I feel proud to have enjoyed many generations of video games, especially the 9th generation and beyond and old classics. This is a classic game that has been immortalized in the age of time as a 8 bit classic NES. Amazing as it is, while they never had the technology as advanced as we did, the 8-bit style games are a artistic and special style of game in their own right. Kid Icarus like many NES games are some which I wasn't able to finish or beat which is a shame as a lot of games back in the day were really hard or challenging more then today's games.
If I remember correctly, the current score (not the total score) drops whenever you fire a shot or break mystery pots in one of the rooms in the overworld levels. Either way, the player has to make those shots count.

I like how spawning at the other end of the screen was built into gameplay. It doesn't just happen, but adds to the strategy of the game.

This is the first NES game I played. It took me weeks to get through the underworld, decidedly less so for the overworld and underworld.
