Fun facts that happened this race: Nurburgring’s first race in F1 since 2013. Daniel Ricciardo gets his first podium since his win at Monaco 2018. Daniel is also the *10th* driver to have a podium this season. Because of that, he becomes 4th in the standings. Renault’s first podium in Post-Lotus era and first podium since the 2010 Belgian Grand Prix (pre-lotus, pre-lotus renault too) Top 7 drivers in this race are in different teams, those 7 teams also have at least one podium this season. (Mercedes, Scuderia Ferrari, McLaren Renault, Aston Martin Red Bull Racing, Alpha Tauri Honda, Racing Point F1 Team, and Renault in order.) Nico Hülkenberg DOTD. Max Verstappen Fastest Lap Lewis Hamilton equals Michael Schumacher’s win count. Grosjean’s first points this season, because of that, the Williams drivers George Russell and Nicholas Latifi are the only ones left that haven’t scored a point yet. George Russell becomes the last driver in the Championship Standings. Kimi Räikkönen sets record with the most race starts. Because Lando Norris retired in this race, Lewis Hamilton is the only driver who hasn’t got a retirement. (I excluded the 75% rule, if I included it, Daniil Kvyat will also be one of the 2. Lance Stroll becomes the 3rd driver who hasn’t started in a GP he is supposed to be in (Sergio Pérez, Nico Hülkenberg [I classified Withdrawals as DNS.]) Also a fun fact: 4-11th only have a 27 points gap. Lewis Hamilton’s gap to Bottas is 3x over the gap from 4th-11th.

@@Jack_Wood I didn't say the rules are/were neccessary, I am just telling you what the procedures are. and double waved yellow flags don't do the job, that's a lesson learned from the fatal crash of Jules Bianchi.
@@TheColinChapman you still haven't explained how they cleared Russell's car without a safety car? By your logic, every time a car stops on track a safety car needs to be deployed. I cannot find any source stating when a safety car is deemed necessary, just that it is when the stewards decide. We all know that it's usually when a car has stopped in a dangerous position (start and finish straight, exit to high speed corners ect.) or if there is debris on the racing surface. It is not usually deployed when a driver parks Infront of the Marshall post with a break in the barrier, pretty much underneath a recovery vehicle. The situation in Suzuka was under very different circumstances and lead to multiple increases in safety procedures, one of which included the introduction of the VSC. It comes down to the FIA not getting the drama that they expected from the race so tried to insert a little flare of their own.

Fun facts that happened this race:
Nurburgring’s first race in F1 since 2013.
Daniel Ricciardo gets his first podium since his win at Monaco 2018. Daniel is also the *10th* driver to have a podium this season. Because of that, he becomes 4th in the standings.
Renault’s first podium in Post-Lotus era and first podium since the 2010 Belgian Grand Prix (pre-lotus, pre-lotus renault too)
Top 7 drivers in this race are in different teams, those 7 teams also have at least one podium this season. (Mercedes, Scuderia Ferrari, McLaren Renault, Aston Martin Red Bull Racing, Alpha Tauri Honda, Racing Point F1 Team, and Renault in order.)
Nico Hülkenberg DOTD.
Max Verstappen Fastest Lap
Lewis Hamilton equals Michael Schumacher’s win count.
I also classifed as DNS and WD [withdrawal] as a retirement. If i didn’t classified those, Nico Hülkenberg and Sergio Pérez will also be included.)
Lance Stroll becomes the 3rd driver who hasn’t started in a GP he is supposed to be in (Sergio Pérez, Nico Hülkenberg [I classified Withdrawals as DNS.])

Legends say mclaren are still waiting for rain in 5 minutes.
I love coming back and watching these races where Checo and Danny Ric are both fighting near the front.
Lando: Parks next to Marshall post and crane.
FIA: Safety Car.
certainly seemed like an unnecessary safety car. I reckon there was a little nudge to inject some drama
Jack Wood the rules are clear: if the marshalls have to leave their dugout to evacuate a car, the safety car needs to come out. period.
@@TheColinChapman so how did they clear Russell's car beforehand? And pretty much every car that has ever stopped on track? It's what double waved yellows are used for, to indicate that that there are workers on track.
I could understand if it was at turn 1 and 6 cars had aquaplaned into the gravel but Lando literally parked in front of the recovery vehicle. They also introduced the VSC for instances like that so racing wasn't interrupted as much.
Even DC said on the Channel 4 highlights that it seemed unnecessary and seemed like an injection of Formula 1 drama.
