Alan Wake 2 is a crappy game, it would not kill 1060 as not many people are playing it or actually care about it. 1060s day will come, but not because of this game.
I playing the game now with gtx 1060 worst fps I have is 25 fps but this game you can play with this fps I don't know why but 25 fps in this game feels like 35 fps in other games and you can put fsr3 mod too I tried it it boost the fps to 55 fps I am playing the game now without fsr3 mod very good experience way way better than before
Huge improvement and not that bad I think. If this performance had been available at the release, I wouldn't have upgraded my 1060, but would have played the game with it. It is mostly a walking simulator, and in many other areas a 30ish framerate should be realistic, since the forest shown in the video is the most demanding area.

Gotta love Nintendo DS resolutions lol. Or worse? Probably even worse. Super curious to see if the update helped alleviate the stutter I was getting later in the game on my 6700xt (once it gets to be darker outside more consistently with Saga). Super weird that I didn't have any issues until about then. I know it was mostly to boost the GTX 10-series cards, but I saw RTX 40-series also got a raster boost.
Fsr looking so good here because its a dark place so all issues of fsr 2 not visible. But when you move to daytime fsr has lots of shimering issues and also when you use flashlight indoors fsr shimmers alot.
I think gaming graphic already reached it maximum potential in 2013-2016 era already. Manufacturer just keep cripple older gpu in order to make more profit

@@Burago2kwell 6600 has mesh shaders so it will be almost the same as before And use 24.2.1 drivers or 23.11.1, 23.12.1 performs worse with aw2 and 24.1.1 stutters as well but 24.2.1 has some audio stutter issue with hw acceleration mostly when you wake up pc from sleep
I would now be interested to see how the RX 580 performs since it was the competitor to the GTX 1060. Or did the rx 580 not get the optimization patch?
Looks like even if you could get the game to render at the Legendary 72p resolution it would still drop.😅 Although it did put up a strong fight relatively speaking.

Because of 1 game? Hardly. The 1050ti and the 1060 are still featured as minimum specs gpus in lots of demanding games. The 1050 baaaaarely cuts it in some games though.
They are still featured in many games as system requirements and FSR helps them a lot,1080 Ti can still kick even in this game with its compromises so they are not obsolete at all.Surely they aged,as it should be,and you can't pretend high quality+high framerate from newer intensive games unlike the new cards of course but they still have use in many games for a decent experience.

2024 is a good year to start seeing games needing RTX 20 or RX6000 as entry level... I need a reason to update and retire GTX 10 and older than RDNA1 AMD please... Skyrim is an old game,this one uses new technologies and modern advanced graphics. It's like asking how Skyrim runs better than Cyberpunk on low settings. (better graphics WHERE btw?)

Alan Wake 2 is simply unoptimized crap, and is generally a boring game, so it would not matter much for 1060. Of course 1060, RX 580 etc are slowly getting obsolete, but they will soldier on few more years while PS5 era lasts. Mostly 1080p low-med with FSR, but that is life.

Yeah dropping resolution doesnt really work. You can crank up the settings and just use fsr and play it at 20-30 fps. Its not the best but yeah
