My Amazon list is getting very long lol, thank you for the recommendations I did buy your book I can't wait to hop into it. I'm glad you made this video because I was actually wanting to ask you this question.
I guess im asking randomly but does someone know a tool to log back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid forgot my password. I love any assistance you can give me
@Marley Jagger Thanks for your reply. I found the site through google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I LOVE hearing about newer Wiccan/Witchcraft books. As someone who’s coming back to her Craft, I’ve been pulling out and rereading my old books but, as you said, they are wonderful and a couple of decades old. Reading online has been valuable but there’s such an aesthetic joy from holding and reading a book (plus reading for a long time on a screen hurts my eyes 😅) thank you for sharing!
If you are looking for a great book that lays it all out in a very clear and powerful way, try “Unlocking the Secrets of Sorcery” on Amazon. It focuses on results-based magick. This path combines timeless occult philosophy with science and psychology to create non-cosplay magick. Enjoy!
This is the perfect answer to the current question about books on witchcraft written by authors who have a face and are active in the community! Great choices!

:D I've been reading Psychic Witch this past week. I'm really trying to take my time with it and work through most of the exercises, so I haven't finished it yet, but I'm noticing that it's really like an updated take on Christopher Penczak's Inner Temple of Witchcraft. So many of the really good exercises from Inner Temple have been repeated verbatim on the internet so many times that they've become a sort of common knowledge, so it's really nice to see some new perspectives on building these fundamental skills. That added to the fact that it goes deeper into certain topics is making Psychic Witch my new favorite.
Sure! And Mat is a member of the Temple of Witchcraft, so it makes sense that Christopher’s teachings would be audible in his voice. But he’s definitely got his own spin. 💙

Thanks for introducing me to some of the more recent voices in the movement. As soon as you mentioned “What is Remembered Lives”, I resonated … been doing a lot of research into other realms, or what we feel/experience as the Unseen, and I think that one will fit nicely with the fantastic book by Patrick Harpur “Daimonic Reality.”
I have added these books on to my Book Depository list and I want to thank you for recommending these books. I do have other book that list before I get these. I just bought your book off the list as it has been on a while. Thank you for another beautiful video,
You pointed out how people always talk about "working with" this or that spirit or deity but they never explain what that means, how to do it, or why. Thank you! And thank you for the book suggestion for that. 👍

Thanks Thorn As a life long reader books are important... Btw I got a Llewellyns Witches Calendar for the New Year(hadn't had one in a long time) and was delighted to discover that you were a contributor ( February) and Jason Mankey is December's guest. Thanks I'm starting to feel home again so to speak Blessed Be☺💝🎆🌃
Thorn! let me just say thank the gods (ha) for you. As a solitary that looks to the witch community online to connect and garner information I appreciate your spot on insights delivered in your no nonsense style. I tend to be on the nerdy bookish side so it's so good to have someone to look to recommend the meatier, more substantial works as it saves me the trouble (and expense) of sifting through the cookie cutter stuff that 's out there with the same old info being regurgitated endlessly . thank you. and btw loved Traditional Wicca., can't wait for your next.

Love this. I've added a few of them to my Amazon cart. And I personally love Raven Grimassi's writing. I was fortunate to meet him at a Pagan Pride Gathering around the time his book The Cauldron of Mysteries was published.
Now these are the type of books I've needed my whole life! I have really wanted to enhance my witch practice, because for the last few years I've only picked and chosen ideas from various websites. While the internet is a great tool, it's nice to have everything you want to know in a little book. Thanks, Thorn!

Thanks for this! I read your book last year but poor Mr. Mankey's has been sitting in my "To Read" pile for...almost as long! Maybe once I chew through 2 or 3 I can start to add some of these to my list.
Grimassi is to Truth as Hutton is to facts. "Neos" will focus on one, and academics on the other. Witches like you remind us why we need to be reading both. I appreciated this inclusion. And it's good to remind witches why they should read a new book on Wicca. The separation is still often unclear for people, especially solitaires, and your writing (and vlogs) is a service to the community. Never underestimate your value.

Thank you Thorn, just the video I needed and the only book I already have is your one so will definitely be checking out the others. Would love to see more videos like this if and when you have the time or inclination as there are so many books being written at the moment! And I value your opinion!
Just finished reading your book (in the italian edition) and I found it really interesting, as it gave me a new perspective about Wicca, since I have always read mainly about solitary practice and I was eager to expand my knowledge into other directions. So glad that I can also follow you on YT, thanks for these suggestions, "Psychic Witch" was already popping on my Amazon suggested section, so I will surely check it out!
Thanks for the recommendations! All of these are in my amazon wish list currently and now I have extra motivation to add them to my cart 😅 *also, love the Brakebills shirt! I just went through a Netflix binge of The Magicians and I'm getting ready to start the second book 👏

Looks like I've got some books to buy next month, since I already spent my self-allocated book allowance for this month. Mat Auryn's book in particular was already on my list, but now I'm making it a priority. Funny enough the only book I already own is yours Thorn, I got it on a recommendation from one of my friends in Blue Star before my dedication and have since made sure my teenaged daughter read it as well
I just finnished Feasting from the Black Cauldron by Amaranthus it was nice change from the repetitive wheel of the year etc.. formats .Thorns book is a must read too the Grimassi book should be here Monday too.
I wanted to say thank you for recommending the books. With all the books out there, its difficult to know what to purchase, especially if your book budget is limited. It helps to have someone with some kind of knowing (aka, a pagan author) about what they think the good books out there are, instead of relying on the word of an Amazon reviewer (which could be reliable, or utter crap, depending on your point of view). After watching your video, I purchased 'Transformative Witchcraft by Jason Mankey', primarily due to the history element---things I hear through the grapevine in dribs and drabs and never explained--probably because most people don't know these things--get more fully fleshed out and down to earth. (Though I did find "Triumph of the Moon" to be a difficult slog). This is the first book by Mankey I've ever read, and I find his style of presentation attractive.
Thanks Thorn. I definitely need to read these books. I’d be interested to hear your perspective on Devin Hunters recent books - I picked up the witch’s book of spirits recently but I’ve not read it yet. Love hearing your thoughts on all of this. Thank u 🙏🏻 Xx
Devin Hunter is awesome! I’ve only read the first book in his trilogy (Witch’s Book of Power), but it was great. He’s also just an all-around good person, having hung out with him at festivals. I just got his Modern Witch Spellbook in the mail and will be reading it soon.

Another great book is Dianne Sylvan’s, The Circle Within: Creating a Wiccan Spiritual Tradition. If you’re in to that of course, but I found it beautiful x
I got The Crooked Path by Kelden and I must say reading this, it's really well written and concise, tells me exactly what I need to know. I know it's going to be the book I got on a whim I never knew I really needed
Don't know if I might be psychic because I make the right moves when it matters but not from a vision just a gut feeling. Maybe some entity is guiding me. I started reading the book psychic witch but the exercises are slowing my progress.
Dear Thorn i really enjoy your videos please keep doing them Thorn is it possible to tell me what you wrote about A Crowley as i lot the connection with the video and i cant recall which one it is have a nice day from Belfast Northern Ireland

Gonna say this anybody who has psychic witch in their recommendations list knows what they are talking about. Any book that focuses on mental training should be the first book any witch or magician should get. Your mind is the most important tool. No Athame, no Besome, no crystal even compares.
My Amazon list is getting very long lol, thank you for the recommendations I did buy your book I can't wait to hop into it. I'm glad you made this video because I was actually wanting to ask you this question.
One day I’ll own a shop and have your book lists and all your recommended titles 🥰

Great list of recommended! Added a few to my “to be read” list. 💜
I've actually met Jason Mankey at Convocation in Detroit. Pagan event put on by the Detroit Pagan Community.

Thank you so much for bringing those to light, you are always a valuable (and first) source I turn to for information on these subjects! Much love 💖
Thank you! Needed some inspo on what to read next and now I have all I need. ;)
Thanks! I really needed books that aren't aimed at beginners
@Thorn Mooney - your channel is so underrated for the content you provide and the experience you have !
Thank you!
Your book is excellent! I've read it twice already. Will definitely check out your other recommendations.
Great video thanks for sharing

Thank you for this.
You can find free book of shadows apps
I got The Crooked Path by Kelden and I must say reading this, it's really well written and concise, tells me exactly what I need to know. I know it's going to be the book I got on a whim I never knew I really needed
Kelden is fantastic. I should do a part 2 of this video.
I recently read your book recently and it was really wonderful and educational. Thank you.
I am your 777th like , fellow wiccan looking for book recommendations on RUclips :)
Excuse me while I add all of these books to my TBR list on Goodreads... :)
Dealing With Deity’s by Raven Kaldera is amazing.
Don't know if I might be psychic because I make the right moves when it matters but not from a vision just a gut feeling. Maybe some entity is guiding me. I started reading the book psychic witch but the exercises are slowing my progress.

I’m not wiccan so I always enjoy books that dont involve deities. If anything I’ll work with angels.
Angel Magick practitioner here...🎑
Darn! I almost picked up The Psychic Witch last Tuesday. Regretting that now lol. I read a lot of Christopher Penczak but I'm trying to branch out.

Yes! Whoops-I meant to. :) I’ll get those up today.
Every time I watch a book recc video in witchcraft/paganism I inevitably end up putting in an InterLibrary Loan order, lol.
I didn't know Raven Grimassi had passed. So sad.
hi thorn! what type of wiccan are you? by the way from what country do you live?
Can I just say I appreciate a witch who uses the f bomb liberally. LOL. Seriously , though. I was so excited to read Mat Auryn's book.
I saw a woman who looked like you in the occult section at a HPB, was that you?

"Capital 'T' Truth" - People often get too caught up in whether or not the Bible has it.
