- Wanting to eat/drink something is another very useful phrase in Gaelic. It also has a special trick that you need to know to get it just right.
This new video will guide you through this kind of phrase and show you the trick in multiple ways. You'll be able to make complex sentences like this much more easily. You'll sound like a native speaker too!
Enjoy!

I'm so happy you're back
Thank you Jason for all you do and glad you are back I think you a great teacher.
So happy to see you back! Thank you for the video and the time and effort you put into these ❤
What a joy to have you back, Jason. Two videos in a row... keep them coming. I can't say for anyone else, I for one are in dire need of practice and learning. It's so much fun with your videos. You love what you are doing and you get this passion for Gaelic across just fine, it's contagious. Thank you so much for continuing these lessons. I've learnt several languages these past 60+ years and love doing so but some lessons were very dry (like verbal aspects in slavic languages) - yours never are. Gaelic isn't actually easy to learn but you make it easier and you make it so much fun. Your gestures really help memorising words and phrases and your pictures are also a great reminder. I'm so looking forward to more to come. All the best from Bavaria 🙋🏻♀️ Lisa
P.S. ... and you gave me a good idea, I'll end this evening with a nice dram of Single Malt.
Good to get my notifications for Jason again. Love what you do brother. :)
Yes, please "get back in practice here", Jason! So glad to visit your lesson again!
Nice to see you back, such a wonderful teacher :)
Today will be a good day because Jason is back and teaching me Gaelic. 🙌🏻
Great to see you back!
Tapadh leat, a charaid! 🙂
I'm two weeks into studying Gaelic, and these videos are very helpful. Thank you! P.S. I'm pleasantly surprised at how Germanic the syntax is because I am used to that. :)
Gaelic flowing is a good thing.
English is going the other way in the UK. The letter "a" used to have two pronunciations "ay" and "uh" depending on the sentence. Now "ay" is universal no matter how awkward. The word "another" has become ay nother leading to clumsy speech.
Tapadh leat for the great video :)
'S e do bheatha! Tapadh leat airson coimhead! 🙂
Where would you put Please/Thankyou? In the phrase Jason
As German we speak so, too. Ich möchte einen Keks essen. Das Verb zum Schluss. The word eat at the end.😂
Would it also be ok to use this construction? Tha mi ag iarrraidh a dh'òl uisge.
Almost! Put *òl* at the end, like in the video: Tha mi ag iarraidh uisge òl. 🙂
Dè a bha thu ag irraidh ithe? Tha mi ag irraidh Cheesecake ithe an-dràsta fhèin. (What were you wanting to eat? I am wanting to eat Cheesecake just now) A bheil seantans hii ceart?😊
Bha Jason ag iarraidh cèic a dhèanamh. An do rinn e i? Rinn. Rinn e cèic bhlasta. A-nis, tha Jason ag iarraidh na cèice ithe. A bheil i a' còrdadh ris?
Das möchte ich auch lernen.😂
Does the same pattern apply when using like "Bu toil leam" instead of "Tha mi ag iarraidh"? "Bu toil leam briosgaid ithe"?
Yes indeed and just like that! Glè mhath, a charaid! 🙂
Feasgar math, Mr Bond
Feasgar math, a Dhaibhidh! A bheil thu gu math? 🙂
my birds seems to enjoy this language in a wrong way, they just learned how to lie, they will;.
