I personally liked Steve Thomas as host since I grew up watching TOH when he was around. He was always so good in telling these backstories about the history of the town they were doing work at. Plus he always seemed passionate when explaining the architecture and progress of the homes they worked on.
Always thought that Steve Thomas was by far the best host of any of the classic home improvement shows. Just something very dynamic and refreshing about Steve - he had the look, the voice, the calming demeanor, and his authentic roots of being a carpenter and painting contractor while he was attending Evergreen College in Olympia, WA. Have surely missed his presence on TOH from 1989 to 2003 when he left for other ventures. These days and for quite a few years now, Steve lives and runs his own reno company, Steve Thomas Builders, out of Port Clyde, Maine!
Years ago, I had visit the house of 7 gables. In fact, it was one of my places in Salem. However, the best part about being in the House of 7 gables was secret stairwell that lead to Phoebe’s room. But, overall, I love history. Thanks for sharing this video. God Bless. P.S. God loves the world that he gave his only begotten son Jesus Christ. Anyone, who believes in him, will not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16) So repent and follow Jesus because he is ONLY way to the Father and, he is the giver of life. Furthermore, he is coming back soon to judge America-the world. Therefore, call upon the Lord while he is near. God Bless everyone 🙏❤️

What happened to him
@@paultodd4543 he resigned as host sometime in 2003
Steve was my favorite Host as well. He has a natural, easy presentation style. Even after all these years, Kevin still seems out of place on the set.
I grew up with Steve Thomas hosting This Old House.
