      Not sure about that. She's surely a talent but the talent is deep. There's McLaughlin and Muhummad, Mu and more.

    Jamaican dont appreciate 2nd place.. Look how spectators just walk away instead of celebrating.. If it was a gold medal won.. They would jump & get crazy in the streets.. Smh..🙊

    @phebeharris Am not a Jamaican and i support USA sprinters with Allyson as my all time best sprinter.Sayna run 49.30 and Allyson run 49.33.this is so obvious because after both runs in the 400m and 200m she was a bit tired that is why she run that time and in my opnion it was good time as well.And i dont know why you brought up Jamaican issue in ur post bcos if i check my earlier post i did not write anything about Jamaican.

    Sanya Richards-Ross with a fantastic 49.30 1st leg, second only to Gwen Torrence's incredible 49.03 which is arguably the fastest 1st leg ever.

    @phebeharris Oh please we have to be honest here,the first runner runs into the 500m mark before he/she hands over the baton to the 2nd leg runner.on the 400m mark sanya run 49.30 but into the 500m before giving the baton to felix was were it went to 49.44 and felix run 49.33.Sanya has not been in form in recent season but is good to see her give the usa a lengthy lead.

    @phebeharris Well the kids need a chance to develop as well ,it is all about the exposure and expereince.Allyson won her first gold medal at the age of 19yrs(2005), so i dont really get your point here.And in this particular race Debbie dunn was hurt n Demus was very exhausted after the hurdles ,even Dee Trotter has not really run on the circuit this year so there was no will be granted a place in the squad.

  • @phebeharris
    @phebeharris 13 лет назад

    @Mr.Flexybee The kids do need a chance to develop but please don't let the Olmpics be their practice post. Debbie Dunn isn't hurt. Her time is just too slow this season. Demus is slower than the four chosen and she wasn't initially part of the lineup. She was just one of those sidekicks.

  • @phebeharris
    @phebeharris 13 лет назад

    @MrFlexybee I've been a fan of Athletics for 26 years and times are manipulated. Do you really believe Dix ran in the 19.50s and Yohan in the 1920s? Sanya didn't run 49.30 and Allyson didn't run 49.33. No one in the 4x400 ran more than 51.00. Their times were in the 51.00s and 52.00s. Allyson being a bit tired would have caused her to run slower than 49.58 not faster. 49.33 is a faster time than she ran in the 400m.

    • @sportsandlifestyles
      @sportsandlifestyles 4 года назад

      There are a lot of times when 400m splits are faster than the main 400m

    • @truth8508
      @truth8508 2 года назад

      They ran a 3:18. That's an average of 49.5 and what on earth are you talking about. If what you're saying is true then someone ran a 48 or 47? Absurd.

  • @phebeharris
    @phebeharris 13 лет назад

    Mr.Flexybee I don't know what you are talking about. The times were manipulated like they do at many important events. Sanya richards didn't run no freaking 49.30 and Felix didn't run 49.44. They all ran in the 51.00s. You must be Jamaican because you are making up some unfounded silliness to justify Jamaica's lost. Now they ran an extra 100m without being disqualified. The times are ALWAYS manipulated in sprinting during certain and important events.

    Don't be fooled by the times. Times are usually manipulated. Sanya didn't run faster than Felix. If she wasn't so slow, Americans would have gone quicker. If Felix didn't have ran so much, the U.S. would have gone quicker.

    There are eight countries in this race, why is Jamaica being compared to America?
    We are the smallest country here, give us a break.
    You all sound like bullies, show class and respect. We are small in dimension but God bless us with track talent.
    America your debate sounds like persons who have never had a formal education.
    Jamaican's athletes are gifted and we thank God for the gift, as this allow us to go to college and universities as we are all not fortunate to pay college and university tuition.
    Stop hating us.

    This was a weak run by the U.S. Just like the men's 4x400m. I hope they have something better for the Olympics and not this college crap. America always admired older adults and professionals at the Olympics. I noticed in the past recent years, they've been throwing a bunch of youth and college kids at the big events. Stick with the tradition and only use older adults. No kids at the olympic please.

      I am a bit late on your comment but I just wanted to let you know that it's clear that you don't know how the US operates in track field and global competition. The US doesnt just arbitrarily choose who competes at these bigger global meets. There is a trials that everyone fairly gets to compete at if you hit the standards and the top 3 finishers go on to compete and then 4th and 5th place finishers earn spots for the relay. And this relay wasn't bad you have Sanya and Allyson who are the two fastest quarter milers in the country and were ranked number 2 and 3 in the world that year in the 400. In terms of the "kids" Then Francena who, although she was still a fresh college grad, placed third at USA's to qualify in the individual so she was automatically guaranteed a spot on the relay and she had the 7th fastest time in the world at the time and the 3rd fastest in the nation so if you want to win it would make sense to want the fastest runners. The only questionable person on the relay was Jessica Beard but she was third at USAs and also qualified in the individual 400 so was guaranteed a spot on the relay AND she ran 49.1 on the relay earlier that year already. This was far from a weak relay, not only did they win the race but they ran the fastest time in the world that year, was 2 hundredths of a second off of the Championship, 3 hundredths of a second off the world record and it was the 4th fastest time of all time....smh
