You only checked the internal diode for the Mosfet. You need power supply 12v, small bulb 12v and resistor 22ohm. To check mosfet put bulb in series with drain and connect other side of bulb to positive. solder 22ohm resistor with gate. connect source with negative. Touch positive with gate resistor and Mosfet should turn on. Touch gate with negative mosfet turns off. I hope this helps
Cool, so many ways to memorize transistors. Thankfully, the Schottky diode which looks like a power transistor/rectifier transistor (who designed it? It should look different) is easy to test. :-) And this is not including testing with the needed tool also, analog multimeter, just in case there's no battery for voltage & amperage.
Can someone help me ! I have a Ranger RCI 99N2 that requires a 14 volt power supply and the question is that my power supply is set at 14.30 volts !! Will it damage the mosfets going over .30 volts ?? thanks

You checked only the middle and right pin and you determine that is a MOSFET? You had no reading in any ways the first part. Why did you checked the MOSFET IN TWO PARTS? And how come the transistor base is not the middle pin?

They are both transistors, just 2sa1941 is a bipolar transistor and the 9n90 is a Metal Oxide Semiconducting Field Efect Transistor, or MOSFET.

The MOSFET test was a failure. Should get no conduction either way between source and drain. Turn gate on then get conduction.
