Great video. A fruit tree care video and playlist would be fantastic.

I’ve done several apple tree videos so if you search “simply bloom apple” they should come up. Doing a playlist would be a great idea, I’ll see if I can add them all to one in the next day or so.

Great video! I love apples. I would like to grow a honeycrisp apple tree. 🍎

Thank you! And yes definitely go for it! Just remember that they need cross pollinators so if you get a honey crisp you’ll need a second variety of that same season. Honey crisp are mid-season apples so you’ll have to get another mid-season apple to pollinate it.

60 apple trees Mya you know your apples. Thanks for sharing your favorites I’m starting to replace some very old farm apple trees on our property. Looking forward to finding a Zestar or Goodland.

Hopefully you’ll love them as much as I do! Remember young trees never taste as good so give them a few years for the flavors to really develop. I used to hate the flavor of Goodland and now it’s one of my favorites.

How did you decide what varieties of apple trees and how many trees you wanted to plant? What do you do with the apples that don’t sell? Would you open to allow customers to pick their own? If I was closer I’d be the first customer

My husband planted most of them when he owned the garden center before I met him. He wanted to be able to tell the customers first hand what trees performed best in our area and what each variety tasted like. Over the years some varieties died as they weren’t hardy enough for zone three and we’ve been able to replace those with some of our favorites. We do a u-pick by appointment only for people who want to come out and pick apples in bulk. With all the kiddos I don’t want people showing up randomly unannounced. I want to know who is coming and when. You of course would be at the top of the list 😉 almost all the apples are taken by the end of the season, sometimes we will bring some buckets of apples to work and our coworkers will take them home. And the apples that are bruised or damaged from squirrels and other animals or pests we give those to some friends with pigs and other livestock. Our horses also get a lot as well!
