    Good content man....personally I started in the 90s w what was known as dry carpet cleaning (crbs)for a long time was all i knew...then got experience in TM hwe....so I've worked w both methods...n both have their place depending on circumstances. But yea had I spent thousands n thousands of $$ on a TM (which I didn't or wouldn't) I guess I would be mad at all the vlmers haha..in any case...I do believe vlm is very effective and when done properly can be a stand alone service....I have serviced accounts for 15-20 years doing vlm as a stand alone and has been very effective 💯💯💯

    You are certainly right about steam cleaning, causing carpet wicking. Was at a school job many yrs ago. Steam cleaned a carpet, was in a day care room .Next day came back,all the dirt stains came back to top of carpet. Tried all day over over again with portable .Was young didnt know anything about VLM cleaning. Did some research asked a few old timers. Came back with sprayer, rotary machine, carpet brush and bonnets. Was totally sold on Vlm cleaning after that. Now i know from these videos about peroxide and ammonia mixtures with prespray and spotting. Really helps me alot thank you.

      Wish I knew about this stuff yrs ago. Would of saved me alot of money on chemicals. Whole industry is a rip off. From store chemicals to expensive portables and truck mounts. Keep cost down, can be flexible about prices being charged to customers. Plus time being saved on jobs. All the little time saved, adds up end of day. So can fit more jobs in. What your sharing is a wealth of info, for new people starting their own company's up. Or somebody just cleaning their own carpets saving money. See this same mindset in whole floor care industry,in grout cleaning and strip and wax jobs. Pricey machines expensive chemicals. I've seen sales reps of these company's, give major kick backs, for sales to businesses and facility directors what they spend a yr on budgets. Just to keep buying their products. Some guy in office of a major company, has no clue about what to order. Then being told by sales reps what to buy. Then normal average Joe on job has to use it. When he knows there is a better smarter way.

      TheCleanist It is mixed rather strong. It is not the ordinary mix. It can be done on vacant homes. Ammonia is too strong for most people to work with. I have a tolerance for it.

    Thanks for this video, been thinking of getting into the business. Do you use the ammonia and 20 volume peroxide as a pre spray ?

    • @CarpetMuscleTV
      @CarpetMuscleTV  3 года назад +1

      Generally I use a plant based detergent and peroxide together as a prespray. I can boost it several different ways if needed. Most spotting is done with peroxide or ammonia straight.

      @@CarpetMuscleTV good to know. I have my first job this week. The job has a lot of pet stains, I was thinking of using carpet details as a pre spray and 20 volume as a spot cleaner.

      @@hookedonponics74 Add peroxide to the prespray too. When you arrive go to all of the pet stains and treat them first with peroxide before you prespray. This will give the peroxide extra time to bleach out the urine in the bad areas
