After visiting the Malpe Sea walkway in Udupi, we are going to Delta beach. It is 5 pm, we started from Malpe, about 20 to 30 mins drive from Maple beach. Located 13 km from Malpe beach, 18 km from Udupi, 71 km from Mangalore, and 411 km from Bangalore.
We need to drive through a narrow road guarded by the sea on one side and backwaters on the other side. Delta Beach is situated around 9 kilometers along the Kodi Bengare Hoode Road from Udupi. City buses from Udupi make frequent trips to Kodi Bengre, Kemmanu, and Hoode. Delta Beach is just about 10 kilometers from Malpe Beach. There are many chilled toddy shops in Bengre. It is also known for the fresh seafood.
You can also enjoy the beauty of coconut trees on both sides of the road throughout the drive. Time is around 5:30 we reached the delta point, you can drive up to the delta point and park your car, there is no designated parking area.
Need to climb few rocks and go to the beach, amazing views, very few people around. We reached during sunset time; the view was lovely. Delta Beach, also known as Kodi Bengre Beach. It is located in the small village of Kodi Bengre in Udupi. The beach is located at a bay where the river Swarna and Seetha meets the Arabian Sea.
The local people are very friendly and helpful. Appreciate the hospitality of the people in and around Udupi and Mangalore, we really experienced it.
We are continuing our journey to the next destination, Kemmannu Hanging Bridge. Time is 6 pass 10. We reached Kemmannu Hanging bridge.
Kemmannu Hanging Bridge is constructed to connect the two shores on the Swarna river. this has become a tourist spot over the past decade. This 280 feet long bridge hanging in the middle of the river offers a beautiful view of the river and the wilderness surrounding it. It was built in the year 1991. Kemmannu Hanging Bridge was once made of wood. However, the locals renovated the bridge eventually and changed the wooden planks to cement planks.
