I have water droplets in the bedrooms below in the corners of external walls. Can I push the insulation into the corners of the loft space whilst having plastic vents between the felt.
you could buy 'loft legs', which are like little stools for boards to sit on, avoiding compressing the insulation. Or DIY something similar, or make a suspended platform.
You never mentioned anything about breather membranes or adding more insulation on top of electrical cables will increase temperature and therefore resistance ( possibly dangerous ) ..nor about fitting down lighter cowls...nor the fact its better to have no insulation under the water tank to prevent freezing...plus no coveralls worn...pretty crap video to be honest
Definitely no air sealing done. Ya can see the dust on the insulation in the clip "insulating the pipe" All that insulation has absolutely no affect if the hot air from below can get into the attic. Hot air leaving a space (house interior) will make room for cold air to come in from anywhere it can. The only difference to the home owners cost is a negative one for the insulation cost. Not in a million years will that pay for itself. Stay away from the foil too. It cant give a perfect seal around trusses so thats useless too. Look into air sealing an attic before ya waste a penny on insulation. Horse before the cart.
@@michaelmax9703 fiberglass batt insulation will perform reasonably well in a confined space where all six sides are covered, like in a well sealed wall cavity. In an attic space batts are not a continuous layer, multiple joints that allow air to easily infiltrate. The batt insulation itself is far too easily penetrated by air from the attic, allowing cold, or hot attic air to easily mix through the batts, reducing R-value and effectiveness. Rockwool suffers similar effects of air infiltration, but not as severe as fiberglass, it is also far too heavy for sheetrock ceilings to install at an effective depth.
Won't the foil cause damp? I read elsewhere that putting foil is overboard and might trap condensation in the attic?
Random question . . . would you ever use or consider PIR insulation for the Attic?
If not, why? Thanks
That Isover looks better than Knauf, which comes apart into strips, and gaps open up. The Isover looks easier to move as well, the Knauf is a pain.
Jayz! I'm itchy just watching this

This is the most Irish guy, who ever Irished. I swear I’ve seen him on Mrs. Brown’s Boys.
😂
He's Father Ted's secret lovechild he had with Mrs Doyle.
You can't lay boards across the joists any more after doing this?

I can see the the insulation been place between the joists, would't it to be dangrous to put the insulation on the top of plaster board ?
that's a good mask for COVID
there no good masks for covid
micro cannot stop nano.
very helpful thank you
Always do it across the joists
You’re doing no good without air sealing first
That bloke will be itching for days later
Good job
With that stuff on the rafters you wont see a leak til its done some damage
Are you really that stupid

Batts, fiberglass, or rock wool are the shittiest insulation products to use in an attic.
Fart man why?

What do you recommend using then?
