I think people are more blown away with having that, food and anything that you might need in a hurry 24/7 and near your house.
The video is sarcastic, but a lot of the points are valid. I went to Europe some months ago and just printing a document on a weekend was a headache

But when I do see them, they are usually not videotaping Tokyo or other big cities. ドーゲンは日本人をよく分かっている人。その上でいろいろ言ってくれる(ユーモアで表現してくれる)ので嬉しい。ありがとう。

I was struck by this the other day too! Ingredient lists on the packages don't even let you know how much added sugar there is in many of these products. An egg sandwich package will just say "bread", but not the amount of sugar in said bread. Those sugars are hidden under "carbohydrates", which include starch too! So you can't really tell.

This joke applies not only to Japan, but also to Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, India, and, as far as I know, many other countries around the world. While foreigners may be happy to pay tribute to their own culture, it pays more than anything else here. I heard a famous story about one youtuber who lives in Japan today, who lived in Korea before emigrating and was criticized quite a bit in Korea at the time.
