Drove these in real life for the past 11 years until they got retired from our company in march. Overall a well put together a package. Sounds are brilliant physics need to be worked on though. A 317 has most of its “meat” between 30-55 mph where it tails off. This one appears to have quite a flat acceleration curve. They should also add ALOT more wind noise. The seals on the 317 nose end doors were absolutely terrible 😂
I love these first look videos, seeing your reactions as well as the train itself is absolutely priceless. This one is definitely on my to buy list. Great video Alan.

Had a cab ride in one from Radlett to Moorgate and back when I was about 14.
The driver to Moorgate was a friend of my mum and I had to pretend to the driver taking me back that he was my uncle.
I think we've been waiting 500 years for this one train lol

Be good when the second series units come along I reckon it will be quite challenging for AP to implement the sounds as these sound different to the earlier 317s with the traction motors making an unusual sound when moving off and the electrical hum is much louder to a point where it becomes deafening inside the carriage compared to the earlier ones

As someone who frequently used 317’s I have to say those sounds and styling are spot on I’d say you might be right with the windows though but 317 seats are pretty low

Looks quite good, but what's up with the throttle animation (or lack thereof)? It just snaps into position when you notch up or down.
That’s due to me using the ATS power break controller not the model it’s my bad

Something strange happened as the 91 passed you@17:51 The view through the window of the yellow door is distorted compared to that out of the main cab window. Hard to describe, bit the angles of the passing 91 don't line up its as if the center door window magnifies the detail more.... Other than that, looks to be a fantastic detailed model, and with the smile you had all the way through the video seems you were very pleased with it.
Don't get me wrong, Volume 1 is great, but Volume 2 is where it's at for me. Alas, not releasing for probably another year. I need the WAGN Prism and Stansted Express Blue & Orange!

To be honest and most people wouldn't agree but those sounds of the 317 sound familiar like they've been copied from a Class 319 EP to the Class 317 EP, but it still fantastic that we have a Class 317 but the sounds need to be worked on more.
Class 317s and 319s have the EXACT same traction motors so they will sound the same.
@@coldo121 Not really, they maybe the same traction motors, but the class 319 runs AC and DC which also makes them not completely the same, the class 317 runs only on AC so it has no difference to the Class 319 because the 319 has more than what the 317's have in irl. Plus just saying maybe you should compare the Class 317 irl to the 319 and you will Hear 👂 😉 the difference because, I know what's right and wrong with the sounds tbf. Because most people have there own opinion on things they notice so stop getting frustrated over what people think.
@@BusTrainsGuy18 In what way was I getting frustrated? I only pointed out that the Class 317s and 319s have the exact same traction motors, which they do. Google it.
Now all we need now is a West Anglia Great Northern Route from Liverpool Street. These will be great on it. Have they got the other class 317 version too?
There's a WIP route on workshop, and the other variants will be coming in part 2 like with the 319 pack.
Hope they bring out the 318s :)

Tbh 317s have the same traction as 319s...BUT they do sound a bit different and smoother than 319s, and they are also alot faster at accelerating than 319s. Just thought people would like to know
gearing ratios are different far as I know
@@zodiotekgaming but their both 100mph no?, and they also sound the same at certain points in their acceleration cycle. At least that's what I've noticed (or think) But if they are , then that would make sense why one seems faster.

Great video for some reason everytime I load a scenario with the 317 in it the game always dumps so I now can't play any scenarios I'm not really sure what to do

Well I think I have got the message that you like this release very much.!
But sadly it will be the last of your videos that I will ever watch ! I would say I have watched nearly EVERY one of your videos since they started. I have enjoyed nearly all of them...but the increasing interruptions for adverts have now spoiled my viewing completely. When watching just a mere 25 minutes of this, there were no less than FIVE interruptions for ads. I find this totally unacceptable and for me (maybe others too ?), I have had enough....no more Alan Thomson videos for me.
It appears through watching videos produced by "TrainSimTV" for example, that the publisher DOESNT have to have any, or as many adverts included in their video. So I am not sure why TrainSimTV videos dont include many, if any, adverts compared with yours which include a lot ? Whatever the reason, I can see many of your regular viewers now getting fed up of the amount of adverts which are definetly increasing in your videos mate.

Hi derek I can only apologise for they amount of adds I can’t choose how many there are anymore that’s down to RUclips but if you feel that strongly that you can not longer support me that’s sadly a fact I will have to live with my suggestion for you is a adblocker that way you won’t see any ads
Ads pay my bills ads put dinner in my table all creators are sick fed up of RUclips and there strange midd roll add policy’s but until we get it changed there’s nothing I can do sadly

AP products are generally regarded as the best available for TS..... so why does it surprise you that he generally finds them extremely good? He does point out negatives too, such as the very high window frames. Jog off back to your pretty game; MSFS... lol.
