the world will be recognizable to modern humanity, so don't even worry about the state of society nor your place in it. In fact, be thankful that you are set apart, the less enmeshed you are with a society like this, the better for you in the long run.

Ironically I got more out of college once I started doing the opposite of the general advice. I stopped putting academics first, and focused more on networking, creative pursuits and building social skills. Once I did get out and get a 9 to 5 job, I saw I was more right than I realized to cherish that time properly. Only problem was seeing peers stuck inside studying and not being able to get through to them that it’s not worth it

You're right chasing dreams is hard like working a 9nto 5 but the thing is eventually I can enjoy to fruit of my labor chasing a dream where as 9 to 5 your working for ever and never get to take a break😂

Why not just prioritize whatever makes us happy to be alive and makes us feel free. My friend I hadn't seen in years was killed at 25 and he wasn't even the target of what happened. Chasing money is never going to be enough, no matter how much we acquire. But we can't get back our time. One day you'll be 40 and no amount of money will buy back time

I don’t believe it’s a scam but u absolutely should NOT go to college until you’ve really figured out what u want to do with the degree you’re going to earn & that often times doesn’t happen to people when they are fresh out of high school which is when the pressure to enroll in college is the highest

Primary school was fun and useful to me but middle school, high school was hell.
I found that most of the education material in schools is useless waste of time (like 90 percent of it)
I prefer to take education into my own hands and learn what i need in my day to day life.
Some people may have use from college but i dont see any future in it.
Not in this backwoods part of the world.

College aint a scam, its a tool that ppl dont use correctly.
Getting a degree in some useless shit because you didnt pay attention to the job market and study in a field with lucrative and consistent opportunities to get employed and start a career is your own fault.
Going to college because you dont know what else to do and think that's what's next and that's what you're supposed to do, but no ambition or goals for being there is your fault.
Going into debt that you cant come back from is your fault. I could keep listing reasons, but understanding WHY you're at college and the implications for your future are up to YOU.
I'm kind of tired of ppl saying college is a scam because they didnt play their cards right or were too ignorant to go about it the right way, so they regret it and tell others its the worst thing ever and a waste of time.
Having more education is NEVER a bad thing or something to regret. Its always a feather to have in your cap at the very least. I just had my first day of college today after 5 years of not having gone because I was in the Army. I will have my second degree after this semester. Its all paid for and I actually get paid to go to school because I'm a veteran and use the GI Bill. I would actually be leaving money on the table by not going to school for this reason alone. The GI Bill paired with FAFSA (Pell Grant), puts over 2k a month in my pocket that i wouldnt have if I wasnt going to college. And thats not even factoring in unemployment or picking up a part time job.
Be smart, and you'll soon realize college is far from a scam. It just seems like it because ppl dont set goals and apply themselves. The amount of ppl that actually got a degree in a relevant field and not "liberal arts" or something dumb like that and cant find work is a number alot lower than you think. You just hear the echochamber of failures, dropouts, ignorant, and lazy ppl that thought simply going to college was just going to drop all of their dreams and desires in their lap and fix pre-existing problems with their lives.

College is a scam and way too expensive for whatever it is you get while you are there. Even K-12 is messed up. Too often people try to change up stuff that is not broken. There was nothing wrong with the educational system from 30 years ago. But everybody feels the need to change the curriculum, buy Chromebooks for all the students, etc. this country dumps so much money into education and sees terrible results. That right there should tell you that money does not equate to quality education. Go back to the basics, pay k through 12 teachers a killer salary and expect them to perform at a high level. Done.

I mean it is. But the people who know how to use it do well. I didn't. It's all about making connections. If I traveled back and told myself to learn how to make "friends" for career connections, I wouldn't have listened. I thought that was dastardly. But it's literally the way if you want a career. It has nothing to do with being qualified or having a brain or skills or any of that.

facts. it is depending on what you want to do. tech, not worth it. you only need a degree for weird specific shit that only people would need a degree for you know. Like nursing.
TEch shit, I taught myself in highschool been working for 15 years off this shit mann go learn something for free teach yourself how to be great at it and clock in every fucking day.
tl;dr - outside of medical jobs and researching specific jobs, degrees are only for chasing the top of the totem pole - if you strive to be at the top of something go for it, if not don't waste your money bro unless you want to lol
