Can you believe it, I was searching for this song in 2023? It have been 13 years since this performance. And I am not even from Slovenia.

Amazing stuff. I find this combination of different styles fantastic, especially since it is in their language. Incredibly underrated. Slovenia never disappoints in ESC!
I don't understand why almost everyone dislikes this song, I think it's really great! Definitely not the biggest crime of this unfair year, but should have qualified along with Slovakia, Estonia, Finland, Lithuania, Sweden, Poland and Croatia.
It's not a coherent song musically. It's like someone switching between multiple radio stations.

LOVE IT! I can understand it was a bit too "unusual" for Europe. BUT this is so much better for ESC than boring powerballads and dull schlagers A great mix of ethno and rock. Very feelgood. Very original and fresh. Wonderful atmopshere and good fun. Wonderfully honest
One of my favourites from the whole century. Singing in your own language and mixing with folk traditions is always DOUZE POINTS from me :)

People say this song is weird, but it is miles and miles better than those boring and cheap pop ballads. Also the polka influences is a celebration of Slovene culture and we need more of this in Eurovision.
People are stuck in the close minded modern music that society finds "likeable", just watch what everybody listens to now.. reggaeton, trap, and boring ass commercial pop songs that sound all exactly the same.

In the last years it seems that Slovenia tried all to get a high position, but they didn't got it:
They had a melancholic, a dance, a very beautiful, a country, a modern pop and this traditional song! Slovenia tried all... but they are in every year very underrated :-(

It really depends on the country. I honestly really like this song, but my country (The Netherlands) definitely wouldn't like this. They actually didn't. :-)

Sem neprofesionalni DJ. To pesem sem včasih vrtel za šok (kdo bi pa to poslušal), potem pa ugotovil, da publika ob tem žurira. Res so gladki prehodi med različnimi stili. Danes ugotavljam, da je to pravzaprav spregledana mojstrovina. Včasih sem se tej pesmi posmehoval, danes jo cenim. Naredili smo ji krivico.

I think what actually hurt this was the lack of LEDs? This had so much more potential visually speaking, but they didn't really play around with it. Those sudden changes in musical style and sudden merging could have been presented way better.
That can be applied to plenty of other entries.

The song itself isn't bad. It's just the transitions are awkward and it sounds like they forcefully put multiple songs together. The harmony on the chorus is good though

@@alengrm7488 I think it can be great. I like the language too, good for rock. Last year in EMA it was this song by Lumberjack. Great indie / britpop, poprock. Loved it. My NF-favoruite last year. And in ESC, Slovenia was my no. 1 of 2019

La idea era, cuanto menos, arriesgada. No tenían muchas posibilidades, pero a mí me gusta. Ojalá que en las radios y televisiones y en internet y demás medios la música tradicional y el pop-rock estuvieran representadas por igual, como en esta canción

Páll Óskar (Iceland's 1997 entrant) hosted a Eurovision series on Icelandic TV at the time, where a panel judged all the songs before the show. When this song came on, it cut to them hanging out in the hallway having coffee as a protest to how awful they found this, lol.
