Ah, congratulations on your planning process! We considered Paradise Cove, Kahala Resort, Four Seasons Resort, and Angel Garden Estate just to name a few. I think the outdoor aspect where it's not too close to the waters but still has a water view was a big priority of mine. We were deciding between Kualoa Ranch and Kahala Resort as the top 2 choices but ended up going with Kualoa Ranch b/c of the flexibility of being able to work with any vendors we want to, whereas the Kahala Resort had a fixed food menu, photographers, and etc. that is not switchable and bringing external vendors had additional fees (a LOT) so it made sense for us to choose Kualoa Ranch at the end and it was definitely worth it!

Even more ideal if there is option for lodging at the site of ceremony+reception. Id also love to have a dance floor and open bar, but it seems very difficult to get more information about these features based off the website. Any suggestions or advice on how to go about planning? The site requires a planner so you should look into finding a planner or a coordinator! For the ceremony + reception, it was just one booking grouped together for half of the day. The dance floor and open bar are definitely possible with this site!

Personally did not have one and didn’t think it was necessary given the scale of the wedding we had which was very small and simple. To have an emcee, you also have to rent a mic/ audio kit which I thought was unnecessary!

Congratulations to you too! I bought my dress in Dallas and brought it to Hawaii. There definitely were rental options in Hawaii but I decided to purchase and carry.

We had our officiant do our ceremonial certificate, but for the legal one we got it done back at home after the wedding! You can also do it before the wedding in Hawaii.

If it's possible, can you share why you picked the planner on the top of others, why you didnt pick their wedding dress option, what decoration stuff did you need to buy ( i thought those are prepares by the cordinator), and how much did it cost you to have the wedding in total (cordinator, food, decor, photo, etc). I've watched a lot of Hawaii destination wedding videos and poats, and you are the only one who actyally shared the real experience so I left so many questions here... :) Thank you for reading my long comment and congrats again!

I picked the planner b/c she was very well known in the wedding industry in Oahu and personally knew a couple of people who also had booked her and her team from their weddings 2. Although the dress rental was available, I wanted to make sure to pick a dress that fit me perfectly. With the rentals provided, it may not be my size and I can't alter it, so I wanted to find the dress that fit me best! 3. The wedding decor was NOT provided by the planner. The floral decorations (silk flowers) was the only decor that was included in the package from the planner. My dry flower bouquet for photos, reception table decor (minus the napkins, silverware, and tablecloth) were all purchased from Amazon and I brought them over. 4. I think the total cost for the coordinator + food + decor + photo was about $30K. Hope this helps!
