Sorry to be offtopic but does anybody know of a way to get back into an instagram account..? I somehow forgot the login password. I love any help you can offer me!
@Bruno August thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Long videos are never an issue for me as the content is well worth it. I was never in the military due to health problems but I can really understand now why the U.S. Military is so great. You plan for everything and make it all work. This demonstration is well thought out. Great Video!
You want those mag pouches where they are sitting when you have it loosened up in the video, we used that system in basic back in 05, figured it out very quickly especially with the ruck on. Put both canteens in the back at 4 and 8 o’clock right up against your butt pack on either side, I currently only have one canteen with the canteen cup an attached a camelback to the back of it, I keep the lbv in my bugout bag next to but disconnected from my pistol belt so that I can throw on my pistol belt quickly and then later when I get a little time I’ll add the lbv to my pistol belt and I keep the rest of my mags in an outer pocket of my pack for easy access until I get it on then add to mag pouches, think ahead bubba it’s a lot faster to do less now then add to it later as needed
Thanks for making the video. As your correct in looking good at death, it's super important to have your hair, skin and teeth looking as if you just came from the salon...😎...see?😅...oh ya, the back pack thingy...nice. Lots of ammo and stay hydrated!!
Thanks for your review. I'm setting up my LBV-88 for home defense. Using a UM12 for side arm. Question: where can I find info on attaching holster to the Bianchi drop-leg extender? Thanks for any information you can provide. Keep up the great channel !
i know the video is very old but if you have time what is the name of the medical pouch you used, is it an ALICE system IFAK type pouch or is it a molle one used on the system?
If I could give you a tip. I can tell your opinion is not from actual trial and error. As an 82d infantry guy, the best way to wear an Alice LBE is lower on the hips, not high on your waste. And on your left side, the norm is to wear both of your canteens back against your buttpack. Trade your leftside canteen and ammo pouch. Believe me, hundreds of infantry guys have already tested this and beyond with thousands of miles of training and combat.
I don't believe I would be a fan of a system like that. I am not knocking it...just seems that it would be in my way shouldering my rifle and it would suck in a brushy environment. There is a lot to be said for being able to get to gear and supplies but, on a budget I would prefer a shoulder bag to that. Mind you that is just me knowing what I know about my environment. Still great job👍🇺🇸
I gave these another go again recently after getting tired of my crusty old 80s suspenders for my woods gear and honestly not half bad, you get hung up on branches and shit no matter what gear your wearing. These work perfect, I got them loaded with damn near 400rds of .223 mags and stripper clips, and its insanely more comfortable, especially the cooler months and winter, they even the weight beautifully.
The alice system or molle are far superior to this in every way. Alice has more versatility, and molle is better because it breaths easier, and you can adjust it to cover armor, a coat, etc. The same with alice. These LBV's were cumbersome and while comfortable doesn't offer versatility for the application of a guy who needs to patrol anything on their own or in a group. For the cost Molle would be better, because the USMC still uses it and has been around for like 20 to 30 years.
I like my lbv the only thing is there’s too many attachment loops I don’t know if design flaw or Why shouldnt it be more important to accommodate pouches better and the grenade pouches are too low id rather have 2 thirty round pouches or saw pouches in front cause it gives saggy look in the front also the d rings in the back are goofy and are not quite positive to the butt pack designed that way for more gear? And also the loops for compass pouch are good but what exactly are the small strap with the snaps for?
One thing I can't figure out about the vest is the loops on the strap attached to both harness's they are in line with the straps that close with the snaps on them.
@@doitriteak I think the LBV88 was supposed to have it's own special ruck sack like the LBV86 prototype had. And seems like the ALICE pack doesn't want to fit properly without it's shoulder straps interfering with the mag pouches.
Instead of the bug dope, lip balm,& sun screen pouch i think the pistol holster and pistol magazine pouch would be better you can carry all the other stuff in cargo pants pockets or on your helmet 😆
I have one and no matter how I adjust it, it's always pressing on the back of my neck. Extremely uncomfortable and almost unusable. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you.
You will have to use the older ALICE LBE if you want a surplus option. The 3 mag ALICE pouch can store 2 FAL/M14 mags sideways in the pouch. I'm not sure about other combat rifle mags like G3 mags. I know FAL mags will for sure work thar way though because I ran my L1A1 like that.
Always hated those style of mag carriers. The better ones were the ones mounted to the pistol belt. Except the clasps sucked on them because they never closed right when muddy. Mags should always be close to front or chest for quick reloads. Water is good near kidneys but you dont want anything right on your spine. Its not comfortable.
You would be better off using the alice system. Or going with the molle. The reason being that this LBV is just butt... it was a crapoy upgrade to alice. And was definently a down grade to molle. With the molle you can still use alice pouches which is the plus to it, and the belt is padded which helps with long patrols, and you can carry more gear comfortably over this LBV. I prefer ALICE because it suits body armor better than molle or this LBV.
...... you don't know what you're doing, why is it that the first thing that civilians do is try to fit as many pouches on the gear that they can? So they look like a walking surplus store.
I like the LBV-88 for short patrols and the older ALICE LBE for long term use or without the alice pack for just sitting around.
Great rundown
the LBV 88 is very practical and interesting and the video is very good, thanks for the lesson!
You can put your canteens on either side of the buttpack and still reach them.

@Bruno August it did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thanks so much you saved my ass !
@Keegan Grant glad I could help :)
Was thinking of trying this way aswell as the way shown in the video, see what works best for me.
Curious about the older Alice set up though

Same here, still having arm issues.

I have mine set with both my ar and my pistol with 4 mag pouch. And butt pack. Excellent system.
Great video very informative and thanks for sharing!!!
Those fabric snaps were the reason people went to zip ties for Alice pouches. Voila, it also works for the old LBE.

How does the butt pack secure to the rear panel? BTW it can be mounted high.
Beautiful
"Just buy a molle plate carrier bro."
No. Not enough woodland.
I wish there was a multi cam one

top pouches I can only get two army issue metal mags in there... pmags only one will fit
I can fit two pmags in the tops. Just be a bit forceful so the material can stretch slightly

Those smaller snaps on the shoulders, I believe, are for securing backpack straps over there vest
Yes, the assault pack for the load carrying system that was supposed to replace the ALICE pack
I have my GI pistol holster to mount now

Radio antenna guides perhaps

Yeah, I use the snaps to secure the floppy IIFS assault pack.
@@doitriteak I have a USGI M1945 combat pack attached to my LBV88 vest though without the belt attached.
Seems like you’re wearing the web belt well above the waist. I’ve tried this but it still feels very weird.
Your waist is around your belly button, most Americans think their hips are their waist....... it's not

Yeah.... adjust it better
THe shoulder pads are too heavy. Unless you're wearing the pack with it, they need to go. Some lighter H pattern alice suspenders are better.
Where did you get the item that allows your pistol holster to drop down?
Ebay
Are you in AK? I was there for 8 years
Bu chance can you fit 1 m14 or FAL mag in those pouches?
Not from my experience

some people are going for a certain era of load out
That pouch will obstruct your draw
Had no issues with that

Don't like it to many better systems
